Pakistan Navy's combat readiness strengthened across all domains: Admiral Naveed Ashraf

Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf underscored the importance of operational preparedness as the key to success in modern warfare during a speech at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air War College Institute in Karachi on Monday, Radio Pakistan reported.
Addressing participants as the chief guest, Admiral Ashraf highlighted the significance of constant readiness and strategic foresight, citing recent developments along the eastern front as a critical example.
He also praised the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, commending the Pakistan Air Force's efforts in modernising and swiftly integrating advanced technologies. These measures, he said, have greatly improved the operational readiness of the Air Force and reshaped the region's deterrence strategy.

He added, "Pakistan Navy's combat capabilities have undergone significant enhancement across all operational domains, including surface, sub-surface, and aerial forces. This transformation has made our maritime force more agile and potent."
The navy chief stressed the necessity of cohesive national defence, emphasising the importance of inter-service collaboration. He revealed plans for more frequent joint operational exercises with the PAF, aimed at enhancing synergy and interoperability between the two institutions.
Admiral Ashraf also discussed the pivotal role of technological advancements in modern conflicts, specifically highlighting the importance of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
He announced a strategic collaboration between the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park and the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park to advance indigenous capabilities in unmanned systems.
This partnership, he said, will bolster Pakistan's technological self-reliance and enhance its operational edge in defence.
The navy chief further praised the Air War College Institute for its academic excellence, recognising its critical role in preparing future military leaders to tackle the complex challenges of modern warfare. He was welcomed by Air War College Institute President Air Vice Marshal Rashid Habib upon his arrival.

Pakistan Navy held the launching ceremony of PNS Sahiwal Gun Boat at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) here on Thursday. Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami graced the occasion as the chief guest, , said a news release issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy). Navy conducts exercise with Italian Navy ship PNS Sahiwal (Desig) Gun Boat has been indigenously designed by Platform Design Wing (PDW) of Pakistan Navy and is under construction at KS&EW. This state-of-the-art vessel will be equipped with high-performance, long-range semi automatic guns, enhancing its operational effectiveness in maritime missions, the Pakistan Navy stated. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Bilgrami appreciated joint efforts of PDW of Pakistan Navy and KS&EW in furthering Pakistan Navy's policy of indigenisation. He extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Defence Production for its continued support to KS&EW. President confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Chief of Royal Saudi Naval Forces
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the award of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Vice Admiral Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Ghoraibi, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The president presented the award during a special investiture ceremony held in Islamabad at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Saudi Arabia were also present in the ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy. The award was presented in recognition of Vice Admiral Al Ghoraibi's professional achievements and his role in strengthening the friendship between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the Pakistan Navy. Following the ceremony, the Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces called on the president. The president congratulated Vice Admiral Al Ghoraibi on receiving the award and acknowledged his efforts in promoting cooperation between the navies of the two brotherly nations. The president highlighted that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia, adding that the people and government of Pakistan deeply appreciate the Kingdom's support during challenging times. Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing engagements between the Pakistan Navy and the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, the president called for further enhancement of navy-to-navy collaboration. He appreciated the participation of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in Exercise AMAN-25 and AMAN Dialogue-25, held in February 2025, noting that such joint activities contribute to promoting maritime cooperation and mutual understanding. The president also praised the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, which he said is steering the Kingdom towards transformation, progress, and long-term prosperity. He expressed appreciation for the trust placed by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in the Pakistan Navy's training system and emphasized the importance of expanding training cooperation between the two navies. Libyan armed forces chief meets naval chief
RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, met with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at the Naval Headquarters. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence cooperation. Admiral Ashraf briefed the visiting dignitary on Pakistan Navy's initiatives to promote peace and maritime stability in the region through Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP). General Haftar appreciated the Pakistan Navy's efforts for ensuring maritime security and regional stability. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and Libya, particularly in the maritime domain.
