Gaurav Chopra grows his hair to play Professor Rajveer Shastri in ‘Pushpa Impossible'; says ‘I believe appearances speak volumes'
Pushpa Impossible
, celebrated actor
Gaurav Chopra
marks his return to television after five years in a powerful new role. He steps into the shoes of
Professor Rajveer Shastri
, a complex
law professor
whose presence is as commanding in the courtroom as it is emotionally layered in his personal life.
Rajveer is not your typical character—he's a once-celebrated legal prodigy whose promising career came crashing down after a scandal. The fall left him with emotional scars, transforming him into a man driven by fierce intellect, internal battles, and a cynical worldview.
To embody such a character authentically, Gaurav Chopra underwent a notable
transformation
, both physically and emotionally. He revealed, 'When I was approached for the role of Professor Rajveer Shastri in Pushpa Impossible, I instantly knew this wasn't just another character—it was a man with a story that needed to be told with raw honesty.
Rajveer is not your typical television hero; he's a warrior, layered, wounded, yet fiercely intelligent.'
Gaurav explained that growing out his hair played a significant part in slipping into Rajveer's skin. 'Portraying someone like him required more than just learning lines—it demanded a transformation in every sense. One of the first things I decided to do was grow my hair. It might sound like a small detail, but I believe appearances speak volumes, especially on screen. Rajveer's look had to echo his emotional state—unconventional, intense, and weathered by life.
'
He added, 'The longer hair gave him a rugged edge, a sense of rebellion against the world that wronged him, and a quiet strength. It helped me internalize his pain, his cynicism, and his need for redemption.'

Exclusive - Pushpa Impossible actress Indraxi Kanjilal shares the joy of buying her first car in Mumbai: My parents, my family, and everyone are so proud of me
Young actress Indraxi Kanjilal, known for her role as Prarthana in Pushpa Impossible, recently bought her first car in Mumbai and shared her joy at having her own vehicle. She says, 'I think buying my first car is a special moment for me, and it is indeed a big achievement. My parents, my family, and everyone are so proud of me. And I'm just so happy that I could make them proud. That's all I've ever wanted—to make my people proud. My fans are happy, they're proud of me. Honestly, since childhood, that has been one of my most important goals—to make the people I love proud. I was talking to my father, and he said, 'You got your first car at 21; I got mine in my 30s. It's a big deal that you could do this at such a young age. I'm so proud of you.' Hearing that made me so emotional. I was there with my pet daughter (cat), Godi, and she was really happy too. She was hanging around in the car and loved it. Actually, she's never been comfortable in cars, but this one was different. It's the first time she felt at ease in a car, and I think it's because she knew it was her mother's car. That just made me love it even more. Even my grandmothers sat in it and enjoyed the ride. Seeing them happy meant everything to me. In the end, that's what matters: happiness and pride.' Sharing the effort she put into buying her first car, Indraxi says, 'Getting my first car took a lot of effort, actually. I've been working for three years now and am currently in my fourth year in the industry. Since my second year, I've really wanted a car because travelling in Mumbai is such a hassle. With the traffic, long distances, and the struggle of finding an Uber, it just becomes too much sometimes. So I thought, 'Let's get a car. ' But I also told myself that I would only buy one when I was financially ready. Honestly, I was a little nervous too, because owning a car comes with a lot of added responsibilities and expenses. But still, I felt confident. I told myself I'm ready to take on everything that comes with it. I bought the car when I felt truly prepared, and now I just have to go with the flow and enjoy this new journey. It's a brand-new and very exciting experience for me.' Indraxi will be driving her car but also plans to hire a driver whenever says, 'I'll have a driver with me in the beginning, and I'll drive a little at a time to build my confidence. Hopefully, with enough practice, I'll be ready to handle Mumbai traffic on my own. With my new car, I would love to go to Marine Drive—it's such a beautiful place, especially in the monsoon. I really love visiting Chowpatty too. I had always told myself that when I got my first car, I would drive to Marine Drive and just sit there, breathing in the fresh, beautiful air. That's exactly what I want to do. I also plan to take my family with me. I'm hoping that my father will come down from Kolkata so that we can all go for a drive together. That would be so special and so much fun.' Did you know Gauahar Khan drove herself to the hospital for her delivery? Here's what actress revealed

