In a recent release, Brian Ortner, AAA spokesman, said, 'AAA's 'Tow to Go' program is designed to remove impaired drivers from the road before disaster strikes. While this service is here for emergencies, we strongly urge everyone to plan ahead for a safe ride home. Because making responsible choices can stop a tragedy from happening.'
AAA is emphasizing its guidelines for this coming weekend. The full list of guidelines and contact information can be found at the AAA website. State uses Portage County park to promote Ohio tourism

Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park is featured in a commercial promoting tourism in Ohio. The video features a family throwing a dart at a map, deciding to go on vacation wherever the dart lands. When it lands on Ohio, the family visits Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Put-In-Bay, Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Brass Eye in Columbus, Aullwood Audubon in Dayton, the Christmas Story house in Cleveland and the End of Appalachia Preserve in West Union, in addition to Nelson Ledges. While the park is located in Nelson, it is depicted in the video as Garrettsville, which is its mailing address. Nelson Trustee Anna Mae VanDerHoeven said the state of Ohio is making a big effort to promote tourism in its state park. Trustees, she said, were among the first to visit a glass walkway that opened over Memorial Day weekend after two years of construction. The 137-foot walkway goes over Sylvan Creek Gorge in the park, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources states on its website. Those walking over the bridge can see the water 50 feet below. The walkway ends in a platform overlooking Minnehaha Falls. ODNR recently told WEWS Channel 5 in Cleveland that the bridge was one of the most unusual structures ever constructed in a state park. VanDerHoeven recalls having some sticker shock over the $1.68 million cost when she visited. "You could feed a lot of people or serve a lot of veterans with that money," she said. She said the overlook is "just gorgeous." Since the bridge was dedicated, a school bus of students from James A. Garfield Local Schools visited the trail, and one man told her he visited from Wisconsin. The privately owned Nelson Ledges Quarry Park has put up a sign to let visitors know that it's not the state park, VanDerHoeven said. The state, she said, also featured the park in a state magazine to promote tourism. "It has attracted so many people," she said. But those people, VanDerHoeven added, must travel to Garrettsville or Middlefield in Geauga County to grab a bite to eat or visit any businesses. "It brings people to the township, but we don't get anything out of it," she said. "We just get the traffic." US manufacturers are stuck in a rut despite subsidies from Biden and protection from Trump

WASHINGTON — Democrats and Republicans don't agree on much, but they share a conviction that the government should help American manufacturers, one way or another. Democratic President Joe Biden handed out subsidies to chipmakers and electric vehicle manufacturers. Republican President Donald Trump is building a wall of import taxes — tariffs — around the U.S. economy to protect domestic industry from foreign competition.

Winners, losers after Sonoma NASCAR Cup race won by Shane van Gisbergen

A look at the winners and losers from Sunday's Cup race at Sonoma Raceway. WINNERS Shane van Gisbergen — He scored his third victory in the last five races — all on road courses. He is tied with Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell for most victories this year. SVG earned his fourth career Cup win Sunday and it came in his 34th series start. No driver has reached four wins so quickly since Parnelli Jones did so in his 31st career Cup start at Riverside, California, in January 1967. Dustin Long, Trackhouse Racing — This organization has won four of the last eight Cup races. The streak started with Ross Chastain's victory in the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend and includes all three of Shane van Gisbergen's wins. Chase Briscoe — His runner-up result is his best finish on a road course. Until Sunday, he had never run a lap in the top five in four previous Sonoma starts. Chase Elliott — His third-place finish is his fourth top-five result in the last five races. Joey Logano — His ninth-place finish snaps a five-race stretch without a top-10 result. Kyle Busch — His 10th-place gives him back-to-back top-10 finishes. Ty Dillon — He finished 17th but bumped Alex Bowman out of the way on the last corner of the last lap to finish ahead of Bowman and advance to the semifinals of the In-Season Challenge. Dillon was the last seed in the 32-driver field and is now in the final four. He's two races from the $1 million prize. LOSERS Noah Gragson — He finished last in 37th, marking the third time in the last five races he's placed 30th or worse. Ryan Blaney — He finished 36th and was eliminated due to an accident. Blaney has failed to finish seven of the 20 races this season, the most in the series. Carson Hocevar — He placed 32nd. It is the fourth time in the last six races that he's finished 29th or worse.
