Jota recently married his childhood sweetheart, with whom he has three children, just 11 days back. Jota also went through a minor lung surgery after he suffered a rib injury while playing for The Reds against Chelsea last season.

The Ferry plan and reactions
Even while travelling from the UK to his hometown of Porto, Jota used a ferry from Plymouth to Santender. On Thursday, the Jota brothers had the same plan, to board a Brittany ferries ride from Samtender to Plymouth, which would start at 4 pm and reach Devon 11:15 am on Friday, as per the reports.
The story of Jota not being advised to take flights was broken by CNN Porto, which said that it was because it posed a risk of inflating his lungs.
