They are known for a number of smart home products which enable remote control of devices

Wemo products from Belkin are expected to shut down as early as 2026.
This follows an announcement made in an email from Belkin which was sent to customers, where they said: "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end technical support for older Wemo products, effective January 31, 2026.
"After this date, several Wemo products will no longer be controllable through the Wemo app."
Remote access and voice assistant integrations in their smart home products are included in the shutdown.
As a result, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which rely on cloud services to manage smart home devices, will no longer be able to be used with Wi-Fi based Wemo products.
It involves products that were still for sale as recently as 2023.
However there are a number of devices that will continue to function as normal through HomeKit over Thread.
This includes devices like the Smart Light Swith 3-Way, Stage Smart Scene Controller, Smart Plug with Thread and the Smart Video Doorbell Camera.
Wemo products configured for use with Apple HomeKit will also continue to function via HomeKit, but with the absence of the Wemo cloud services and app.
Devices still supported under warranty will be able to claim a "partial refund" from January 31 next year, according to Belkin.
Doomed gadgets to STOP working properly in 2025 closures – phones, laptops & even home thermostats to go wrong in weeks
This includes the Mini Smart Plug, Outdoor Plug, Mini Plugin Switch, Smart Light Swtich, Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch w/ Dimmer and Mini Smart Plug.
There are a number of products that will not be able to be available for a refund.
It is recommended by Belkin to dispose of any Wemo products that are out of warranty, at an authorised e-waste recycling centre.
Here is the full list of products affected by the shutdown:

The supermarket's brand new Life Hacks range is designed for simple solutions in daily tasks. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 Aldi's new Pet Auto Waterer or Feeder Credit: Aldi 3 The device makes sure animals get their sustenance while owners are away Credit: Getty Aldi's brand new tech range Stock in this range is limited, as it is part of Aldi's Specialbuys programme. This includes the Pet Auto Waterer or Feeder, which comes in at £5.99 altogether. It uses auto-gravity design with non-slip rubber bases to ensure pets remain fed and hydrated while owners are away. Conversely, the Robot Vacuum Cleaner is the most expensive, at £99.99. The flashy device combines suction, sweeping and mopping functions. This tech can be controlled through a smartphone app - and is also compatible with Google, Alexa and Siri voice assistants. Users can activate the device through voice command, as well as schedule cleaning sessions remotely. Aldi described the Robot Vacuum Cleaner as "the ultimate cleaning hack for busy bees with limited time for the everyday burdens." Priced at £29.99, the Smart Kettle can be switched on remotely from bed - thanks to control via Bluetooth and WiFi. It also boasts impressive temperature control from 40°C to 100°C, along with a "keep warm" capability. Beloved grocery chain 'better than Costco' to open new store as part of expansion after buying closed Winn-Dixie site The Life Hacks range also includes a Wireless Charging Clock for £14.99 and a Mini Thermal Printer from £9.99. Rounding it out are a Smart Adapter and Fake Safe Assortment, each priced at £6.99. Aldi also launched a bedding bargain Elsewhere, the supermarket is selling a £15 bedroom essential intended to keep you cool during warm nights. Aldi's Always Cool Duvet hits shelves from July 10 and is available in a double size for £14.99 and king size for £16.99. The 4.5 tog polyester duvet is designed with moisture-wicking technology to absorb sweat and help to regulate body heat for a more comfortable night's sleep. The product can be found in Aldi's middle aisle, and comes as Brits are set to sizzle in more scorching temperatures of up to 31C this weekend. It's also a whopping £38 cheaper than John Lewis' summer duvet. The retailer's Climate Control Duvet, which is also 4.5 tog and uses similar sweat-wicking technology, costs £55 for a king size.

