Will Team India Boycott Pakistan In World Cup After WCL Snub? Salman Butt Dares BCCI
In a dramatic turn of events, the India vs Pakistan clash in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) was called off after several Indian players, led by Yuvraj Singh, withdrew from the high-voltage encounter. The move, which came amid rising nationalist sentiment and backlash over geopolitical tensions, has ignited a fiery debate over the future of Indo-Pak cricket—stretching even to global platforms like the ICC World Cup and the Olympics. What was expected to be a nostalgic face-off between cricketing legends turned into a diplomatic flashpoint. The game, slated for Sunday in Birmingham, was scrapped just hours before the toss, prompting accusations, finger-pointing, and some stinging commentary from the Pakistani camp. Salman Butt's Explosive Reaction: "Now Don't Play in World Cup or Olympics Either" Leading the charge was former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, who lambasted the Indian contingent for their decision to pull out. In a hard-hitting video on his YouTube channel, Butt accused India of politicizing sport and challenged them to maintain the same stance across all major events—including ICC tournaments and even the Olympics. 'Make this a promise now,' Butt declared. 'If you're boycotting here because of politics, don't face us at the World Cup, don't compete in the Olympics. Let the world see how consistent your nationalism really is.' Butt's comments have since gone viral across social media, fueling widespread discussion about the limits of sporting diplomacy and whether political decisions should dictate team participation in international fixtures. The Fallout: Pressure, Patriotism, and Public Sentiment The Indian players' decision to back out reportedly stemmed from the public backlash following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which triggered a strong military response from India via Operation Sindoor. Key figures including Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Yusuf Pathan are said to have withdrawn in solidarity, unwilling to be seen sharing a field with their Pakistani counterparts. While WCL organisers issued an apology, stating they had 'unintentionally caused discomfort' to Indian players, the damage was already done. What was meant to be a celebration of cricketing nostalgia quickly escalated into a diplomatic drama. Expert Take: National Identity vs Global Sporting Spirit From a broader lens, this episode raises critical questions: Should political tensions override sporting commitments? Can India-Pakistan matches exist in a vacuum, untouched by the historical baggage they carry? Analysts believe this controversy is just the tip of the iceberg. With major tournaments like the Asia Cup, ICC T20 World Cup 2026, and even the Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, calls for an official stance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are growing louder. 'Consistency is key,' said one cricket analyst. 'If India refuses to play Pakistan at one level, they'll face mounting pressure to do the same at all levels. But that also risks isolating cricket from global diplomacy, where such matches often act as soft-power engagement tools.'

Sarfaraz Khan's 17 Kg Weight Loss Shocks Fans: Inside His No Rice, No Roti Diet Plan
In an era where fitness is as critical as form, Sarfaraz Khan has delivered a powerful message. The 27-year-old Mumbai batter, often in the spotlight for his run-scoring prowess in domestic cricket, is now grabbing headlines for an incredible off-field achievement—shedding a whopping 17 kilograms in just over two months. His dramatic physical transformation has left fans, pundits, and selectors stunned, reigniting conversations around fitness standards in Indian cricket. — The Bharat Army (@thebharatarmy) July 21, 2025 Sarfaraz, who made his long-awaited Test debut earlier this year against England, wasn't picked for the ongoing India vs England series. While many questioned his omission, the right-hander decided to channel his disappointment into discipline. A recent Instagram story showing his leaner physique went viral, with reports confirming a 17kg weight drop since May. He may not be in the current Test squad, but Sarfaraz played a key role in the India A Tour of England preceding the main series, even scoring a century—reminding everyone of his pedigree. Now, his renewed fitness commitment only strengthens his case for a return. 'No Rice, No Roti': Inside Sarfaraz Khan's Diet Plan The cornerstone of Sarfaraz's transformation lies in a strict, nutrient-focused diet curated and implemented with help from his father and coach, Naushad Khan. