Tickets for the NBA Abu Dhabi are now on sale
A collaboration between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025 presented by ADQ will feature two big teams – the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wondering who you'll get to on the court? The Knicks will be bringing along the two-time NBA All-Star Jalen Brunson, five-time NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns and 2022 NBA All-Defensive First Team member Mikal Bridges.
On the 76ers side, you'll be able to see the 2023 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player and seven-time NBA All-Star Joel Embiid doing his thing, plus nine-time NBA All-Star Paul George and 2024 NBA All-Star Tyrese Maxey.

Abu Dhabi Achieves Success in First Flying Taxi Trial
Abu Dhabi has officially entered the future of urban transport with a successful test flight of its flying taxi at Al Bateen Executive Airport on Wednesday. Join our FREE WhatsApp channel to dive into a world of real-time engagement! The milestone flight was announced by the US-based Archer Aviation in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), marking a major step toward the commercial launch of flying taxi services, which is expected to begin in early 2026. 'Today is the first step of many to enable the commercialisation of air taxis in Abu Dhabi and the UAE,' said Omran Malek, head of autonomous mobility and robotics at ADIO. 'We're not just launching a service, we're building an entire ecosystem around it, including pilot training, maintenance, manufacturing, and workforce development.' Testing For UAE's Unique Conditions The test flight of Archer's Midnight aircraft featured a vertical takeoff and landing, designed to evaluate performance in the UAE's challenging summer conditions, high temperatures, humidity, and dust. Dr Talib Alhinai, manager of Archer Aviation UAE, explained: 'Our initial flight tests are all about validating the aircraft's readiness for the UAE's environment. Once that's complete, we can move confidently into the commercial phase.' More tests are planned over the summer to further study the aircraft's durability in local conditions. Building The Future of Urban Mobility Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai are racing to launch flying taxis, with Joby Aviation also conducting a successful test in Dubai earlier this week. Abu Dhabi, however, is taking a comprehensive approach by developing the necessary infrastructure, including vertiports, airspace integration, and local manufacturing facilities. According to Malek, Archer plans to begin manufacturing the flying taxis in Al Ain by 2027, with plans to export them to other countries as interest grows in the region. Affordable and Accessible Contrary to popular belief, flying taxis won't just be for luxury travelers. Malek reassured that the service is being designed to be affordable for the public: 'As we build more vertiports and increase the number of aircraft, the price will scale down, making it practical for daily use.' In the initial commercial phase, a small fleet of aircraft will operate in Abu Dhabi, with the service gradually expanding as the supporting ecosystem matures. With the first commercial flights targeted for early 2026, Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a global leader in urban air mobility, not just testing the future but building it.

UAE: Want to swim under the stars? These Dubai, Abu Dhabi beaches allow night dips
As temperatures across the UAE continue to soar, many beachgoers find it increasingly difficult to swim during the day due to the rising humidity and intense summer heat. The scorching conditions make daytime beach visits uncomfortable and, at times, unsafe. As a result, more people are turning to beaches that offer night swimming, seeking cooler and more pleasant conditions after sunset. These night beaches provide a refreshing alternative, allowing residents and tourists alike to enjoy the sea under the stars. Here's all you need to know about beaches that allow visitors to swim after sunset: Abu Dhabi The latest addition to the country's list of beaches that allow visitors to swim during night hours is Marsana Night Beach in Abu Dhabi. Located on Marsana East Beach, it offers visitors a chance to swim under the moonlit sky with lifeguard supervision while enjoying amenities like cozy loungers and dining options. The night swimming season began July 1, and is set to go on until Tuesday, September 30. On weekdays, night swimming will be permitted from sunset until 10pm. Meanwhile, from Friday to Sunday and on holidays, the beach will be open from sunset until midnight. To access the beach, visitors will have to pay a fee, which differs on the basis of the days. It is free of cost for children under the age of six. Dubai Three beaches in Dubai offer night swimming—Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1, reflecting the city's appeal to visitors all year round. These three beaches span around 800 m collectively and have welcomed aroung 1.5 million visitors since opening in May 2023, according to WAM. They are all free of charge. To ensure a comfortable and safe swimming experience, they feature LED lighting towers and electronic safety screens. Qualified lifeguards are also stationed at these beaches around the clock, fully equipped with rescue and first-aid tools, actively monitoring activities from sunrise to sunset. Promoting inclusivity, dedicated night swimming areas have been added for people of determination and senior citizens, complete with tailored services that allow them to enjoy an exceptional experience.
