Feb 09, 2025
Cairo-based producer and DJ Mike Pham debuts a groove-heavy tech-house EP 'DJ Like This One' on Gawdat's MENA dance label, DancIN'.
Known for his infectious blend of colourful house and minimal sounds, Mike has been keeping Cairo's top dancefloors on its toes over the past six years, sharing decks with prominent international artists like Marco Carola, Alex Wann, Stephan Bodzin and Sama' Abdulhadi.
The two-track record marks a new chapter in Mike's musical journey, where he dabbles into the vibrant spectrum of tech-house sounds. The titular track is a refreshing dancefloor-ready mix of jazz and funk elements, energetic tech-house basslines and uplifting melodies. Meanwhile, on 'Kick It', Mike explores a quirky side of his music, diverging from the more minimal and mellow sound he previously embraced. The track features a sample from the famous 'American Boy' hit by British rapper Estelle and Kanye West, complimented by the vocals of the Cairene artist Lilly Farid, which add a more soulful texture to the song's structure.

Jessie J Shares Heartbreaking Update following Mastectomy
Yara Sameh British pop singer Jessie J has confirmed she's not cancer-free following her mastectomy. The 37-year-old "Price Tag" singer told her followers on Friday that her previous social media post had been "misunderstood" and "the cancer at present had unfortunately not all gone". Jessie also said she was awaiting test results and would be taking a hiatus from social media to focus on her recovery. She penned: "I posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was... the cancer has all gone,". "This was a positive affirmation, NOT a fact. I don't have my results yet. I added the [fingers crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand, and clearly a lot didn't,". Jessie added: "A weird situation. My fault for not being clearer. But for now, I do not have my results after surgery, which was only 6 nights ago. I pray it will be true soon, but the journey of cancer isn't that simple, unfortunately." The star concluded: "Tapping off socials for a week. Healthy and needed a reset. To focus on my recovery and saying stuff that gets twisted or misread. My head and boob hurts. Lol, Bye. Always loveeeee." The confusion came after the songstress shared an Instagram update on Thursday, which read: "Pros: Cancer has all gone." She also revealed her mastectomy surgery had gone well. Adding to her list of positives, she wrote: "I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever." Jessie also noted that her partner, Chanan Safir Colman, and their son, Sky, have been very supportive. The singer later said that while she'd written the words "cancer is gone", she ended the comment with a fingers-crossed emoji as "it's a hope, not a fact". "I only had my surgery 4 days ago. I was just saying the pros of surgery, and this situation, and being positive," Jessie added."But I will get my results soon. And hopefully I can post that as a fact. But for now, I don't know. But I will stay positive and talk what I want into the universe." read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Jun 27, 2025 Cairo-based rapper MARED continues to carve his own lane with 'Samo Fein?', a new release that merges personal quirks, cultural references, and satirical edge into one sharply produced package. The track, produced by YONYO, plays like a conversation between friends, or a social commentary wrapped in humour and memory. With his trademark laid-back delivery and quick wit, Mared lists everything from food trends to toxic masculinity, taking aim at contradictions that feel both ridiculous and real. 'Samo Fein?' balances sarcasm and sincerity, delivering critique through childhood nostalgia and clever turns of phrase, all while keeping things deeply Cairo-coded. The production is conversational yet cinematic, with YONYO inserting verbal prompts and sonic nods to a shared youth shaped by chaos and comedy. Whether he's unpacking masculinity or name-dropping local snacks, Mared turns cultural noise into relatable bars.
