I only believe in myself and Jassi bhai.'
The comment was on Siraj's famous quote after India won the T20 World Cup in Barbados in 2024. After winning the trophy, Siraj had said: 'I only believe in Jassi bhai, the game-changing player he is.'
With the series level at 1-1, the third Test will be played at Lord's, starting from Thursday.

ENG vs IND 4th Test: IND bowlers helpless as Root-Pope dominate 1st session

It was all England in the morning session of Day 3 action of the 4th Test of 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England in Manchester, as the hosts played a brilliant wicketless session to take their total from the overnight score of 225 for 2 to 332 for 2. The hosts are now only 26 runs away from India's first innings total of 358. Indian bowlers started the day in aggressive fashion but soon lost their morale and rhythm, which the English duo of Pope and Root took full advantage of. The first session of the day began with England resuming their innings at the overnight score of 225 for 2, with Joe Root (11 not out) and Ollie Pope (20 not out) at the crease. The duo took a cautious start to the day and kept playing sensible cricket to take their partnership for the third wicket past 50, keeping England rolling. India had two good wicket chances — one when Pope edged a ball to short cover, but it fell in no man's land, and the second when, in a rare scenario, Jadeja fumbled a throw and missed a chance to run out Root on the final ball of the 54th over. Just before the first drinks break of the day, Root took his total to 31 to become the third-highest run-scorer in Test cricket history, surpassing Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis. The Englishmen continued to attack post drinks as well. Ollie Pope, in the 64th over, completed his 16th Test half-century to make it three out of three 50-plus scores by England's top three in the innings, before Root made it four out of four in the 69th over. By the time the session ended, Joe Root (58 not out) and Ollie Pope (66 not out) had added 107 runs to the hosts' overnight total to complete a dominant session. Sreeja Akula – ‘I didn't focus on rankings, was well prepared' after beating Paris Olympics bronze medallist Hina Hayata

Hyderabad paddler Sreeja Akula caused yet another upset on the international circuit, in pursuit of defending her Lagos WTT Contender title, when she beat Paris bronze medallist Hina Hayata 11-7, 11-8, 11-3 in the very first round she played. The Japanese world no 11 had arrived at WTT Contender Lagos 2025, with title ambitions but those were interrupted by Sreeja, seeded ninth, in straight games. The Indian 26-year-old is ranked No 57, and there was a ranking gap of 46 positions in the ITTF World markers with Hayata the red-hot favourite heading into Thursday's showdown, but was in for a difficult day at the office, according to the WTT website. 'Known for her shrewd acumen and incredible defensive prowess, it was always going to be a demanding challenge to break down Akula. And Hayata would fall short on this occasion as Akula remained steadfast to close out a stunning 3-0 victory over the World No.11,' WTT wrote. In the other half of the draw, No.2 seed Honoka Hashimoto was off to an easier start dropping just six points across three games in her clash with qualifier Kabirat Ayoola (11-1, 11-3, 11-2). But Sreeja's donination of Hayata was from the outset as she sealed a spot in the round of 16, hoping to defend her crown. Sreeja had become the first Indian to win a WTT Contender in a fine showing in June of 2024, and announced herself as a winner to be taken note of at Nigeria. She returned to the event, and immediately caused a stir. The electric upset lit up the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, according to Premium Times Nigeria. 'I was well-prepared for the match, even though it was my first time playing against her,' Akula told Premium Times, post-match. 'She's the top-ranked player, but I didn't focus on rankings. I just concentrated on my game, and I'm happy with how I played.' The paper further wrote: 'It wasn't just the win; it was the manner Akula showed remarkable composure and shot selection, barely allowing Hayata a foothold. It was a performance laced with both tactical maturity and emotional calm. For Akula, Lagos has fast become more than a tournament stop; it's now a proven fortress. 'Being the defending champion gives me a lot of confidence. I won both the women's singles and doubles titles last year. Lagos has been a good hunting ground for me, and I'm really happy to be back. I just want to play my best and enjoy the tournament,' she added to PT Nigeria.

Root, Pope dominate Indian attack as England make 332/2 at lunch

Manchester, Jul 25 (PTI) The Indian bowlers did not pose enough threat for the seasoned Joe Root and Ollie Pope who brought up fluent half-centuries, steering England to 332 for two in a wicketless morning session on day three of the fourth Test here on Friday. After a forgettable evening session on day two, the Indian bowling attack once again failed to make inroads into the England batting. Root (63 batting off 115 balls) and Pope (71 off 123) forged an unbeaten 135-run stand that threatened to take the game away from India, who led only by 26 runs after posting 358 in their first innings. Besides an odd ball keeping low from the James Anderson end and another jumping from the opposite side, Jasprit Bumrah and Co did not trouble Root and Pope. Guilty of offering too many freebies on the leg side on Thursday, the Indian pacers continued to offer loose balls to release pressure on the opposition. Bumrah bowled a full ball into Root's pads to start his day and the England veteran duly flicked it for a four. Later in his spell, Pope and Root were quick to pull Bumrah for a boundary each when the Indian pace spearhead pitched it short. Resuming the day at 225 for two, England eased to 266 for two in the first hour of play. Anshul Kamboj, who had an underwhelming start to his Test career on day two, created a chance in his opening spell but stumper Dhruv Jurel could not hold on to a tough chance. Pope was on 48 at the time, Root took a single off Mohammed Siraj in the 58th over to become the third highest leading run scorer in Tests. He is expected to surpass Ricky Ponting in the series and when that happens, he would only be behind the great Sachin Tendulkar, who amassed 15921 runs. Washington Sundar was introduced as late as the 69th over and Root put him under pressure straightaway by reverse sweeping him for a boundary.
