The deal would lock Kaprizov in through the 2033–34 season, and his cap hit would take up approximately 14.4% of the Wild's projected salary cap in 2026–27. However, with the cap expected to rise in coming years, Minnesota appears willing to make that long-term commitment. Despite some injury setbacks this past season, team executives reportedly believe Kaprizov's production, leadership, and marketability justify the massive investment.
