Six-year-old 'Chaos Kid' Charlie could be UK's youngest wrestler

Yahoo09-05-2025
A SIX-year-old Isle of Wight boy is believed to be the UK's youngest wrestling performer.
Charlie Jennings, from Cowes — aka The Chaos Kid — opened Outcast Pro Wrestling's Easter show at The Bay School in Sandown.
It was a landmark for the youngster.
His mum, Hayley Attrill, said: "I used to watch wrestling on the telly, and, as Charlie got a bit older, I took him to an Outcast Pro Wrestling show in May last year.

(Image: Outcast Pro Wrestling) "Going to that ignited a passion in him. He just came alive."
Hayley then took Charlie, aged five at the time, along to an open day at the Outcast Pro Wrestling academy in Sandown last year, and he did a trial session.
"He just loved it — and he's been going to training there ever since."
Charlie, the club's youngest member, attends Lanesend Primary School.
He is not yet old enough to compete, but he does 'performance' wrestling.
The club's head coach, wrestler Matt Jackson, aka Jackson Arrow, trains wrestlers of all skill levels and ages, starting from seven — with the exception of Charlie.

"He's shorter than most," Hayley joked.
"But the coaches are so good — teaching him discipline, respect, good technique and how to do wrestling safely, in a friendly environment."
Charlie is such a hit at the academy, he was invited to take part in the Outcast Academy Show, watched by more than 100 wrestling fanatics, which included his mum, brother and grandparents.
The second annual family show featured trainees taking on adults, with Charlie opening it against 17-year-old Corey Ace.
When Charlie appeared, from behind a curtain, to Kaiser Chief's I Predict a Riot, there was raucous applause and cheering.

"He was high-fiving everyone, standing on the ropes," continued Hayley.
"Regarding the show, Charlie said he wants to do it again.
"His favourite part was coming out through the curtain and the crowd cheering him."
Since joining the club, his mum says wrestling has "brought him out of his shell".
"Charlie was shy before he started doing wrestling," said Hayley.
"He now wants to be a WWE wrestler when he's older. I'd be happy to see him do it, definitely."

KCAL Cares spotlights resources offered by Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles

KCAL Cares is spotlighting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles for providing a safe and nurturing space where children can discover their superpowers. The Challengers Clubhouse of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles offers a tennis academy where court time and lessons are a part of the curriculum. It helps expose them to a sport that, without the clubhouse, they might not ever have the chance of trying. "These kids get to play tennis at least once or twice a week from the age of 5 all the way to age 18," said Alejandra Liera, site director at the Challengers Clubhouse. Yahuzar aims at being on the court all day, perfecting his game and becoming a better competitor. While Yahuzar discovered his superpower on the court, other kids are developing gifts and talents elsewhere at the Challengers Clubhouse. Liera said beyond the tennis courts, there's a massive gym, classrooms, game rooms and impressive memorabilia left by high-profile supporters. "It takes a community to keep this going," Liera said. The Boys and Girls Clubs operate year-round, providing a safe place for kids to come when they're not in school. They not only offer opportunities like the Challengers Clubhouse but also nourishing meals to prevent hunger and that can facilitate focus. Charlie has been a member of the Boys and Girls Club since kindergarten. "They help us grow and learn and improve my reading, my math and my writing," Charlie said. Fourth grader Haley wants to be a broadcaster when she grows up. She interviewed KCAL News Sports Anchor Darren Haynes about his work. Hayley has not only learned resilience here, but she's made friends and discovered her superpower. Even though summer has just begun, the Boys and Girls Clubs are already preparing to outfit these kids for back to school and they're asking the public to pitch in. "We are in need of materials like pencils, scissors and sports equipment," Liera said. Liera has built an Amazon wish list that includes supplies that the cubs are in need of. You can help bring school supplies to kids who might not otherwise have them. Scan the QR code for a direct link to the Boys and Girls Club Amazon wish list. KCAL Cares is proud to support the clubs and the kids and outfit them for success. Whether or not they become a future Grand Slam winner, these kids will have a lot of fun learning and even teaching. Perhaps the most important lesson here: in every endeavor, sportsmanship is key.

