K-pop idol makeup challenge: Have you tried the latest K-beauty trend?

K-pop girl group-inspired makeup is blowing up globally, with millions trying the soft, dewy Korean look-here's why it's the hottest beauty trend and how it's changing youth culture. If you've scrolled through Instagram or TikTok lately, you've probably seen it: international influencers and everyday youth showing off their "K-pop idol makeup challenge." What's the hype? It's all about that soft, glowing skin, subtle pink lips, and the signature under-eye sparkle-think Blackpink, IVE, or NewJeans vibes. The world is obsessed, and honestly, can you blame them? Just like how Bollywood stars set trends across the subcontinent, Korean idols are now the blueprint for global beauty. Their look is fresh, innocent, and somehow makes you look like you woke up flawless (even if you totally didn't). The numbers prove it: K-beauty content creators are racking up millions of followers, and Korean cosmetics are flying off shelves worldwide. According to a recent survey, cosmetics and perfumes are now the second most popular shopping category among foreign tourists in Korea, only behind fashion and leather goods. Even more interesting? Over 18% of shoppers say "Korean-ness" is a top reason for their purchase. From Seoul to Social Media: The Secret Sauce of K-Idol Makeup So what's so special about this makeup style? Unlike the heavy contouring you see in the West (think Hollywood red carpet), K-beauty is all about enhancing your natural features. The goal is to look youthful, soft, and approachable. The famous "aegyo-sal" (cute under-eye puff) is a must, usually highlighted with a touch of shimmer or a pale pink liner. Add a hint of blush, a gentle sweep of eyeshadow, and you're basically ready to debut on a music show. Beauty YouTubers from Vietnam to Ukraine are breaking down these techniques, and their videos are going viral. Even pro makeup artists say they're getting more requests from international clients who want that "innocent K-pop idol" look-because apparently, looking sweet is the new sexy. Why Are Young People So Obsessed? It's More Than Just Makeup Let's be real: this isn't just about looking cute. For a lot of international fans, copying K-pop makeup is a way to feel connected to their favorite idols and show off their love for Korean culture. It's also a flex-posting your own K-idol transformation says, "I'm trendy, open-minded, and totally down with global pop culture." Social media is the perfect stage for this, with hashtags like #KoreanMakeupChallenge racking up millions of views. Events like K-beauty pop-ups in Seoul's Myeongdong or workshops at Korean cultural centers in Europe are making it even easier for fans to get hands-on experience. It's not just a trend, it's a cultural exchange-and honestly, it's making the world a little more fun (and a lot prettier). The Indian Angle: Why We Totally Get the Craze If you think about it, Indian youth have always been quick to pick up global trends-whether it's K-dramas, K-pop, or now, K-beauty. There's something super relatable about wanting to look your best without going overboard. Just like how we love a natural glow and a pop of color on the cheeks, K-beauty is about celebrating what makes you unique, not hiding it. And let's not forget, both cultures are obsessed with skincare routines, sharing beauty tips with friends, and, of course, posting that perfect selfie. Maybe that's why this trend feels so close to home. After all, who doesn't want to look like a superstar, even if just for the 'gram? It's wild how a beauty trend from Seoul can make waves all the way to our timelines, but that's the magic of youth culture today-borderless, creative, and always up for a glow-up. Reporter's note: Watching this K-beauty wave hit global youth is like seeing a giant, sparkly group project-everyone's in on the fun, and honestly, everyone looks amazing.

BLACKPINK stars in first team photos in over 2 years: Check out Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa's fierce looks for JUMP

The BLACKPINK members have turned into chic babes once again! In new photos released ahead of their comeback with digital single JUMP, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have starred as the embodiment of their charms. Taking a page out of the Gen Z-inspired AI themes, the girl group has shared 'Visual Cut' images. In solo teaser photos, they have donned oversized puffer jackets in a very Balenciaga-esque moment. BLACKPINK JUMP Release Plan BLACKPINK is all set to drop a new single, their first in almost 3 years, and the fans couldn't be more excited. After teasing the track ahead of their world tour, the girls performed it live to their thousands of fans at the Goyang leg of the DEADLINE World Tour. Alongside a very on-brand rap-heavy lyric score, the girls also showcased their choreography for the song while performing it to about 78,000 BLINKs over 2 days. It earned wild reactions from the audience and increased the excitement for the upcoming release. In the newly released photos, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa can be seen taking on never-before-explored styling on them, with tight leather-like tops over skirts and shorts that come from the very brands they've been representing. Displaying the words 'JUMP' and 'high on hope' on their fits, the latter of which can be assumed to be a lyric in the song, they mean business. However, the background of their photos looks superimposed, so we're unsure if that bit was intended after all. The other set of solo images is starkly different and honestly right up our alley, as the four members' distinct styles can be seen shining. While Jisoo goes for a massive rose motif on her white jacket- a nod to her solo song FLOWER, Jennie's deep red puffer looks right out of her Mantra music video. Rosé brings out a unique touch of a cropped coat over a corset look and wet hair look, making the green work really well. Lisa's blue jacket bets everything on its collar as most of it is hidden, but her huge dangly earring caught in the moment adds fun to her look. BLACKPINK's JUMP drops on July 11 at 1 pm KST (9:30 am IST).

Labubu fan club gets a new member, Vishwak Sen seen dangling it on his Mercedes

Vishwak Sen is currently working on his next film, Funky, but putting that aside, the actor is now hitting headlines for a whole new reason. In a recent video, the Telugu actor was seen joining the latest trend of viral Labubu dolls. Vishwak Sen gets papped with his Labubu doll Vishwak Sen was recently papped as he drove around town in his Mercedes. In the video captured by Kamlesh Nand, the actor's car can be seen having a Labubu doll dangling behind it. As the Labubu doll has become a massive fashion trend, the actor was seen sporting his blue-colored monster figure. Moreover, Viswak himself was spotted driving his suave vehicle, looking handsome in a red t-shirt. Watch Vishwak Sen's papped video here: What is a Labubu doll? Labubu dolls are the latest fashion trend that has slowly taken over the internet. These creepy-cute-looking dolls are being sported as a fashion statement by the celebrities. Many are using it on their bags, cars or just holding it. For those unaware, the figurines are charming monster dolls that stray away from the concept of traditional dolls we are all familiar with. Instead of being cute and adorable, these dolls take on a more scary look with pointy sharp teeth, mischievous eyes, yet a charismatic look. Similar to Pokémon cards, Labubu dolls come in blind boxes, with a consumer not knowing what it looks like until bought and opened. While the dolls were initially manufactured in 2019, it was in 2024 that they shot to popularity when K-Pop idol and BLACKPINK star Lisa was seen carrying one. Later on, international icons like Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and David Beckham were also seen with their own collectible dolls. In contrast to usual figurines, Labubu mirrors the emotional and unhinged chaos that is settled within humans, making it a sensation amongst Gen-Z. Vishwak Sen's latest film Vishwak Sen was last seen playing the lead role in the Telugu-language action comedy Laila. The movie, directed by Ram Narayan, featured the story of Sonu, who disguises himself as a woman, Laila. The film, which is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, was a critical and commercial failure upon release. Owing to the film's failure, the actor even penned a gratitude-filled apology note to the audience. Moving ahead, the actor has films like Funky and a sequel to Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi in the lineup.