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Naushad explained the family's rigorous dietary shift: 'We completely cut out roti, rice, sugar, and all bakery products. Our meals were full of greens—broccoli, cucumber, carrots—paired with grilled fish, chicken, and boiled eggs. We even replaced regular beverages with green tea and green coffee.' Also included in their regimen were nutrient-dense options like avocados, sprouts, and salads. Importantly, cheat meals—including Sarfaraz's favorite biryani—were off the table. This wasn't a crash diet. It was a lifestyle overhaul—a decision rooted in long-term fitness goals, not just short-term aesthetics. The Role of Discipline and Consistency While diet was key, it was consistency that fueled Sarfaraz's results. His transformation was not just physical but mental. The ability to say no to cravings, follow a daily routine, and stay focused despite being left out of the national team reflects elite-level mindset and maturity. Naushad himself lost 12 kg during this phase, underscoring the family's collective commitment. What began as a necessity turned into a movement of discipline—one that may have changed the course of Sarfaraz's career. Why This Matters: Fitness Is Non-Negotiable in Modern Cricket For years, Sarfaraz has been one of the most prolific domestic performers in India, especially in the Ranji Trophy. Yet, his fitness was often seen as a chink in his armor—perhaps even costing him extended runs in the Indian side. In modern international cricket, where athletes are expected to maintain peak physical condition, Sarfaraz's story highlights an essential truth: talent alone isn't enough. With this transformation, he's bridged that gap—combining form with fitness. Former cricketers have already voiced disapproval over his omission. But if he continues this level of personal discipline, national selectors may have no choice but to revisit his name sooner than later. A Message to Young Cricketers: Prioritize Health Early Sarfaraz's journey is a lesson in perseverance, self-awareness, and evolution. For upcoming cricketers across the country, his story stands as proof that setbacks can be springboards for reinvention. In a sport where margins are thin, taking control of one's body can often be the difference between potential and performance. As India builds its next generation of cricketers, players like Sarfaraz—those willing to do the hard work off the field—will be critical to the team's success.

India XI vs England: Hero Of 2nd Test Win All But Out, Report Says Prasidh Krishna To Fight For Slot With...
Soon after gently rolling his arm over in the field of play, Akash Deep cut a forlorn figure as uncapped Anshul Kamboj and Prasidh Krishna bowled full tilt at India's first outdoor training session ahead of the fourth Test. Akash Deep, who has been nursing a groin injury since the Lord's Test, did not get the green light from the team physio to have a go at the nets soon after undergoing a bowling fitness evaluation in the middle under the watchful eyes of coach Morne Morkel. Minutes later, he was a spectator to the net session standing alongside Arshdeep Singh who has been ruled out of the game due to a hand injury. If Akash Deep, who took 10 wickets India's win in Birmingham, too is deemed unfit, the team management will need to choose between Prasidh Krishna or Anshul Kamboj for the third pacer's slot alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Kamboj, who joined the team over the weekend as a cover for the injured Arshdeep, was on Monday added to the main squad, raising the possibility of a surprise debut. The pacer from Haryana bowled for close to an hour in the nets with high intensity alongside Siraj, Bumrah, Prasidh and Shardul Thakur. Kamboj was also seen padded up for a brief batting session alongside Thakur, who could be a direct replacement for injured all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Siraj had the highest intensity bowling against the likes of Shubman Gill, K L Rahul and Rishabh Pant while Bumrah moved to the field of play for more bowling after finding the practice surface slippery. Rishabh Pant bats and keeps pain free All eyes were also glued to Rishabh Pant, who had not kept wickets at the Lord's after getting on his fingers while keeping wickets on the opening day of the second Test. While batting on day five, Pant was grimacing every time he defended against a seriously quick Jofra Archer. Considering he performed keeping drills and batted pain free for an hour, Pant looks fit enough to start the fourth Test. Pant is always up for some banter even with his own teammates and that was evident when he shared the nets with skipper Shubman Gill. There is also speculation over Karun Nair 's slot in the playing eleven but he batted with plenty of purpose. So was the case with Sai Sudharsan, who could replace Nair in the playing eleven. The southpaw was also seen taking catching practice in the slip cordon. With Nitish Reddy on his way back to India, Yashasvi Jaiswal was back doing catching drills in the slip cordon.
