Honda Cars India has announced special discounts on some of the popular cars for the month of May. These special promotions include discounts on its popular Elevate, Amaze and City. The carmaker offers significant price discounts across the company's vehicle lineup almost every month. This includes buyback offers, corporate packages, loyalty bonus and a complimentary seven-year extended warranty.
The automaker is offering discounts up to ₹ 63,000 on the City model, while the Honda City Hybrid has received special benefits of up to ₹ 65,000. Notably, these offers are valid for all the variants of City and City Hybrid cars. To recall, the sedan locks horns with Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia in the segment.
The Elevate has received a special discount this month worth up to ₹ 76,100 on its top-tier variant, which is the Elevate ZX. Notably, the SUV is a string rival of MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos in India in this segment. This car houses a powerful 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4 pot engine.
The new Honda Amaze has received corporate discounts and a special loyalty bonus for existing Honda customers. However, the sedan is not getting any cash benefits. A significant benefit of up to ₹ 57200 has been announced for the Amaze. It is noteworthy that the special benefits are not available on the third-generation Amaze, which has been launched recently by the Japanese automaker. However, the car manufacturer is offering EMIs starting at ₹ 1111 per lakh for the sedan.
Interested buyers should note that these discounts and deals are based on the availability of the stock, the carmaker and the dealerships. It is advised to consult with the local dealership in your nearby area for the most accurate information on deals.

Honda CB125 Hornet vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Which 125cc streetfighter makes more sense?

Honda has officially unveiled the CB125 Hornet in India, targeting the growing segment of stylish 125cc commuter bikes. While prices are yet to be revealed, expected on August 1, it's clear that the CB125 Hornet will go head-to-head with one of the most feature-packed options in the category, the Hero Xtreme 125R . Here's how the two stack up on paper across specifications, features and hardware: Honda CB125 Hornet vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Engine and performance Both bikes fall in the premium 125cc category, but they offer slightly different tuning. The Honda CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It generates 11 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It produces slightly more power, 11.24 bhp, but at a higher 8,250 rpm, with torque rated at 10.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Honda CB125 Hornet vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Features and technology Honda is going all-out in terms of features for the CB125 Hornet. It comes with full-LED lighting, a stylish twin-LED headlamp with LED DRLs, a 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth via Honda RoadSync, USB Type-C charging, an engine stop switch, and a side-stand engine cut-off. Meanwhile, the Hero Xtreme 125R also gets full-LED lighting and Bluetooth support via a digital display, but it uses a simpler digital cluster compared to Honda's TFT unit. However, it scores with a segment-first single-channel ABS, enhancing safety. Honda CB125 Hornet vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Suspension and braking Suspension setup and braking performance are key differentiators. The CB125 Hornet features segment-first golden USD front forks and a 5-step adjustable mono-shock. Braking is handled by a 240mm petal disc up front and a 130mm drum at the rear. It rides on wide tubeless tyres with an 80/100-17 section at the front and a 110/80-17 section at the rear. In contrast, the Hero Xtreme 125R uses 37mm conventional telescopic forks and a hydraulic monoshock. It also gets a 240mm unit up front, but surprisingly, it's a drum brake instead of a disc. It runs on slightly wider tyres, 90/90-17 at the front and 120/80-17 at the rear. Honda CB125 Hornet vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Price and value The Hero Xtreme 125R is priced starting at ₹98,000 (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable premium 125cc bikes in the country. On the other hand, Honda has not yet revealed the price of the CB125 Hornet, but it's likely to be in the same ballpark, perhaps with a slight premium considering its feature set. If you're looking for aggressive styling, premium hardware like USD forks and a modern TFT display, the Honda CB125 Hornet appears to offer more for the enthusiast. On the other hand, if safety, affordability, and proven reliability are your top priorities, the Hero Xtreme 125R holds its ground strongly with ABS and a lower price tag. The final verdict will depend heavily on the CB125 Hornet's pricing. Stay tuned for the official announcement on August 1. Check out Upcoming Bikes In India. First Published Date:

