The Crystal Palace player is 6ft 2in with uncapped pair Bosun Lawal and John Joe Patrick Finn similar in size.
Jason Knight — who is 5ft 8in — and Josh Cullen — who is just an inch taller — have been the regular partnership in the midfield engine room.
But Hallgrimsson reckons there will be times when size matters.
The Icelander said: 'We've had many similar players, with similar quality. They bring in something different and sometimes in games, you need to have something different.'

As such, Hallgrimsson admitted his inclusion of the three six-footers for the first time was by design.
He added: 'We were looking for someone and now it's a competition between three guys with this physique, if we can say, to show who is ready for the next step.
'Sometimes in games, you need to have that physicality and you need to have height.
'It is good to have those players knowing how we want to play. If called upon, it would be no problem for them to come in.

'Too much ego and self-preservation' - New Rangers boss rips players after league opener
Russell Martin spoke scathingly about "egos" and "self-preservation" among his players after Rangers dropped two points at Motherwell on the opening day of the William Hill Premiership campaign. Gers skipper James Tavernier headed in from a corner in the 14th minute but the Ibrox side failed to kick on and eventually succumbed in the 87th minute when Emmanuel Longelo drove in a deserved equaliser for a 1-1 draw. It is the third successive season that Rangers have failed to win their opening game, and on Sunday they could fall behind Old Firm rivals Celtic when the champions host St Mirren. In a spectacular post-match summation of his players, Martin, whose side progressed to the Champions League third qualifying round against Viktoria Plzen with a 3-1 aggregate win over Panathinaikos on Wednesday, said: "I'm very disappointed and a bit hurt and a bit angry at a lot of stuff I saw. "Motherwell were really good, credit to them. But I said to the players, the problems haven't been tactical, yet. They've been mentality, about energy, about courage, intensity, aggression, to play. "We haven't started games well enough in the first half in the two European games and then showed a bit more willingness to trust the detail in each other and work. "And then today, we go ahead and play some OK stuff. Every time we get in the final third, we turn the ball over and make crazy decisions. "They're either selfish decisions or they're based on anxiety, so we need to get to the bottom of that. "Because there was far too much stuff that we haven't worked on or haven't seen. "It's not me digging them out. I take full responsibility for it. But that hurts me more than anything. "The problem should be tactical, it shouldn't be mentality. "So when it's going well, you're all-in, you want to run, you want the ball. It's nice, but when it's not going well, you don't want to run so much, you pick and choose when you want to run. "You pick and choose when you want to compete and mark your player from a throw-in or a corner. "You pick and choose when to run back, and it's unacceptable for this sort of club. And for us as a coaching staff, this is not acceptable. "We're six weeks in, there will be issues. But the issue today is purely mentality. "So too much ego, too much self-preservation, and you're either all-in all the time or you're not. And if you're not, you just won't play very much." Motherwell's new boss Jens Berthel Askou, a former team-mate of Martin at Norwich who was taking charge of his first league game, was disappointed his side did not take all three points. "I said to players, I was very disappointed on their behalf that they didn't get the win at the end because we did everything we could to get the win," he said. "But again, that's down to quality also in these small situations and we'll keep working on that and sharpen that up. "I think they gave themselves the opportunity to win, and that's where it starts with the effort and with the desperation to go forward and to punish them on their transitions and to really work extremely hard throughout the entire game. "I was very happy with that and I know that if we are able to put our performances like this over time, that there will be many other opportunities to win games."

Josh Honohan delighted Shamrock Rovers have hit a big game fixture pile-up
Josh Honohan loves the biggest occasions and so is relishing the jam-packed schedule facing Shamrock Rovers at this vital stage of the season. The Premier Division table-toppers travel to the Brandywell to face third placed Derry City this evening (7pm), then make the trip to Kosovo for Thursday's Europa Conference League third qualifying round first leg against FC Ballkani. Between last Thursday's second qualifying round second leg in Tallaght against St Joseph's and the FAI Cup third round clash with Longford Town on August 17, the Hoops are pencilled in for six games in 18 days. "If we do well over the next couple of weeks we'll have the cup, we'll have the league and hopefully have a good European campaign. "That's why you want to come to this club, though. You want to be busy. If you're not busy you're not probably doing well. We're used to it now over the last couple of years and there's a good bit of experience in that dressing room. We'll be ready for it. "It's just more focus on one game at a time. Derry are up towards the top of the table, they're a really good team, they're always challenging. They don't just have a really good team, they have a really good squad. Honohan's performances last season as Rovers made history by becoming the first Irish side to qualify for the knock-out stages of a European tournament earned him an Ireland squad call-up. The 24-year-old is hungry for Stephen Bradley's side to get back to the big stage. "You want to do that as a footballer," he said. "It's a big reason why I wanted to come here. It's an opportunity that we'll hopefully get. Obviously, we'll have a couple of rounds to win to get to that stage that we did last year. "That's a big reason why you want to play when you're younger, to go to Vienna, to go to Sparta Prague, to go to Chelsea - those experiences are really, really positive. I'll probably reflect on it more when my career is finished. "Every game is a big game but obviously the European games are big games, we're playing against top opposition. I want to do well in every game that I play. "The European games, they're really good teams and if we do well in the next couple of games we'll be playing against some top opposition like we did last year. I set a standard and it's up to me to meet that standard, no matter what game it is." Bradley made a host of changes for the second leg against St Joseph's on Thursday after the Hoops cantered to a 4-0 victory in Gibraltar. "I definitely thought we were a much better team on the night. It will be full focus on Sunday. "It was actually a tough enough game. A good bit of credit has to go to them, they dug in and they defended really well. The main aim before the tie started was to go through and we've done that." On a lighter note, he is delighted that another Corkman has been added to the house he is sharing with Rory Gaffney, Lee Grace, John McGovern, Matt Healy and Ed McGinty. Even more so because the new arrival is his 19-year-old brother, Callum. "Yeah, it's good now," he smiled. "We haven't been fighting too much! I told him to bring up the PlayStation, so we're not fighting. "He's settled in really well. I'm full of faith that he'll be a really big player for the club in the future. He's a really good player now but he's got a lot of potential. That's a big reason why he came up here, to fulfil that potential."
