Regis Le Bris' side won the Championship play-offs after finishing fourth in the second division to cap off an emotional comeback to the Prem.
And Sunderland are heading back in style with a new look as they unveiled their away kit.
The Premier League newcomers will be visiting their opponents in a blue jersey paying tribute to the club's proud maritime identity.
And the collar will have"City by the Sea" stitched into the back of the neck, while the inside will feature a poetic nod to The Lake Poets.
But fans were particularly in awe of the new badge that is quite different to their original crest.
One supporter tweeted: "Take my money now."
Another commented: "Beautiful."
A third wrote: "I love it."

Sunderland have often made changes to the badge for their away kit throughout the years.
But this time they have modified the colours, which makes it stand out to past alterations.
Nevertheless, that will not be the club's official crest for the season as the home jersey appears to have been leaked.
Based on photos that have surfaced across social media, Sunderland will continue playing with their original badge and signature red and white colours at the Stadium of Light.

Leeds United agree £15.6m transfer for Lyon's goalkeeper Lucas Perri - with Daniel Farke's new No 1 able to throw the ball 50 METRES to his team-mates
Leeds United have agreed a deal with Lyon for goalkeeper Lucas Perri worth £15.6million. The 27-year-old Brazilian is expected to become the new Leeds No 1. Perri's medical will take place at Leeds' pre-season training camp in Germany and he could feature in their next friendly on Saturday. With Frenchman Illan Meslier falling out of favour last season, a new keeper has been at the forefront of Leeds' priorities ahead of their return to the Premier League. Perri will become Leeds' seventh signing of the summer window - and went viral last season after recording a mammoth 50 metre throw during a match for Lyon. He began his career at Sao Paulo and spent time on loan at Crystal Palace, where he didn't play, and Nautico. Perri signed for Botafogo in 2022 before making the move to Lyon for £3.25M in January 2024. The 27-year-old Brazilian is expected to become the new Leeds No 1 ahead of the new season Last season, he made 45 appearances across all competitions and kept 13 clean sheets for the French side. Despite finishing sixth in Ligue 1, Lyon were initially relegated to Ligue 2 due to the poor state of their finances. But that decision was overturned after the seven-time champions were successful in their appeal earlier this month.

'I feel really fit and really strong'
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice says having a month's break followed by a full pre-season will make a "massive" difference to the way he starts the new along with several other Premier League players, had a quick turnaround from Euro 2024 and had just 16 days off to recover before returning to expects the much-needed downtime will boost his physical and mental performance."I'm putting really big demands on myself this year" said Rice. "I'm really trying to push myself because the back end of the season I finished really, really strong."At the start of the season last year, I was nowhere near the level I require of myself."I put it down to a few things. The back of the Euros final was mentally really tough."Having 16 days off and going straight back into a Premier League season was really, really hard. It took me a few months to get going again."But now I'm getting a full pre-season, I feel really fit, really strong and I'm going to try to kick off the new season really, really strong."

Liverpool learn Alexander Isak's huge wage demands as Newcastle star rejects big offer
As Liverpool target Alexander Isak asks to explore a move away from Newcastle United, here's where his wage demands would place him in the Premier League's top earners list Alexander Isak's wage demands would catapult him into the ranks of the Premier League's most handsomely rewarded stars if he did ultimately sign a new deal with Newcastle United. The striker continues to be linked with Liverpool despite the champions' £79million signing of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. Isak has now reportedly told the Magpies he wants to explore a move away from the club. And amid speculation over his future, Eddie Howe chose to send the Swede home from the pre-season game at Celtic last weekend. It has also been confirmed he will miss the club's pre-season trip to Asia with a minor thigh issue. Social media clips have emerged this week of Isak training on his own, and it could be a case of 'when' not 'if' he leaves Tyneside. Isak's representative, Gonzalo Gaitan, revealed recently that he is "studying and analysing all options." He told Saudi publication Arriyadiyah: "We may be close to finalising the next step for the player. Without revealing any details regarding whether Isak will transfer or stay with Newcastle." Discussions regarding a fresh Newcastle contract for Isak have been ongoing. His existing deal, which doesn't run out until 2028, is understood to be valued at £120,000 per week. Nevertheless, according to talkSPORT, Isak's camp has been pursuing a package that would secure their client £300,000 per week. Such terms fall outside Newcastle's present pay structure, and The Times have reported the club were prepared to go up to £200,000-a-week, but that was not agreeable to the player. Isak's huge demands would ultimately elevate him among the Premier League's top earners. According to Spotrac, just five top-flight players earn beyond that amount. Heading the way is Manchester City's Erling Haaland on £525,000. Next comes Mohamed Salah (£400,000), his Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk (£350,000), Manchester United's Casemiro (£350,000) and Raheem Sterling (£325,000) of Chelsea. Meanwhile, Ekitike is reported to be on around £250,000-a-week at Anfield. Howe addressed rumours about Isak as he explained his decision to send him home before the Celtic game. He said: "It was my decision. He travelled back to Glasgow with us, but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him." The Magpies boss added: "Yes, I've had discussions with him, but that's not abnormal. I respect a player's career and how short it is. Alex has been really good, he's trained really well and I realise there'll be noise around him. "We have a few of those players who are irreplaceable. Your top players are so hard to find, so hard to recruit and so hard to develop. "So when you have them, you need to treasure them. Of course, we're desperate to keep him as part of our team. I think it's difficult for me to ever give 100 per cent clarity on any player, I'd never do that. "All I can say is Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, the team. I've never had any issue with him and I'm confident he's going to be here at the start of the season." However, since those words, the landscape appears to have shifted, with Isak looking increasingly likely to be moving on, with Liverpool at the front of the queue for his services.