The 55p supermarket iced coffee that's better than a Starbucks carton
Check how to cut costs at the supermarket CAFFEINE KICK The 55p supermarket iced coffee that's better than a Starbucks carton Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NOTHING tastes better on the early commute or school run than a refreshing iced coffee on a rushed summer morning. No wonder iced coffee sales have shot up 22% in the UK over the last five years, according to trend-watcher Innova 360. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 8 Lucy Tobin has tested iced coffees on sale in supermarkets Credit: Peter Jordan The cheapest way to make them is, of course, to do it yourself at home. But if you love the luxury treat of a barista brew, there's an easy way to replicate it for less. Just pick up a canned iced latte for as little as 55p from your local coffee shop or supermarket. That's an absolute bargain compared to high street options: Starbucks is currently selling its venti iced latte for over £5 in London stores. Below I put iced coffee to-go to the test, pitting big brand names like Starbucks and Nescafé against budget rivals from the supermarkets. Emmi Caffè Latte Cappuccino Iced Coffee 230ml £1.85 from Sainsbury's 8 Emmi's iced cappuccino is the perfect drink for those who want a refreshing morning caffeine hit Credit: Louis Wood This might just be the perfect cool drink for people who don't like the bitterness of coffee but want a refreshing morning caffeine hit. Emmi Caffè has a milky taste, chocolate overtones, a creamy texture, and slips down very smoothly. It's sweetly delicious - low-fat cocoa powder is one of the ingredients and, at 145kcal, it might not be a dieter's choice. The only other downside is that this coffee comes in a plastic cup rather than a can, where the cup's rim was a bit sharp when drinking straight from it. Worth it, though, for one of the tastiest brews we tried. 4/5 Ueshima Iced Latte 250ml £2 from Ocado 8 Enjoy a premium drink from the canned coffee investors Credit: Peter Jordan This is a premium drink from the Japanese inventors of canned coffee. The story goes that Mr Ueshima bought a coffee at a train station in the 1960s, but had to leave it behind to catch his train - so spent a year working on canned coffee and started selling it in 1969. This one tastes like it's been improved over decades, with a rich and refreshing taste. Being only 75kcal in the can, one of the lowest-calorie canned coffee drinks, it doesn't taste as sweet as some others - anyone who likes a traditional coffee over ice will enjoy this one. At £2, though, it's not far off the cost of a coffee shop treat and wasn't distinctive enough for the price to seem worthwhile. 3/5 Jimmy's Iced Coffee Original 275ml £2.10 from Tesco 8 Use this bottle for water once you'ved finished your coffee Credit: Peter Jordan This is a super refreshing choice, and comes in a classy and recyclable silver-coloured bottle which we found perfect for refilling with water later on. The coffee is the perfect consistency: not too thick or runny, and full of flavour without being overly sweet. It's just over 100kcal per bottle, despite containing more coffee than the other products thanks to its larger bottle size. Jimmy's comes in a range of flavours, from gimmicky "iced coffee donut" flavour to the usual mocha, caramel and extra-protein options. You can buy Jimmy's in slightly smaller 250ml cans, starting at £1/25 at Iceland. 4/5 Starbucks Caffè Latte Iced Coffee 220ml £2.20 from Tesco 8 It's clear Starbucks has spent a lot of thought on its iced latte Credit: Peter Jordan As you'd expect from one of the kings of high street coffee, Starbucks has put a lot of thought into its iced latte. It came in the easiest to drink packaging: a cup with a recyclable lid and straw which is perfect to sip on the go. The Starbucks latte - espresso plus creamy milk - is a flavoursome brew, sweeter than others and very moreish. But the calorie content showed the sweetness too, coming in at a hefty 165kcal per cup. Price-wise, I'd avoid it for £2.20. 3/5 M&S classic latte 250ml £2 8 The overriding flavour of the M&S coffee is creaminess Credit: Peter Jordan There's a double shot of espresso and semi-skimmed milk in this generous-sized can. It's not too sweet, but it also doesn't have a particularly strong coffee flavour: the overriding flavour is creaminess. Despite that, there's only 100kcal in each 250ml can, and it was a refreshing caffeine hit: I definitely felt extra alert after this double shot of espresso. Anyone who likes their coffee to taste like milk with a dash of Arabica will love this can - but hard-core bean fans may find it too creamy. 