Taylor Swift's dad undergoes sudden major heart surgery with singer by his side
Taylor Swift's father has undergone major heart surgery after a check up with the doctor. Scott Swift, 73, who played a big role in his daughter's music career, had quintuple bypass surgery last month after his GP "saw something" concerning.
Quintuple bypass surgery is a very complex and serious procedure carried out to treat people with five severely blocked major arteries that pump the heart. Blood vessels are taken from another part of the body and transplanted onto each affected heart vessel to reroute blood flow around the blockages.
The surgery aims to improve blood supply to the heart, minimising pain, shortness of breath, and possibly the risk of cardiac-related death. Taylor's dad Scott, is said to be "doing great" following the serious operation, according to TMZ.
He was reportedly supported by the Love Story singer, his wife Andrea, and son Austin, throughout the surgery and during the recovery process, the Mirror reports.
Taylor's rep told the outlet that the surgery was not the result of a heart attack but had taken place because Scott's doctor "saw something".
They also confirmed that the dad-of-two is now "feeling just great".
Scott played a big role in Taylor's younger years, raising her and her younger brother Austin on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, US, before moving to Nashville to support the singer's music career.

Long before she became a Grammy-winning global superstar and billionaire, the Shake it Off star's parents said they were listening to her sing karaoke and driving her to local concerts near her hometown.
Scott told UDaily: "She was always singing music when she was 3, 5, 6, 7, years old. It's Taylor doing what she likes to do."
Meanwhile, mum, Andrea, said she always gave her daughter the option of Plan B, but said there was only ever path for Taylor.
She told Entertainment Weekly in 2008: "There would always be an escape hatch into normal life if she decided this wasn't something she had to pursue. And of course that's like saying to her, 'If you want to stop breathing, that's cool.' "
17 years on, Taylor is one of the biggest singers in the world.
The Belong You With Me singer is bigger than the recent Oasis craze despite Liam and Noel Gallagher selling out shows across the UK and the rest of the world for their current reunion tour.
While excitement is still very high for the band, data has found that Swift still has the bigger pulling power.
According to statistics, Taylor's 2024 Eras Tour proved to be more popular than the upcoming Oasis gigs.
Data shows that fans' total searches for Taylor Swift were one and a half times the number of views compared to Oasis.
The findings were compiled by comparing ticket sales from the week of each respective act's general on-sale date.
According to Viagogo, they found that Swift could have filled Wembley Stadium nine times more than Oasis based on global page views alone.

And every food vendor has been required to offer 100% plant-based options, removing all animal products from the arena for the evening. The menu included a peri-peri haloumi wrap, a corn naan, chipotle tacos, pizzas, and pancakes. While some of Billie's vegan fans praised her decision, others were left disappointed with the food options after paying upwards of £70 for their tickets. One attendee told MailOnline: 'Punters were less than impressed with the vegan options - a mixture of pizzas, cauliflower bits and loaded fries. Another asked: "Did they run out of meat or something?" When venue staff explained that the instruction had come from Billie, most customers weren't happy. Before the show started, Billie narrated a short film about veganism, the environment, and all of the steps they have taken on the tour to do their bit. The crew all eat plant-based food on tour, while her merch is made using sustainable practices. They also had an Eco Village at the O2 arena to raise awareness of climate change. Billie Eilish confirms romance with actor Nat Wolff as they kiss despite denying dating rumours Billie was raised as a vegetarian and has been a consistent advocate for animal rights and veganism, often discussing her beliefs when it comes to animals. Recently, she confirmed romance rumours with actor Nat Wolff after the pair were spotted snogging in the street. According to gossip site Deux Moi, the pair enjoyed their passionate moment on a balcony in Venice during a recent trip to Italy. Billie, who has been in the public eye since 2015, has seen her love life in the spotlight too. She previously dated rapper Q, singer Jesse Rutherford and actor Matthew Tyler Vorce in the past. It came after rumours of her relationship with the Los Angeles native started last year. At the time, a source close to the pair insisted they were "100 per cent a couple." Earlier this month, Apple Music released its 500 most played songs of all time. The entire list can be found on the streaming site for fans to listen too in full. But Billie closed out the top ten with her track - Bad Guy. This meant that Billie was the only woman to place in the top 10 of the list. But fans were shocked when Billie left completely empty handed from the Grammys. Billie was up for seven awards across the evening, including the coveted album of the year for her record, Hit Me Hard and Soft. However, her hopes of getting acknowledged were dashed when, in the last Grammy honoured of the evening, it went to Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter instead. 5 Recently, Billie confirmed romance rumours with actor Nat Wolff

