Marvel Rivals Reveals The Next Two Heroes for Third Season: The Abyss Awakens
Just in, we have a new preview, and it reveals the long-awaited Blade as well as X-Man Jean Grey a.k.a. Phoenix. Check this out:

In the wake of the Timestream Entanglement, Knull stirs deep within Klyntar's core, stretching his shadowed hands across the cosmos. Power promised by the dark symbiote god beckons the awakening of a new queen. The Phoenix arrives from across the stars to erase Klyntar before the darkness can rise again! However, she'll require unlikely aid from a warrior of two worlds who lives to fight against the tide of night.
As the god of the symbiotes and the Phoenix Force collide, will you burn with the light of creation or embrace the darkness?
Blade has been seen resting in Wakanda for a while, so a lot of people are pretty happy to see him actually be up and about. As for Jean, she wasn't the first hero I would guess would be coming next, but she does tease the arrival of other X-Men soon.
Looking at the main villain of the season though, Knull is one of the newer comic creations, but his status as the Father of Symbiotes is essentially the reason why several heroes like Captain America, Squirrel Girl, Rocket, and Jeff are getting Venom-themed skins.
We don't know if everyone in the roster is getting one, but it definitely fits the stage of Klyntar, the planet of the symbiotes and Knull's homeworld (or more accurately prison).
Season 3 of Marvel Rivals launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 11.

Jurassic World Rebirth D-Rex Based on Classic Star Wars Monster
Every Jurassic movie kind of has to introduce a new kind of dinosaur, and with the recent Jurassic World Rebirth , the film introduces a new mutant dino in the form of the D-Rex. As it turns out, director Gareth Edwards actually took some inspiration from a classic Star Wars monster to give the creature its final look. In a recent interview with Collider, Edwards confirms that the D-Rex is partly inspired from the Rancor in Return of the Jedi . He says: 'Basically, you took everything in a melting pot. It's really hard to come up with a monster idea. We put in a little bit of the Rancor from Star Wars. Don't tell people who work on Star Wars.' For context, the Rancor is the creature that lives in Jabba's Palace and was killed when Jabba tried to feed Luke to it; they also made an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett . Of course, the Rancor wasn't the only thing that inspired the D-Rex; the classic T-Rex is still in its DNA, and Edwards also confirmed that there's some inspiration from H.R. Geiger's designs for Alien . Edwards also asked the designers to have a look at David Lynch's Elephant Man to give the D-Rex a kind of 'suffering monster' feel. Some are actually speculating that Edwards wanted to put a Rancor in Rogue One , but just couldn't find a way to until he needed a giant monster for Jurassic World . Admittedly, Jurassic World Rebirth didn't get the most sparkling reviews, but the movie is still tearing it up in cinemas. I guess people just love to watch dinosaurs regardless of what the critics say. Catch Jurassic World Rebirth now screening in theaters.

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey Drops One Tom Hardy Clone for Another
For a while it seemed like Tom Hardy was Christopher Nolan's golden boy, but it's been almost a decade since Hardy and Nolan worked together in a movie. What's funny is, Hardy look-alike Cosmo Jarvis ( Shogun ) had been cast in Nolan's The Odyssey, but he apparently had to leave the production because of scheduling conflicts, and according to Deadline, Jarvis was replaced by Logan Marshall-Green—who undoubtedly looks even more like Tom Hardy. Here he is in Prometheus getting poisoned by Michael Fassbender: We don't know yet what role Jarvis was originally set to play in the movie, but he missed out on being part of an all-star cast which includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, and many more. With Nolan usually taking on action-oriented sci-fi with his minimalist flare, it's going to be interesting to see him take on a huge fantasy epic like The Odyssey . We don't know exactly how he's going to switch things up, but I imagine that it's not going to be something like Lord of the Rings and Tenet put together. A teaser featuring Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal has already been playing in theaters, but it has leaked online if you're willing to go find it. That being said, there aren't any special VFX shots; but you can get the tone that Nolan is going for—and fans already can't wait to see what he's going to deliver. The Odyssey is expected to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.

Superman Director James Gunn on Comic Book Movie Moments We Don't Need to See Again
It's a big week for DC Studios, and James Gunn and the cast of Superman are hard at work doing press for the movie. With Gunn being a central figure in the comic book movie space, Gunn talks a bit about cbms and what he feels doesn't need to be adapted onscreen anymore. Talking to The Times (via @DiscussingFilm), Gunn says that his three comic book moments that don't need further recreation include: The Death of Batman's Parents Peter Parker Getting Bitten by the Radioactive Spider Baby Kal-El in a Tiny Spaceship. 'I don't need to see pearls in a back alley when Batman's parents are killed. I don't need to see the radioactive spider biting Spider-Man. I don't need to see baby Kal coming from Krypton in a little baby rocket.' Admittedly, this is just a testament to how many times Batman, Spider-Man, and Superman have been adapted onscreen; so it would track that their origins have been filmed and interpreted several times across several creatives. For more obscure characters that have only seen the spotlight recently like the Guardians of the Galaxy or Wonder Woman, I guess reinterpretations of their origins are still on the table. Personally, I think adapting the moments are fine as long as people are creative in the way that they're filmed. I personally love the visual flair that Snyder puts in Batman and Superman's origin, and Spider-Man: No Way Home does an interesting twist on the 'canon event' of Uncle Ben's death, only in that movie, it's May that dies. I'm personally irked that Gunn would be starting DC back at one with Superman , but I'm willing to let him cook if that means this franchise moves forward. Gunn's Superman comes out at the end of the week on July 11.