3/5 Nescafé Iced Coffee Latte 750ml £3 (£2.50 on Tesco Clubcard deal) 8 Nescafe's iced coffee comes in a bigger bottle Credit: Peter Jordan This is a larger bottle, perfect for keeping in the fridge at home. The bulk discount means it works out at a cheap 83p per 250ml portion - but it's too big to cart around so minus points for the convenience factor. As it has UHT milk inside, though, it doesn't need to be stored in the fridge until after it's opened. Nescafé's latte tastes like a sweeter drink than Ueshima and Jimmy's- it comes in at 93kcal per 250ml portion - but lacks the chocolatey taste of some others. It's a mild, creamy latte that's a good value option if you like to have an iced coffee to grab at home, but I prefer the convenience of cans and cups to multitask as an on-the-go refreshing treat. 3/5 Lidl Latte Macchiato 250ml 55p 8 Lidl's 55p was crowned a joint winner Credit: Peter Jordan The cheapest iced coffee by miles - and it tastes great too. Lidl's latte has a mild coffee taste, with a creamy, slightly thicker texture - which might be why it packs a stonking 200kcal in per portion. The packaging is a bit of a drawback, too: it has a thin foil covering the plastic cup at the top. I'd be too nervous to chuck this iced latte into my bag as any jostling during the commute would see it burst, unlike Starbucks' cup design which has a plastic lid for security. Other can designs are more robust too. Still, overall this macchiato slips down really easily and is a refreshing, sweet coffee that tastes even better when you know how much of a bargain it is. 4/5

Secret Apple gadgets due out in just weeks – list of rumoured tech includes shockingly thin ‘iPhone 17 Air'
We think we know the date for the big event too APPLE CORE Secret Apple gadgets due out in just weeks – list of rumoured tech includes shockingly thin 'iPhone 17 Air' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IN just a few weeks, Apple will almost certainly lift the lid on a treasure trove of new gadgets. This tech haul should land just in time for Christmas – but what Apple devices will actually go be going on our list to Santa? Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 10 Apple boss Tim Cook is getting ready to show off brand new gadgets Credit: Apple 10 A new iPhone to replace last year's iPhone 16 line-up is likely in the works Credit: Apple 10 The big event usually takes place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in California Credit: Apple Every September, Apple hosts a major tech event. This is usually where each year's main iPhone release is revealed. It'll then go on sale about a week and a half later. Last year's saw the iPhone 16 debut. We'll almost certainly see other Apple gadgets too, but they're all top secret for now. In fact, Apple hasn't even confirmed plans for a September event – but it doesn't take much guesswork to work out what's what. WHEN IS THE SEPTEMBER 2025 APPLE EVENT? Although the Apple event is likely now just weeks away, we won't find out the truth until very close to the big day. Just last year, I predicted the iPhone 17 release date, and that means I think I've worked out when the event will take place too. Usually the iPhone reveal is on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the first half of the month. So this year, we're expecting to see it on Tuesday, September 9 or Wednesday, September 10. Tuesday feels like the safer pick, so mark your calendars. Based on that info, here are our predictions for the key dates: Apple interview with Greg Joz Joswiak on new artificial intelligence, screening, hold assist, carplay, liquid glass and ios updates Apple iPhone 17 event announcement – Tuesday, August 26, 2025 Apple iPhone 17 event day – Tuesday, September 9, 2025 iPhone 17 pre-orders – Friday, September 12, 2025 iOS 19 release date – Monday, September 15, 2025 iPhone 17 release date – Friday, September 19, 2025 Of course the event could end up falling earlier or later, completely throwing off our guess at the schedule. APPLE EVENT 2025 – WHAT TO EXPECT So what will Apple actually show off? The safest best is a brand new iPhone – or rather, new iPhones. 