Hundreds of runners took to the streets of Shinfield for the 40th annual 10K.
The road race took place in the Berkshire village on Monday, May 5 where over 800 participants crossed the start line.
Sponsored by Honeysuckle Day Nursery and Parkers estate agents, the event has raised over £130,000 since its inception in 1985 and continues to support a number of local charities.
The MP for Woodley and Earley met runners at the finishing line of the 10K and children's race to hand out the hard-earned medals.
James Lyne was first to cross the finish line with an impressive time of 32 minutes and 55 seconds. He was followed by Nicholas Twomey in second place and Jack Boswell in third.
The first woman to finish was Lesley Locks in 37 minutes and 37 seconds, ahead of Caroline Hoskins and Jodie Penny.
Friends, family, supporters and local residents lined the streets to cheer on all the runners on the day.
MP Yuan Yang said: 'I really enjoyed handing out the hard-earned medals and meeting people throughout the event. Some were repping the Reading FC stripes and stopped afterwards to chat to my team and me about the sale completion.
'I also met Emma from Reading Roadrunners, who was one of many behind setting up the day.
'Thank you to all the volunteers and the over 800 runners for making the day so special!'

Football club unveil away kit inspired by town hall

Reading FC has unveiled a new kit paying homage to Reading's town hall, in honour of the building's 150th anniversary. The Royals' away kit for the 2025/26 League One season has been inspired by the locally made red bricks and terracotta panels that adorn the Victorian building, the club said. It is the second Reading shirt for next season inspired by the Berkshire town's history, with the club's new home kit celebrating its industrial heritage and unique link to biscuits. Both shirts are made from eco fabrics and cost £58 each. Reading Town Hall, as it appears today, was built in 1875 and was the backdrop for celebrations when the club reached the Premier League for the first time in 2006. Announcing the new kit, the club said the building was "a focal point in the heart of Reading". It said the new kit linked to "a landmark which is forged in the history of our town, our community and our club". Reacting on social media, one fan said the new kit "looks class", while another said it was "quite nice", adding: "At least nobody can say that our kits are plain and boring this season." But other supporters took a more pessimistic view, with one comparing the kit to Chinese Terracotta Army sculptures. Another questioned the club's move away from its traditional red away kit, saying the new shirt was "too orange". Over the years, the Royals have had some unique designs, including the University of Reading's "climate stripes" in 2022/23 and one that featured landmarks around the town. Picture date: (Image: Cody Froggatt) Former Reading star John Swift is among the out-of-contract players taking part in this summer's Professional Footballers' Association initiative. Starting last year, the PFA have run camps and friendly fixtures for players out of contract in the hope of showcasing their talents and earning a move back to a club for the new season. Advertisement Last year, the likes of Michael Hector and Nesta Guinness-Walker played in the PFA friendlies and went on to earn moves. This time around, 30-year-old Swift is among the former Royals hoping the scheme works to his benefit. A highly-rated Chelsea youngster who had a loan spell with Brentford in 2015/16, the attacking midfielder moved to Reading in 2016 and made over 200 appearances in the next six years. Regularly among the best players for the Royals, although injuries often meant his full potential was never hit, Swift departed in 2022 and joined West Bromwich Albion. Over a century of matches followed for the Baggies at top-end Championship level, but the former England Under-21 regular was released this summer after three years in the West Midlands. Advertisement Linked with moves to Portsmouth and Derby County, Swift will be looking to impress suitors this evening as the PFA side have to non-league side Worksop Town for a friendly. A squad of 22 players are making the trip, including the likes of Sam Lavelle, Dylan McGeouch and Ash Hunter are among the former EFL regulars in the squad.
