Vin Diesel Teases Paul Walker's Return for "Fast and Furious 11," Confirms April 2027 Release Window

Yara Sameh
Vin Diesel just dropped some major news for fans of the 'Fast and Furious' franchise.
Earlier this weekend, Diesel joined his 'Fast and Furious' co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker at Fuel Fest 2025, a car enthusiast event in Pomona, California, and shared what to expect from the final 'Fast and Furious' film and confirmed a tentative release window of April 2027.
'The studio said to me, 'Vin, can we please have the finale of 'Fast and Furious' [in] April 2027?'' he said. 'I said, 'Under three conditions.' First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O'Conner.'
Paul Walker, the beloved actor who played cop-turned-street-racer-turned-cop-turned-street-racer, died in a car crash at 40 in 2013.

The franchise has already brought Walker back to screens via CGI magic before. When Walker passed away, he hadn't finished his scenes on Furious 7, so the production team used his brothers Caleb and Cody as stand-ins and used face-replacement technology to finish things out. That being said, Furious 7 was already well into production, and Walker had shot numerous scenes for the film before his tragic death.
The latest film in the franchise, 'Fast X,' was released in May 2023. It grossed over $700 million worldwide at the end of its run against a colossal production budget of $340 million.
Starring Diesel, Alan Ritchson, Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson, the film was advertised as the first part of a two-part saga upon its release.
