MLB suspends Cubs minor leaguer Anhuar Garcia 60 games for PED use
June 24 - Chicago Cubs minor league pitcher Anhuar Garcia was suspended for 60 games without pay on Tuesday after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance, Major League Baseball announced.
The 21-year-old right-hander tested positive for methenolone, an anabolic steroid that is in violation of the Joint Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, according to MLB.
Garcia, a native of Mexico who is in his first season with the Cubs organization, is 1-3 this season with a 5.91 ERA, 14 walks and 35 strikeouts in 32 innings over seven games (six starts) for the Cubs in the Arizona Complex League.
The Cubs placed Garcia on the restricted list on Tuesday with the suspension effective immediately.

June 28 - Agustin Ramirez singled in the winning run in the 10th inning and the Miami Marlins overcame a four-run deficit to extend their season-best winning streak to six games with an 8-7, 10-inning victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix on Saturday. Ramirez had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two. Otto Lopez homered and drove in three while extending his hitting streak to nine games, during which he is 16 of 37 with 13 RBIs. Ketel Marte hit a three-run homer and drove in four, Geraldo Perdomo had three hits and scored twice and James McCann had two hits and an RBI for the D-backs, who have lost three in a row. Royals top Dodgers to snap 11-game home skid
June 28 - Kansas City's offense woke up after Shohei Ohtani exited from tossing two scoreless innings, and the Royals snapped their 11-game home skid with Saturday's 9-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Vinnie Pasquantino led Kansas City with a three-run homer and five RBIs. Bobby Witt Jr. and Jonathan India each had four hits for the Royals, who scored one more run than they did while losing their previous six games overall. Meanwhile, Royals pitcher Seth Lugo (5-5) allowed four hits and five walks while striking out eight over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. Daniel Lynch IV yielded a solo homer to Freddie Freeman, who had three hits, in the seventh, but the potent Dodgers did not threaten until a four-run ninth. After going an inning in each of his first two 2025 starts, Ohtani was stretched to two innings on Saturday. He allowed a first-inning single to Witt and walked Maikel Garcia but got Pasquantino to hit into a 4-6-3 inning-ending double play. The right-hander then retired the side in the second, completing his 27-pitch performance. Rays take command, clamp down against Orioles
June 28 - Jonathan Aranda smacked a two-run home run and Yandy Diaz had a three-run blast to support stellar pitching from Zack Littell in the Tampa Bay Rays' 11-3 romp past the host Baltimore Orioles on Saturday. Littell (7-7) avenged a June 17 home loss to Baltimore, striking out five and limiting the Orioles to three hits in seven innings. Jake Mangum had three hits, while Josh Lowe, Diaz, Junior Caminero and Chandler Simpson all had two hits for the Rays, who've won four of their last five games. Matt Thais provided a two-run triple and Taylor Walls also knocked in two runs. A day after blowing a 6-0 lead in a 22-8 loss Friday night, the Rays stayed in command in this game. Chadwick Tromp's two-out solo home run in the fifth inning broke up the shutout bid. Ramon Laureano added a two-run shot in the ninth.