Gloom lifts, India Inc ready: Consumer cos step up festive ad spends after slow H1; expect 15–20% jump

iStock India Inc FY25 sales (Image for representation) Companies across consumer sectors are readying to loosen their purse strings to step up advertising during the upcoming festive season, with ad spends expected to increase 15-20% year-on-year according to industry executives, after having curtailed spending in the first half of 2025 on account of geopolitical issues, including the India-Pakistan conflict, and a rain-soaked summer. Media buyers said companies from the personal care, food, automobiles, retail, electronics, hospitality and real estate sectors have taken the lead in booking advertising slots. Beverage maker Coca-Cola's global chief executive James Quincey said on an investor call earlier this week, "In India, after a strong start to the year, volume declined as our business was impacted by early monsoons and geopolitical conflict in the important summer season. In response, Coca-Cola is developing more granular, execution strategies... tailored to festivals and regional needs," he said. Discretionary sectors, which saw subdued sales growth of 4-5% in the past 12 months owing to a combination of factors, are pinning hopes on the next five months for momentum to pick up, hoping that the income tax relief on salaries of up to ₹12 lakh annually, favourable monsoon, easing of some commodity inflation and stability in geopolitical sentiment could bring back demand. "While the auto industry has faced subdued demand, we expect good revival in the coming months backed by favourable monsoon and upcoming festive season starting with Onam from August. We will enhance our marketing campaigns and introduce product updates to catch this uptick in buying season," said Kunal Behl, vice president, marketing and sales, Honda Cars India. The festive season, comprising a series of festivals in different parts of the country, from Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami in August to Dussehra and Diwali in October and Christmas in December, is traditionally associated with an uptick in spending and provides businesses an opportunity to push sales on these auspicious occasions. 'Companies that had held back ad budgets so far this year, are expectedly ploughing them back into the next two quarters, hoping for demand recovery in the second half of the year,' said Shashi Sinha, chairman at media planning and buying firm IPG Mediabrands, which represents companies such as ITC, Mahindra Group and PhonePe digital wallet app. Car and two-wheeler sales in India, the world's third largest automobile market, slipped in the June quarter, snapping a four-year growth streak. 'But a busy pipeline of new model launches in the run-up to the festive season and a weak demand is prompting auto companies to jack up advertising, marketing and sales promotion spend,' an executive at a large passenger vehicle maker said on condition of anonymity. 'Automakers are leveraging digital-first strategies to drive festive demand and clear elevated inventory levels.' Summer-centric companies such as those making cold beverages, air-conditioners, ice-cream and refrigerators, in particular, were caught off guard in the crucial April-June quarter, which contributes more than half to their annual sales, on account of consistent unseasonal rains. Many such companies, which had stalled launches during the season and hence ad and marketing spends, are now reviving their plans, supported by an advertising push. 'With the festive season bringing a wave of optimism and increased consumer spending, we will now introduce Jumpin's ready-to-drink portfolio, to capitalise on the favourable environment,' said Piruz Khambatta, group chairman of concentrate mix and fruit drinks maker Rasna. The company had acquired Jumpin from Hershey's India this year in peak summer in May for a valuation of an estimated Rs 350 crore. 'Given how much hinges on the festive quarters this year, we are seeing advertising focusing on exchange schemes and financing offers for additional incentives to urge consumers to spend, instead of routine seasonal festive campaigns that usually focus on launches and new collections,' said an executive at a creative agency, which is currently creating such advertising for two large brands. 'This is happening across sectors, whether it's jewellery, phones, electronics or cars.' A report by Sam Balsara-owned Madison Advertising, along with Pitch, forecasted that India's advertising expenditure would increase 11% year-on-year to Rs 1,19,857 crore in 2025. The report referred to 'positive market sentiment following the budget as a key driver for recovery'.
