would be deported to Pakistan within 15 days. Till then, he would be allowed to stay at the residence of his parents' guest, but he will have to give attendance at Khadak police station till the deportation process is completed," DCP (special branch) and head of foreigners' registration office Milind Mohite said. The state's case was that Ansari was found in possession of three Pakistani passports, an Indian passport, and other forged documents and he was illegally staying in the country without a valid visa between August 13, 2015, and March 14, 2023.
He was arrested on March 15, 2023.Ansari's lawyer, Zaheer Pathan, told TOI, "My client deposited a fine of Rs 10,000 as per the court order. He was released from jail on Wednesday evening, but he was taken into custody by the Khadak police for the purpose of recording his statement."Khadak police's senior inspector, Shashikant Chavan, said, "We would produce the accused before the Foreigners Registration Office and submit a report to initiate the process to deport him to Pakistan."The court has allowed the accused to retain the Pakistani passports and ordered the competent authorities to confiscate his Aadhar card and PAN card. The accused was directed to execute a personal bond and surety bond of Rs 30,000 within eight days of his release.Additional Public Prosecutor Anil Kumbhar relied on the testimonies of six witnesses to show that the accused suppressed information about his birth and nationality for securing an Indian passport and travelled to Dubai.Judge Salunkhe, in his 40-page judgment, said, "The Aadhar card, PAN card, college leaving certificate, and Indian passport issued to the accused are genuine. Therefore, there was no reason for the accused to have any dishonest or fraudulent intention to use them or make others believe that they are genuine documents. The accused did not commit offences of cheating and forgery of the documents. He used the same for bona fide purposes."The judge opined that it was clear from the record that the visa of accused expired and he applied for a long-term visa, which was pending consideration. Unless the decision on his application is taken by the competent authority, it cannot be said that his stay in India is illegal. There are no allegations that the accused breached the visa conditions. After the expiry of his grandmother, the accused applied for an Indian passport to meet his brother in the UAE. He mentioned his birthplace as Pune and citizenship of India by birth. He used the Aadhar card and PAN card as proof. This amounts to suppressing information about his nationality within the meaning under section 12 (1A) (a) of the Passport Act, the judge said, adding that the prosecution proved its case under the Act but did not prove other offences against the accused.

Enforcement Directorate searches against the companies of Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani in Mumbai continued for the third day on Saturday with the agency recovering a number of documents and computer peripherals from multiple locations, official sources said. The raids were launched on July 24 by the federal probe agency as part of an alleged Rs 3,000 crore worth bank loan fraud-linked money laundering case apart from multiple other allegations of financial irregularities with crores of rupees by certain companies. The searches, being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), are continuing at some locations out of the more than 35 premises that were covered in Mumbai since Thursday, the sources premises belong to 50 companies and 25 people including a number of executives of the Anil Ambani Group companies. ED sources had said the investigation primarily pertains to allegations of illegal loan diversion of around Rs 3,000 crore, given by the Yes Bank to the group companies of Ambani between 2017-2019. Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure, two companies of the group, had on Thursday informed the stock exchanges saying while they acknowledge the action, the raids had "absolutely no impact" on their business operations, financial performance, shareholders, employees, or any other stakeholders."The media reports appear to pertain to allegations concerning transactions of Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM) or Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) which are over 10 years old," the companies had ED, the sources had said, has found that just before the loan was granted, Yes Bank promoters "received" money in their agency is investigating this nexus of "bribe" and the sources said the ED is also probing allegations of "gross violations" in Yes Bank loan approvals to these companies including charges like back-dated credit approval memorandums, investments proposed without any due diligence/credit analysis in violation of banks credit loans are alleged to have been "diverted" to many group companies and "shell" (bogus) companies by the entities agency is also looking at some instances of loans given to entities with weak financials, lack of proper documentation of loans and due diligence, borrowers having common addresses and common directors in their companies etc., the sources said. These reports indicate, the sources said, that there was a "well-planned and thought after scheme" to divert or siphon off public money by cheating banks, shareholders, investors and other public institutions. The Union government had informed the Parliament recently that the State Bank of India has classified RCOM along with Ambani as 'fraud' and was also in the process of lodging a complaint with the CBI. A bank loan "fraud" of more than Rs 1,050 crore between RCOM and Canara Bank is also under the scanner of the ED apart from some "undisclosed" foreign bank accounts and assets, the sources said. BB OTT 3 Fame Adnaan Shaikh SCAMMED In Gym Business Of Rs 5 Lakh By Close Friend: 'I Trusted…'

Adnaan Shaikh said that a person he had known since childhood, someone from his inner circle, ended up scamming him. He told Hindustan Times, 'The very person I trusted most, someone from my inner circle, mismanaged my gym business and scammed me. It led to the loss of money and theft of costly gym equipment – over rupees 5 lakhs." It all started in June this year when the individual, a close friend of Adnaan's brother, reached out for support. 'He was well known to me and my brother. He was more like a friend and also lived close by. I even helped fund his sister's wedding," Adnaan said. When Adnaan launched his first gym in Mumbai, a dream he had nurtured for years, he gave the person the responsibility of managing its social media. 'Soon he requested a job, and I gave him one in my gym. But sadly, within a year and a half, he broke that trust," Adnaan said. Adnaan said that he initially ignored discrepancies in the accounts, but things eventually added up. 'I avoided the prevailing discrepancies in accounts for some time. But then I had to confront him," he added. The person attempted to cover up the fraud with a false excuse. Adnaan revealed, 'I cross-checked only to know it was a lie. That's when I realised it was all made up. Eventually, he confessed to stealing around Rs 4 lakh." The betrayal hit Adnaan hard, prompting him to take legal action. 'After this incident, I've become very cautious. It has made it difficult for me to trust new people. Rebuilding that kind of faith takes time," he also mentioned. Looking back, he admitted that warning signs were there. 'Despite occasional doubt, I continued to trust him because of our long-standing association," he explained. Now, Adnaan has a strong message for others, 'I ask all to be cautious about who you trust with your business or personal responsibilities. No matter how long you've known someone, always maintain proper accountability and regularly monitor your finances. Learn from my experience. Stay alert, stay aware, and protect your hard-earned money." Adnaan Shaikh is a popular social media influencer, who makes content on fitness, travel, and his family. He got married last year after participating in Bigg Boss OTT 3 with Sana Makbul, Ranvir Shorey, Delhi's famous Vada Pav girl Chandrika Dixit, and others. The influencer was recently blessed with a baby boy.

Man steals cheques from Coimbatore bank drop box, deposits them in his account

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore city police are searching for a man who stole cheques from a bank drop box and deposited them in his account. Sathish, a customer of a private bank's branch in RS Puram, deposited two cheques totalling Rs 14,000 in the bank's collection drop box on July 5. When the amount was not credited to his account even after six days, Sathish visited the bank to discuss the matter with branch manager Ramkumar. Upon checking the cheque status, Ramkumar discovered that the amount had been credited to a different account. Ramkumar filed a formal complaint with the RS Puram police. The police obtained CCTV footage showing a man opening the drop box and stealing the cheque, which was later deposited into another account. The police said, "It is highly unusual to deposit cheques issued in someone else's name. We have CCTV footage and details of the account where the money was credited. The involvement of bank staff cannot be ruled out, as such operations would be difficult without insider assistance. We are investigating all possible angles." According to bank sources, more than 10 cheques worth over Rs 1.40 lakh have been stolen and encashed through different accounts. The police registered a case. Further investigations are on.
