Directed by Dijo Jose Antony , the film is set in the late 1950s and brings to life the struggles and hopes of migrant farmers living in Kerala's high-range regions. Director Dijo Jose Antony took to his Instagram handle to share a snap with the team and penned a note that read, "പ്രതീക്ഷകളോടെ…. നമ്മുടെ "പള്ളിച്ചട്ടമ്പിക്ക്" ഇന്ന് ശുഭ ആരംഭം. ( With much hope, 'Pallichattambi starts rolling.)" A story carved from history and heart 'Pallichattambi' is set in 1957–58 and focuses on the lives of settlers in Kerala's hill regions.