10 Apple's next round of iPhone models will run on the new iOS 26 update Credit: Apple As usual, we're expecting at least four models, but with a surprise change this year. Instead of an iPhone 17 Plus, it's rumoured that we'll see an ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. Yes, really. This could be the thinnest model we've seen in years – and possibly ever. So the full line-up for 2025 would look like this: iPhone 17 iPhone 17 Air iPhone 17 Pro iPhone 17 Pro Max IPHONE SCREEN SIZES – A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME Here's how iPhone screen sizes have changed over the years – as measured in inches diagonally from corner to corner... iPhone (2007) – 3.5 inches iPhone 3G (2008) – 3.5 inches iPhone 3GS (2009) – 3.5 inches iPhone 4 (2010) – 3.5 inches iPhone 4S (2011) – 3.5 inches iPhone 5 (2012) – 4 inches iPhone 5S (2013) – 4 inches iPhone 5C (2013) – 4 inches iPhone 6 (2014) – 4.7 inches iPhone 6+ (2014) – 5.5 inches iPhone 6S (2015) – 4.7 inches iPhone 6S+ (2015) – 5.5 inches iPhone SE (2016) – 4 inches iPhone 7 (2016) – 4.7 inches iPhone 7+ (2016) – 5.5 inches iPhone 8 (2017) – 4.7 inches iPhone 8+ (2017) – 5.5 inches iPhone X (2017) – 5.8 inches iPhone XS (2018) – 5.8 inches iPhone XR (2018) – 6.1 inches iPhone XS Max (2018) – 6.5 inches iPhone 11 (2019) – 6.1 inches iPhone 11 Pro (2019) – 5.8 inches iPhone 11 Pro Max (2019) – 6.5 inches iPhone SE 2nd gen (2020) – 4.7 inches iPhone 12 Mini (2020) – 5.4 inches iPhone 12 (2020) – 6.1 inches iPhone 12 Pro (2020) – 6.1 inches iPhone 12 Pro Max (2020) – 6.7 inches iPhone 13 Mini (2021) – 5.4 inches iPhone 13 (2021) – 6.1 inches iPhone 13 Pro (2021) – 6.1 inches iPhone 13 Pro Max (2021) – 6.7 inches iPhone SE 3rd gen (2022) – 4.7 inches iPhone 14 (2022) – 6.1 inches iPhone 14 Plus (2022) – 6.7 inches iPhone 14 Pro (2022) – 6.1 inches iPhone 14 Pro Max (2022) – 6.7 inches iPhone 15 (2023) – 6.1 inches iPhone 15 Plus (2023) – 6.7 inches iPhone 15 Pro (2023) – 6.1 inches iPhone 15 Pro Max (2023) – 6.7 inches iPhone 16 (2024) – 6.1 inches iPhone 16 Plus (2024) – 6.7 inches iPhone 16 Pro (2024) – 6.3 inches iPhone 16 Pro Max (2024) – 6.9 inches iPhone 16e (2025) – 6.1 inches Picture Credit: Apple / The Sun That's a slightly confusing set-up, so it's possibly that Apple does even more tinkering with the names to make simplify things. These gadgets will likely ship with brand new A19 processors. And it's rumoured that we'll see a larger camera panel on the back of the phone that stretches all the way across. The Apple Watch is also looking set for an upgrade this year. 10 The Apple Watch Series 10 will likely be replaced by a new line-up of smartwatches Credit: Apple 10 Apple could debut a sequel to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 Credit: Apple On-and-off rumours have suggested that Apple is hoping to include a blood pressure monitoring feature on the Apple Watch Series 11. And we could see an even more powerful Apple Watch Ultra 3 with the same perk – in addition to satellite-powered texting. That makes sense, given that it's aimed at outdoors types. We're also expecting to see a major audio upgrade in the form of the Apple AirPods Pro 3. The original AirPods Pro came out in 2019 as an upgraded noise-cancelling alternative to the regular AirPods wireless earbuds. 10 The Apple AirPods Pro may be up for an upgrade Credit: Apple Second-gen AirPods Pro dropped in September 2022, followed by a boosted version of the same model with a USB-C port for charging. For the AirPods Pro 3, Apple could introduce a redesigned model with improved noise cancellation and boosted audio. But there are also rumours that the new earbuds could also monitor your heart rate and body temperature for health purposes. Finally, it's also possible that we might see a new version of the Apple TV 4K. That's Apple's plug-in streamer that connects to the back of your telly to give it a fancy iPhone-style UI, plus access to loads of apps and features. The jury is still out on whether this will debut at the September event or a later Apple showcase (or possibly via press release alone). Apple's last major Apple TV 4K release was in 2022 with the third-generation model. So it could be time for an upgraded version with faster processing. 10 The plug-in Apple TV 4K streamer last received a major upgrade in 2022 Credit: Apple Other gadgets that have also been rumoured for release in 2025, but are less certain, include: A smart home hub display New Mac and MacBook Pro models with an Apple M5 chip New Apple AirTag 2 Apple Vision Pro 2 Sadly none of these gadgets are guaranteed, and could come in 2026 (or never!). We won't know for sure until Apple chief Tim Cook takes to the stage at the company's Cupertino, California HQ later this year. 10 Apple's Vision Pro spatial computing headset may be in line for an upgrade Credit: Apple