ITV renews The Assembly for second series with more episodes as Hollywood star set to join
This year's series of the popular ITV show featured candid interviews with Danny Dyer, David Tennant, Jade Thirlwall and Gary Lineker and is now set to get an extended follow-up ITV's ground-breaking interview show The Assembly will return with an extended seven-part run next year after the success of the first series. And this time it will have a Hollywood star among the six big names being interviewed, with no questions off the table. It comes after Danny Dyer, David Tennant, Jade Thirlwall and Gary Lineker proved a huge hit with viewers, with producers now in talks with others from the worlds of TV, film, music and sport. A show source told the Mirror: "Bosses are thrilled that, not only is there a second series, but that they can do more episodes this time around, too. The appetite for this show has been huge. With so many ideas for celebrities to take part, it needed to come back with a longer run. The calibre of names being discussed is really impressive – it's looking like there could be a big Hollywood name in the mix." The series, hailed as 'the most groundbreaking TV show of the year' by one critic, saw a group of autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled people interview some of the UK's best known faces. Danny was left sobbing during his chat with the group as he looked back on his life, while Gary Lineker and David Tennant also got emotional. This time around, the rules will remain exactly the same: no question is off the table and no topic is out of bounds. The series will run to seven episodes - six new interviews plus a seventh episode, The Assembly: Unseen, containing extra footage. ITV entertainment commissioner David Smyth said the response to the first run had been 'thrilling'. 'There was no doubt in my mind that we needed to do more,' he added. 'I can't wait to see what questions The Assembly will put to our next group of bold celebrities and what their responses will be.' Producer Stu Richards, of Rockerdale Studios, laughed: "I cannot believe we're still getting away with this. The chance to make something that plays by almost none of the rules of normal telly is just such a ludicrous privilege. I'm absolutely buzzing." The series attracted huge critical acclaim when it launched earlier this year. LBC's Nick Ferrari declared: 'If there is a better show made for terrestrial television this year, I'd be staggered. It is breathtaking.' The Mirror called it 'a breath of fresh air' while the Radio Times agreed it was 'extraordinary'. ITV entertainment boss Katie Rawcliffe said that the series was 'ITV entertainment at its best'. She added: 'It's warm, funny, revealing and just that little bit mischievous. We've got lots of ideas about which famous faces will join for series two and we're eager to see what we'll learn from the fantastic questions The Assembly will have.' The show's format is an adaptation of French series Les Rencontres du Papotin, which made headlines when President Emmanuel Macron was asked if it was really role model behaviour to marry one's teacher.

Prince Harry has been 'bullied' says Princess who feels sorry for him An unexpected royal has admitted she "feels sorry" for Prince Harry in a bombshell interview. The Duke of Sussex is currently embroiled in a bitter rift with his father, King Charles and brother Prince William after levelling a series of accusations against them in his Netflix show and memoir, Spare. However, hopes of a reconciliation between Harry and his dad, the King, have been sparked after senior aides for father and son were spotted meeting at a private members' club in London. But discussing Harry's situation on a podcast was Princess Delphine of Belgium, who claimed she 'understands' the Duke's plight and said that "everyone is bullying him". The princess herself has also experienced family turmoil as she is the illegitimate daughter of Belgium's former monarch, King Albert II. A DNA test proved her paternity, and she later won a landmark ruling to be called a princess and styled as "Her Royal Highness". Cruelly, he was told women preferred his 'huggable dad bod' to his new honed physique, and he was told his muscles made him look 'aged and too lean'. But after three months of 'beast mode' weight training and boxing sessions to get him fighting fit for his current tour, Olly says, defiantly: 'I'm in the best shape of my life in my 40s.' The singer explains: 'I didn't get my body out there for people to judge it - I was just doing it for my own tour, and for my own laughs with my fans, and for looking good. I wanted to feel good. I wanted to represent myself at 40 on the biggest tour of my life, celebrating 15 years and being the healthiest and the fittest I could be.' 5 unhinged Donald Trump moments as Epstein row takes unexpected twist What's going on with my 'guys', and in some cases, 'gals'? Last night there was a twist in the Epstein row that nobody expected - and it's really unclear how it'll shake out. Meanwhile, Trump continued to call his most active supporters "stupid". And he's so determined to reduce the trade deficit with Mexico that he's convinced Coca-Cola to use real sugar - despite howls of protest from farmers. Here's all that, plus more things that happened in Trump world overnight ... 'I tried cheapest full English in Benidorm and I was left amazed' A British man was 'amazed' after trying the 'cheapest' full English breakfast available in Benidorm for less than £4. The Spanish municipality, based in the province of Alicante, is a firm favourite holiday destination for many British residents and Louis Grier is no exception. In fact, the 32-year-old has made the sunny seaside hotspot his home. Recently, Louis was impressed after spotting the iconic full English breakfast on offer for the low price of £3.90. He regularly updates his 43.2K TikTok followers on his life in Benidorm, sharing his experiences and tips for those looking to holiday or move there for themselves. In a recent video, which has so far pulled in more than 58K views, Louis ventured to Mariano's, a popular and well known restaurant in Benidorm, where he was keen to try the venue's take on the legendary full English breakfast.
