CEFA Early Learning Accelerates Ontario Growth Amid Rising Demand for Holistic Early Learning Approach

Cision Canada09-06-2025
CEFA's Ontario expansion began with the opening of CEFA Burlington in 2023, which accommodates up to 84 students, and has gained significant momentum in 2025 with the grand openings of new schools in Oakville, Mississauga, and Markham. With space for 98 students in Oakville, 149 in Mississauga, and 156 in Markham, the four Ontario schools will collectively serve 487 children, increasing access to enriched, whole-child education during the most critical years of early development. All locations are currently welcoming inquiries from interested families.
"Ontario families are seeking more than childcare; they're looking for a place where their children can be truly engaged, supported, and inspired," said Arno Krug Junior, President of CEFA Early Learning. "At CEFA, we offer an enriched early learning experience that blends academic readiness with creativity, emotional development, and confidence-building. Our continued growth in Ontario reflects both the rising demand for this kind of education and our long-term commitment to supporting families across the province. We're thrilled to welcome more students into our new schools and CEFA communities."
Founded in 1998 in West Vancouver, CEFA is Canada's leading private early education provider, offering a proprietary, science-backed curriculum that blends core academics with fine arts, STEM, language, mindfulness, and character development. In 2025, CEFA was named Canada's #1 Early Education Franchise by the Elite Franchise 100 and was the only education brand ranked among Canada's top 25 franchises overall.
"Throughout my career as a junior kindergarten educator, I witnessed just how transformative the early years can be when children are given the right environment and the right stimulation to learn and develop," said Natacha V. Beim, Founder and CEO of CEFA Early Learning. "That's what inspired me to develop a Canadian curriculum that integrates global best practices and emerging neuroscience. As CEFA expands in Ontario, I'm proud that more families will have access to an educational model that's designed not just to teach, but to unlock each child's potential."
CEFA's enriched junior kindergarten program is a science-backed curriculum designed around the synaptic blooming period, a critical stage of brain development between ages one and five when millions of neural connections are formed every second. Drawing on Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, and enhanced by CEFA's own proprietary innovations, the program supports each child's academic, emotional, social, and physical growth.
CEFA's curriculum is built around four key learning areas that guide every aspect of the classroom experience: CEFA Innovators, which nurtures problem-solving, inquiry, and discovery through STEM-focused activities; CEFA Masterminds, which builds foundational language skills in reading, writing, math, and critical thinking; CEFA Creators, which encourages creativity and self-expression through music, visual arts, drama, and dance; and CEFA Changemakers, which develops peer social skills to foster empathy, emotional intelligence, and social connection. Together, these pillars reflect CEFA's commitment to developing the whole child — academically, emotionally, socially, and creatively.
All three locations are welcoming inquiries from interested families. To learn more about CEFA's curriculum or find a school near you, visit www.cefa.ca.

Create Account It's time for Prime Minister Mark Carney to revisit that strategy. Canadian counter-tariffs on American goods increase the cost of living for Canadians and damage Canadian businesses relying on products imported from the U.S. Their ostensible purpose is to make these goods less desirable for Canadians to buy, by raising their prices, reducing demand in Canada and sending a message to U.S. President Donald Trump to reverse his imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods. The problem is that the U.S. economy is 10 times the size of Canada's, which means it will inevitably win a dollar-for-dollar tariff war and prompt further tariff retaliation by Trump. Carney knows this. It's why he has changed his position from the time he was running for the Liberal leadership, when he supported 'dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs.' This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. That was an 'elbows up' political response to Trump's tariffs, but it was never an effective economic one. Carney acknowledged that in April when he suspended Canadian counter-tariffs on imported American products used in the auto sector, in manufacturing, processing and food and beverage packaging and on imported U.S. goods used for public health, health care, public safety and national security. These suspensions — most for six months — were to give Canadian companies time to adjust to the economic damage Canada's counter-tariffs would cause them. It's also why Carney hasn't introduced counter-tariffs in response to Trump doubling U.S. tariffs on aluminum and steel to 50% in June. Nor has he responded to a new 50% U.S. tariff on imported copper and a new 35% tariff on Canadian imports not covered by the Canada-US-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) on trade, scheduled for Aug. 1. Read More Carney is waiting to see where Canada-U.S. negotiations on a new trade and security deal stand on Aug. 1, before deciding what Canada's response will be if the two countries fail to reach an agreement by then. That response should not be more counter-tariffs, because it will just add to the economic damage Trump's tariffs are already causing our economy, unless the prime minister can explain how they will make our economy stronger. /NOT FOR PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION IN THE UNITED STATES. ANY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RESTRICTION MAY CONSTITUTE A VIOLATION OF U.S. SECURITIES LAW./ CALGARY, AB, July 14, 2025 /CNW/ - Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (" Tamarack" or the " Company") (TSX: TVE) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an underwriting agreement to sell, on a private placement basis (the " Offering"), $325MM aggregate principal amount of 6.875% senior unsecured notes due July 25, 2030 (the " 2030 Notes"). The 2030 Notes will be issued at par under a trust indenture and will be general unsecured obligations of Tamarack ranking pari passu with all of the Company's existing and future senior unsecured indebtedness. Closing of the Offering is expected to occur on or about July 25, 2025, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Tamarack has also today given notice of a partial redemption of the 2027 Notes, which redemption is conditional upon the successful closing of the Offering. Subject to completion of the Offering, Tamarack intends to utilize approximately two-thirds of the net proceeds to repay a portion of the amounts drawn under the Company's existing covenant-based $875MM revolving lending facility maturing on April 30, 2028 (the " Credit Facility"). Tamarack intends to utilize the remaining net proceeds to effect the redemption of $100MM notional amount of the Company's outstanding $300MM 7.25% interest-bearing senior unsecured notes due May 10, 2027 (the " 2027 Notes"), which is expected to be completed on or about July 25, 2025 at the applicable call premium of 102% to par plus accrued and unpaid interest to the redemption date (collectively, the " Financing Arrangement"). Tamarack continues to prioritize balance sheet strength, together with ongoing shareholder returns and growth and development of the Company's Clearwater and Charlie Lake assets. Given the strength of the Canadian credit markets, Tamarack is proactively refinancing a portion of its indebtedness by extending the maturities on approximately 40% of the Company's debt to 2030 with attractive terms. The Financing Arrangement supports the Company by providing a more flexible and resilient capital structure. The extended debt horizon is supported by the Company's extensive inventory of highly economic drilling locations and long-term development plan. Following the completion of the Financing Arrangement, the Company's maturity profile is expected to be as follows: (1) Balances in the table above reflect the face value of the Company's outstanding indebtedness as at March 31, 2025, excluding unamortized deferred borrowing costs which are netted under IFRS. The Company's undrawn Credit Facility capacity reflects the impact of $5.9MM of letters of credit issued and outstanding under the facility. National Bank Financial Markets and RBC Capital Markets are acting as Joint-Bookrunners for the Offering. The 2030 Notes are being offered for sale in each of the provinces of Canada to "accredited investors" on a private placement basis in accordance with Canadian securities laws.
