Kanpur gears up for Shrawan festivities

Kanpur: With the auspicious month of Shrawan commencing on Friday and the first Shrawan Somwar (Monday) falling on July 14, all major Shiva temples in Kanpur have begun extensive preparations to ensure smooth observance of the rituals and effective crowd management.
Temples are not only being decked with decorations but are also coordinating with district authorities to implement effective crowd control measures.
Decorations are underway, and temple authorities are working in coordination with the district administration to facilitate the orderly movement of devotees. At Anandeshwar Temple, rituals will be performed under the supervision of Harigiri Maharaj, chief priest and patron of Juna Akhara.
The temple will be under round-the-clock surveillance, with 40 to 50 CCTV cameras installed to monitor the premises. Entry for darshan and rituals will be allowed only in a queue system, with volunteers assisting devotees throughout the process.
According to Priest Aru Giri, the temple doors will open at 2 a.m. following Mangala Aarti. The daily Bhog Aarti will be performed between 12:30 pm and 1:30pm, followed by Sandhya Aarti from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, and Shayan Aarti at midnight.

Except on Mondays, Mangala Aarti will begin at 4am daily.
At Kherapati Temple, also known as the Nag Devta Temple, a mela will be held on Nag Panchami, where snake charmers will traditionally decorate the idol of Lord Shiva with live snakes.
The Khereshwar Temple in Nawabganj will open its gates at 3am daily during Shrawan. Crowd management will be handled by Civil Defense volunteers, and 28 CCTV cameras will monitor the premises. According to Jitendra Pandey, convener of the management committee, a 76-kg silver door of the Garbh Griha will be inaugurated on July 14 between 11am and 12 noon. A series of special events are also planned at Khereshwar Temple across the Shrawan Mondays
At Vankhandeshwar Temple, Mangala Aarti will begin at 4am, and temple doors will open at 4:30am. On Nag Panchami, the Shiva Ling will be decorated with flowers. Approximately 1,100 lotas have been arranged for devotees to perform Jalabhishek. The Siddhanath Temple will open at 4am during Shrawan. After the morning Aarti, Rudrabhishek will be performed daily. However, the poor condition of the approach road from Jajmau Crossing to the temple could pose difficulties for devotees.
Similar arrangements and devotional programs have been planned at several other temples across the city, as Kanpur prepares to welcome thousands of devotees during the sacred month of Shrawan.

Kharkwal shared details of the 'Tiranga yatra', explaining that all corporators and municipal employees will be part of the parade in each ward. The goal is to thank the public and again underline the importance of cleanliness for Lucknow's future. Kolhapur: This school, located along the Maharashtra-Karnataka border in Kolhapur rural, is helping its students rise above local language politics and get a head start in global competition. All students here are taught English and Marathi. However, those interested can also take up foreign languages, including Japanese, German and Russian in higher classes. Overhead electric wire breakdown paralyses train movement between Mumbai and Bhusawal for 9 hours
Nashik: An overhead electric wire broke down between Devlali and Nashik Road railway stations at 2am on Sunday, paralysing train movements between Mumbai and Bhusawal for over nine hours, Central Railway official said. The incident caused delays to at least three trains, the diversion of four trains via Daund or Vasai, the rescheduling of two trains, and the cancellation of one train. The chief public relations officer of Central Railway said, "The train services were disrupted at 2am due to the breakdown of the overhead electric (OHE) wire. A team of employees and officials reached the spot, and the restoration work was completed by 11am. However, this delayed three trains and several other trains had to be diverted." Officials from Nashik Road said, "The OHE wire broke down after train 10757 Mumbai-Hyderabad Devgiri Express passed through the section between Devlali and Nashik Road railway station at 2am, leading to the paralysis of services on the Mumbai Nashik route 'down' track. The fourth train, 22223 Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express, was diverted via Kalyan, Lonavla, Pune, and then to Shirdi. The railways rescheduled the journey of two other trains by approximately four hours without changing their routes.