Anshul Trivedi: My Goa trips are unlike what you see on Instagram
Anshul Trivedi — Janice Rodrigues While people come to Goa for the nightlife, or the beach, actor Anshul Trivedi 's trips here are different. He prefers a quiet time in nature. In a chat with Goa Times he says, 'My trips aren't like what Goa trips look like on Instagram . I crave to be in nature, it helps me recalibrate. Whenever I am around a waterbody, be it a river or sea, I feel as if I am being grounded and all the extra baggage is being taken off. I try to take such breaks where I do nothing. Absolutely nothing. I sit quietly in nature, I eat simple food and I sleep. And most importantly, I don't click pictures and share them. Now that's the USP of my Goa trip.' Speaking further about what he loves about the place, Anshul says, 'I love that I can be in Goa in an hour and it is nature at its best, if you know where to go. I prefer the monsoons because contrary to popular belief, I feel Goa blooms during rains.' 'I don't run away from situations' Actors go through their share of ups and downs, so how does he cope with it? 'I visit Goa during ups and downs!' he says with a smile. Anshul adds, 'Jokes apart, I have a philosophy which I follow during tough times, I consciously live with the situations I am dealing with. I don't run away. I am with it and gradually it dissolves.' 'A few interesting offers are in pipeline' The actor, who has worked across mediums, says he is focusing on TV right now. 'My show Pushpa Impossible is what keeps me busy. It's practically not possible to focus on anything else especially when you are playing one of the leading parts in a TV show. Few interesting OTT offers are in the pipeline. Fingers crossed.

Gaurav Chopra on the feedback he's receiving for Pushpa Impossible; says ‘It is overwhelming that people are connecting with it in such a strong way'
Gaurav Chopra is winning hearts all over again with his role as Professor Rajveer Shastri in Pushpa Impossible. Known for portraying characters with depth and dignity, Gaurav brings a quiet intensity and layered presence to the world of Pushpa, stepping into an already established narrative and adding a fresh yet grounded energy. In a candid conversation, Gaurav opens up about what drew him to the role, the positive feedback he's receiving, and the emotional threads that bind him to the character. 'It is overwhelming that people are connecting with it in such a strong way,' he says, speaking about the reaction from fans since his entry. 'Even the look has caught people's attention — it's different from how they've seen me before, and that reaction has been so heartening.' A Character Unlike Any Other Gaurav, who has portrayed a wide range of characters across mediums, finds Rajveer Shastri distinct. 'He believes in Pushpa and sees her potential, but he also understands the challenges she faces because of where she comes from,' he explains. 'What I find interesting is that he helps without seeking attention. He steps in, fixes things quietly, and doesn't even mention it. That kind of quiet strength is rare — and admirable. ' A Soulful Experience On Set Having joined the show around a month and a half ago, Gaurav reflects on how the experience has felt both intense and rewarding. 'Some scenes honestly feel award-worthy in their intensity,' he says. 'The character is beautifully written and directed, and working with talented co-actors only elevates the performance.' Finding Common Ground with Rajveer When asked if he finds any similarities with Rajveer, Gaurav admits, 'There are emotional experiences I've had recently that I channel into Rajveer. That's where I connect with him. The rest — body language, gestures, tone — I build around that core. And it's incredibly fulfilling that the audience is picking up on those subtle layers.' Not Harsh, But Honest Rajveer Shastri, while often stern with Pushpa, is not lacking in empathy. 'He doesn't doubt Pushpa at all — he's just preparing her for the real world. He knows the legal field is tough and doesn't sugarcoat reality. His way of supporting her is by pushing her. That's his version of care.' He adds, 'This show gives you space to explore silences, unspoken energy, and undercurrents. That's what makes every scene so impactful.' On-Screen Chemistry That Resonates Gaurav shares a strong working rapport with Karuna Pandey, who plays Pushpa. 'Karuna is an absolute joy to work with. She is Pushpa. When your co-actor is that immersed in character, your own performance becomes more authentic. A big part of the love Rajveer is getting is thanks to how she plays off those quiet, complex moments.' The Response Has Been Truly Overwhelming The audience response to Rajveer has been nothing short of phenomenal. 'I was honestly unsure how people would react. He's strict, sometimes harsh, and I wondered if he'd be hard to like. But viewers have really understood his past, his pain, and his intentions. The empathy people have shown — especially towards Rajveer as a father — has been deeply moving,' Gaurav shares. He also acknowledges the growing curiosity around Rajveer's dynamic with Pushpa. 'There's a lot of buzz and excitement about their chemistry. I just hope we can do justice to the expectations and give them something emotionally rich.' A Message to the Fans Signing off with heartfelt gratitude, Gaurav says, 'A big thank you to all the viewers. Joining a show that's already been loved for over three years could have been intimidating, but the way people have embraced Rajveer and welcomed me has been truly encouraging. Please keep watching and supporting us. Your love and connection are what make this journey worthwhile.'
