The footage shows the honeymooners depositing their bags in a hotel before going towards Double Decker Bridge on May 21. Both of them are in raincoats.
The couple is seen arriving at 12:42pm on the same two-wheeler that was later found abandoned. Sonam is in a white T-shirt and black trousers under a black-and-pink raincoat. A white shirt was found next to Raja's body and a similar raincoat a few days later in the vicinity though neither has been confirmed to be hers.
Raja is seen requesting the manager to allow them to leave their luggage at the hotel while they go to visit Double-Decker Bridge. Sonam puts her raincoat in the boot of the two-wheeler. They transfer a few clothes from their suitcases into a carry bagand head off. They look cheerful and carefree.
At 12:45pm, a red hatchback arrives and stops at a short distance. Two minutes later, two men step out of the car and enter the hotel.
One of them is seen making entries on the computer, while the other makes a phone call. At 12:56 the couple leave on their two wheeler.
Sonam's family members don't think the raincoat found by police is hers. "It's 3XL and it is not clear if she was wearing the same raincoat," said Govind, who has been camping in Shillong.
Police are examining the footage but the two families feel Meghalaya cops aren't doing enough to find Sonam or trace Raja's killers.

Govind said: "We were the ones who found this viral CCTV footage. If a common man can do this, why can't police?" He had earlier said that Meghalaya police should "stop looking for a body". "My sister was abducted. We fear she has been trafficked to Bangladesh," he had told TOI.
Meghalaya officials say police, SDERF and NDRF teams, have been braving treacherous terrain and harsh weather in their search for Sonam. "Police don't take us to witness the search operation.
I am going on my own. They are just completing formalities in the name of searching. For the past three days, they have been searching just 50 metres on either side of a 10km road," he said.
"If the body were to be found on a road like that, wouldn't it have come to light in 16 days? Even a five-year-old can understand that. Sohra police are just killing time so that our patience breaks, we leave, and the news stops coming in the media," Govind told TOI.
According to local media reports in Meghalaya, a guide in Sohra has told police that he saw Raja and Sonam with three men before the couple went missing. They were talking in Hindi and seemed friendly, the reports said.

5 aides of rape-accused corporator held

Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday arrested five accomplices of BJD corporator Amaresh Jena for allegedly aiding his escape after a rape case was registered against him on July 23. The development coincided with the govt on Saturday 'terminating' the appointment of Amaresh's elder brother, Samaresh Jena, from his position as an additional standing counsel. "Amaresh is on the run. Multiple teams have been formed to trace him. During investigation, we found evidence that his five associates harboured the accused and helped him to escape," DCP Jagmohan Meena told TOI. On July 23, a 19-year-old girl lodged a complaint alleging that Jena sexually abused her in 2023. As per the complaint filed by the girl, she met Jena in June 2023 during Raja festivities and their friendship grew after that. She has alleged that she had to abort a two-month-old pregnancy in Feb last year. She said Jena convinced her to abort promising that he would divorce his wife and marry her. The girl accused Jena of starting to avoid her since April and threatening to kill her unless she leaves the city. The girl has threatened self-immolation if no action is taken on her complaint. Jena had refuted the allegations.

CM Saini slams Mamata, says no place for Bangladeshi infiltrators in Haryana

Gurugram Police had earlier said that eight Bangladeshi nationals had been detained as part of an ongoing drive to identify illegal immigrants, who will be deported soon. 'There is no place for Bangladeshi infiltrators in Haryana; they are being taken out from the state (deported) as quickly as possible,' Saini said in a post on X in Hindi. Chandigarh, Jul 26 (PTI) Amid a drive in Gurugram district to identify illegal immigrants, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday asserted that there is no place for Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state, as he slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her 'sympathy towards those who breach the country's security'. Mamata Banerjee on Thursday alleged that poor Bangla-speaking workers from West Bengal were being harassed, detained and even pushed into Bangladesh by authorities in certain BJP-ruled states, dubbing the incidents as acts of 'linguistic terror'. 'West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's sympathy toward those who breach the country's security is not only unfortunate but also against national interests. It is utterly deplorable that a chief minister, driven by appeasement and vote-bank politics, stoops so low as to compromise the country's security,' Saini said in his post. He adde, 'No compromise against India's unity, sovereignty and Constitution is acceptable in Haryana or anywhere in the country. For us, the nation's interest will always be paramount.' In a strongly-worded post on X on Thursday, Banerjee accused the governments in Haryana and Rajasthan of unleashing 'tortures and tortures (sic)' on Bengali-speaking citizens, and questioned what the BJP was trying to prove through such actions. 'Have been increasingly receiving reports of detentions and atrocities on our Bengali-speaking people from different districts of West Bengal in Gurgaon, Haryana. West Bengal police is receiving these reports from Haryana police in the name of requests for identity searches,' she said in her post. On Saturday, while referring to a report by New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW), Banerjee strongly criticised the alleged deportation of Bangla-speaking Muslims from India without due process, calling it a 'shame' for the country. She claimed the HRW report stated that such deportations have been taking place systematically in the BJP-ruled states of Assam, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Delhi, following a directive by the Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India.
