The format requires contestants to use their language skills, lateral thinking, visual intelligence and memory to solve various mind boggling puzzles.
Former Countdown star Carol, 64, was perplexed by a Jack Black question in a round called Cinema Cipher.
Host Jeremy Vine explained the rules, saying: "I show you a well-known film title concealed by a code of symbols. Just give me the title of the film."
Carol and her teammate Ore Oduba were shown a selection of animal images.
Each one corresponded to letters that in turn spelled a Jack B;ack film title.
Some image examples included a snake, two squirrels and four butterflies.
As the two pondered over what it could be, Strictly star Ore asked Carol if she knew any Jack Black movies.
Unfortunately for their effort, the TV legend replied that she did not.
They opted to take a clue - with one of the letters being revealed to them.
The pair then discovered each of the butterflies represented the letter O.

As a result, Ore correctly worked out that School Of Rock was the elusive film title.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Channel 5 show Puzzling was set for a big shake-up.
Longtime Eggheads quizmaster Jeremy was announced to be taking over as host for the new weekly series.
Originally presented by historian Lucy Worsley, the programme was shelved for 2024.

Carol Vorderman has been on our screens for decades. She is also a regular presenter on the radio.

However, the programme was later revived by 5 for a second run this year.
Discussing her role as team captain, Carol said previously: 'I'm so excited to be a team captain on Celebrity Puzzling.
"Finally, all those years of loving numbers, words and brainteasers are about to pay off! Well, I hope that they are.
"Joining forces with my brilliant and really good mate Sally Lindsay, and with the ever-clever Jeremy Vine keeping us all in line, it's going to be a battle of brains… and I'm going to be fighting all the way, of course!'

Danny Dyer and Emily Atack sign up for 'big money TV gameshow' on ITV after starring together on hit Disney+ series Rivals

Danny Dyer and Emily Atack are set to be ITV's next hosting duo as they 'sign up' to front a brand new game show. Bosses at the broadcaster have reportedly brought in the pair in a bid to 'freshen up their entertainment talent'. An insider told The Sun: 'Bosses have been impressed with Danny and Emily's charisma on Rivals and thought they'd make an amazing duo on-screen to freshen up their entertainment talent. 'They're an unlikely pair but have appeared on a few panel shows together and have plenty of fun energy that is perfect for the tone that ITV want to set. 'Producers are keen to trial new presenting partnerships to get people talking, and both Emily and Danny have huge appeal.' The publication reports they're set to receive a whopping £250,000 each, with the show expected to air next year. MailOnline has contacted representatives for Danny, 47, and Emily, 35. The pair have been busy so far this year filming the second series of the smash-hit series, based on the racy books of Dame Jilly Cooper. Danny, who played pub landlord Mick Carter in EastEnders for almost a decade, is no stranger to game shows. The hardman previously hosted The Wall for the BBC, which ran for three series before ending in 2022 when Danny left EastEnders and the BBC. Mum-of-one Emily starred as a team captain on now-axed CelebJuice with Keith Lemon and Laura Whitmore. Meanwhile, Danny recently revealed his bizarre diet hack to keep the weight off. He admitted that while he does find his hack effective, it does become a 'struggle.' Speaking to Louis Theroux on his podcast, Danny explained: 'I want to build up to not eating anything on Monday. 'I fast in the day just to keep the weight off. I feel like if you fast, it's good for your body as well. 'But it's a struggle. Mondays are s**te anyway. 'So you know you got to look forward to your dinner on a Monday. But I do fast during the day until the afternoon.' Danny added: 'Just liquids so your body can start to eat itself. You've got to drink plenty of water while you're doing it and it does work.'

Royal donor offered access to Prince of Wales for cash, reports say

Her art gallery – the Mondejar Gallery – was an official sponsor of the annual charitable polo event which is taking place in Windsor next month. Kensington Palace declined to comment. It is understood that the Palace was unaware of what is being viewed as a rogue sponsor until alerted by the newspaper, and action was taken immediately. William usually takes part in the match (Jonathan Brady/PA) The organisers of the event were not aware it was being used by the Mondejar Foundation to raise money, it is believed. The Mondejar Foundation has been approached for comment. The Royal Charity Polo Cup match is an exclusive event where charity donors can watch the prince play polo. Among the guests at last year's match was TV presenter and interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and wife Jackie, who were seen taking a courtesy golf buggy around the site. The event raised more than a £1 million for causes that William and Kate are passionate about, including Wales Air Ambulance, Child Bereavement UK, Place2Be, Action for Children and The Royal Marsden.

Glastonbury shut stage down ahead of rappers' performance as they struggle with overcrowding again

GLASTONBURY Festival is dealing with a new overcrowding issue after declaring fans to AVOID one of the major stages. As Neil Young took to the main Pyramid stage as the headliner of the evening, pop fans have ditched the rocker in favour of other acts. Advertisement Charli XCX is set to perform on the Other Stage at 10.30pm, while American rapper Doechii will appear on the third biggest stage, Woodsies, at 10.45pm. 5 Glastonbury has come under fire for its crowd control Credit: Getty 5 Doechii is set to close the Woodsies tent at 10.45 Credit: Getty 5 As Neil Young took to the main Pyramid stage, thousands flocked to the Other Stage and Woodsies instead Credit: PA However, nearly an hour before the set was due to start, the crowd at Woodsies had got so big that they were forced to close access. The team simply posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), declaring: "No access to Woodsies. Please head to another area of the site - thank you." Doechii – who has topped the charts this year with her songs Denial Is A River and Anxiety – is still set to perform as planned. Advertisement This is the second time Woodsies has been forced to shut down for crowd control – with Lorde's early Friday morning surprise set also causing chaos. The New Zealand singer appeared on stage to celebrate the release of her new album, Virgin, in a last minute appearance. So the news came as a massive annoyance to ticketholders, who have criticised the team for poor organisation. They've been particularly critical of putting big names like Charli XCX and Doechii against each other on the line-up, and on smaller stages that don't have the capacity needed for the crowd. Advertisement "Terrible programming throughout, you need a massive re think for your next festival," wrote one. "doechii and charli clashing at glasto is EVIL WORK!!" said another. Glastonbury chaos as bosses are forced to SHUT part of festival as Lorde performs surprise set "Glastonbury really looked at all the vibrant amazing young artists around and said "nah, lets pump the big slots full of elderly white men". I'm not being funny but I'm struggling to stay awake for Doechii watching Neil Young..." noted a third. And a fourth said: "It's full to capacity? Nobody's at the Pyramid Stage for Neil Young. Everyone is either at Woodsies or the Other Stage for Charli XCX Advertisement "Glastonbury has shit the bed a bit here. Field packed for Charli XCX. Woodsies closed an hour ahead of time for Scissor Sisters. Doechii still to come. Pyramid very sparse for Neil Young. Meanwhile PULP do an hour in the afternoon and fill the space" 5 Glastonbury organisers have urged attendees not to go to the Woodsies stage Credit: Getty