Beyond The Gates Recap: Martin Knocks Kenneth on His Creepy Behind

Beyond The Gates Recap: Martin Knocks Kenneth on His Creepy Behind originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Park: Martin spies Samantha helping a technologically challenged Kenneth. He walks up and knocks him on his ass. Martin tries to get Samantha to go to the car but she's too busy defending the random man her pops just smacked. Kenneth creepily says he didn't touch a hair on Samantha's head nor laid a hand on her 'beautiful brown skin.' He notes the good congressman just made a huge mistake by attacking him in public. With that, he grabs his phone and bids them farewell. Samantha tries to ask questions but Martin tells her to get in the car. Bill and Hayley's Digs: Hayley tells Bill the baby got a good checkup and takes a seat on his lap. Just then, Vernon arrives all hot under the collar and Hayley makes a quick exit. Bill updates Vernon on Kenneth still being in town. Vernon tells Bill to fix it before Martin catches wind. Bill provides a few more details including how Kenneth made contact with Tyrell. Vernon thinks they need to put out more money to get him gone. Bill treads lightly when he mentions how Kenneth never got the first batch of money as Joey had suggested a more 'permanent' solution. Vernon can't believe Bill signed off on a murder. Bill reminds Vernon the number of times he's been expected to swallow sins to allow the Duprees to sleep soundly. He can't believe the audacity of Vernon to be so aghast at what he's had to do to keep the Dupree family all shiny and clean. Vernon says he draws the line at murder. Bill shoots back to remind his former father-in-law how he was forced to clean up Martin's mess backed by threats of his own downfall. Vernon once again says he doesn't want Kenneth dead. He must have a price and they just have to determine how to meet it. He directs Bill to get Joey to stand down whilst he calls his accountant. Orphey Gene's: Ashley runs into Jacob, and they awkwardly discuss the breakup with Jacob. She assumed he was choosing Derek's, but he says he was biding his time hoping they would get back together. Ashley goes off about Derek's audacity in going out with Shanice before she's pushed into admitting she also went out with Andre. Jacob gets a call and heads out as Hayley orders all kinds of food for her and baby. Ashley calls out about her order and Hayley says how embarrassed she is to have been caught ordering so much food. Ashley is surprised she's already having cravings as that's normally a second trimester issue. Hayley heads over to Ashley's table and thanks her for being so kind and friendly despite everything. Ashley reminds Hayley that they were all best friends with Naomi before she married Bill. Hayley says she didn't have anyone before Bill. Ashley reminds her that she had every member of the Dupree family but Hayley says Bill was her rock. Ashley hopes her marriage lasts and Hayley hopes they can all be friends again. Ashley says a best friend's dad should be off limits. Hayley gets it but simply fell in love with Bill. Ashley wonders if she ever tried to stop what happened. She continues asking how the older siblings feel about the situation. Hayley isn't certain of anyone else's feelings but says she and Naomi called a truce after Bill's stroke. Uptown: Allison is playing up her time with Chelsea in front of Madison before walking away to her table. Chelsea and Madison sit back down and promptly forget heading home. Madison asks what in the actual hell just happened. Chelsea says she wanted to pursue things with Allison but was rebuffed. She is quite surprised by her sudden change of attitude and selective memory. They chat a bit more before engaging in a kiss, as Allison watches. Martin and Smitty's Place: Samantha apologizes for talking to the man and Martin says he was trying to save her life. She understands her pops loves her but needs to understand what in the world is going on. Just then, Smitty walks in and Samantha asks him to pitch in. Martin, as usual, says he can't get into things, but Smitty isn't taking no for an answer. They go back and forth for a while before Smitty gives him a bit of an ultimatum – talk to me now or don't come back. Martin hopes Smitty will still be there when he gets back and takes off. Smitty turns to Samantha and takes his daughter in his arms. Smitty apologizes to Samantha as they weren't able to keep her and her brother safe. She's good as she knew long before they became a family just how dangerous the world is. Samantha explains how the guy asked him for help with his phone. Smitty wonders why she engaged but Samantha said it just didn't occur to her to be afraid. Smitty puts on his investigator hat and asks about the man in the park. Samantha says it was the same man who Tyrell brought home the night before. She thought it was pretty clear that he and pops had beef from