Iraq and the UK discuss strengthening security cooperation
Al-Shimmari received the British Ambassador, Irfan Siddiq, in his office, discussing several issues of mutual interest, most notably enhancing security cooperation, exchanging expertise, and supporting training and development programs between the Ministry of Interior and British security institutions, said the ministry in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Minister of Interior affirmed 'the ministry's keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with the British side,' praising 'the positive role played by the United Kingdom in supporting Iraq, especially in the field of counterterrorism and enhancing the capabilities of security forces.'
In turn, the British Ambassador expressed 'his high appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in consolidating security and stability,' stressing 'his country's continued support for Iraq, which contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.'

SDF, Syrian government trike preliminary deal in Amman
Shafaq News – Damascus The Syrian government, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and US Special Envoy Thomas Barrack reached preliminary agreements during recent talks in Amman, Kurdish officials confirmed on Wednesday. Officials from the Autonomous Administration told the Saudi Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath tv channel that the agreements included joint control of border crossings and the Tishrin Dam. However, discussions on prison facilities and oil fields were postponed to a later stage. The SDF expressed readiness to integrate into the Syrian army as an independent corps, though no specific timeline was set for the process, the sources noted, adding that the SDF insisted on maintaining its presence in its current areas of control.