long ago. Smitty realizes that connection is why Martin called the police. He pulls out his phone and calls someone (Jacob?) and asks him to come over. Jacob arrives and Samantha is sent to her room. She and her dad share what seems to be a tradition – five words, 'everything's gonna work out fine.' With that, she exits. Smitty fills Jacob in on the person who seems to be stalking Samantha and Tyrell. Jacob asks for more details but Smitty indicates Martin is still clammed up. Smitty is afraid Martin's secrets have put him and his family in a serious situation. Smitty mentions the ultimatum he gave Martin, but Jacob says they've all been through tough times. He knows what it's like to be married to a Dupree as they have their own way of doing things and folks who don't get on board can kick rocks. That being said, they both love the Dupree family and often go out of their way to help them get through situations they think they can handle alone. He urges Smitty not to make long-term decisions when things are so volatile. Smitty agrees and decides to get back to focusing on the connection between Malone, Martin and the incident two years prior. Park: Martin gets on the phone with Malone and yells at him about protecting his family. He demands eyes be on his house, NOW! Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Vernon calls Anita and is disappointed to get her voicemail. He says how much he misses his beloved and needs to hear her voice. Vernon says he is lost without her and hopes she comes home soon. Bill and Hayley's Digs: Martin storms in and tells Bill about Kenneth's contact with Samantha. Bill says he will fix it which prompts Martin to note all the ways so many folks have failed to 'fix' this issue. Bill sweet talks Martin a bit but he's not terribly receptive. Martin notes how his well-being got put on the back burner when Bill messed with Hayley and now his grandfather is preoccupied with his grandmother in Chicago. He says this problem is now his and he is in charge. Bill is down and asks for details of Martin's plan. He says he would love to see Kenneth dead and Bill wonders if he's spoken to Smitty but Martin says he won't infect the most beautiful parts of his life with this mess. Bill thinks Martin wants to be stopped but he's done and quickly makes his exit. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Chelsea and Madison are getting all cute as they think about what it would have been like if they met in high school. Just then, Allison throws a hair clip on the table saying she left it behind the last time they hooked up. Before Chelsea can grab it, Allison takes it back as a memento and makes her exit. Jacob wants to question Tyrell and Samantha to get a description of the man. Smitty is on board but not until he finds out what led Martin to hit someone in front of their daughter. Martin is at Orphey Gene's on the phone with someone asking if he can trust them to handle business. Tomorrow is too late and it needs to be handled now. Bill arrives to see Vernon and tells him about Kenneth connecting with Samantha. Vernon wants to throw cash at the problem but Bill says Martin is intent on handling everything himself. Vernon worries his plan will be violent and Bill notes how much he loves his children and will do anything to protect them. Vernon says they need a better plan before time runs out. Keep checking back for the latest Beyond The Gates recaps! This story was originally reported by Daytime Confidential on Jul 15, 2025, where it first appeared.

Where does ‘Poker Face' go from here?

It also reflects one of the ways the show sets itself apart. Many other mystery shows feature a crime solver who doesn't have a background in law enforcement (like 'High Potential' or 'Elsbeth'), but 'Poker Face' has always paid special attention to Advertisement But the finale deepened that emotional resonance by playing on the other aspect to Charlie's conundrum: knowing that people are lying to her all the time is pretty heartbreaking. All of us go through the day with some awareness that people may not be fully honest with us (I must confess that I am often not, in fact, 'leaving now!' when I claim to be). But Charlie's faith in humanity gets tested over and over. Not only are people lying, but they're lying about awful things for the same series of petty reasons over and over again. Advertisement She's had few lasting friendships over the course of the show's two seasons; that Alex stuck around and formed a bond with her had been a meaningful step forward for the character, who's stuck being a real drifter. Alex's subsequent reveal that their entire bond had been a lie just to test her own abilities to fool Charlie may be the biggest betrayal yet. As the finale ends, Charlie has hitched a ride with a trucker to escape the long arm of the law. But what kind of future is Charlie going to have, given how much agony her own skill brings her?
