Outlander fans must watch this hearbreaking Netflix film with Game of Thrones star

Outlander fans are urged to watch the time travel romance film on Netflix.
With a long time to wait before Outlander season 8, many fans are desperate for something to fill the void. Luckily, Netflix is streaming a movie that's filled with plenty of romance and drama, as well as time travel.
The movie came out in 2009 and follows an epic love story to rival Outlander's central romance with Jamie and Claire Fraser.

One fan critiqued IMDb: "At the heart of this film is a love story and the complexities that people bring to their relationships.

'What I liked most was its metaphorical allusion to the distance in relationships and how the important people in our lives stay with us even after they are gone."
A second wrote: "I was a massive fan of the book and had been following the production of this movie for a long time anticipating the release date. I had set my expectations pretty low so as to not be disappointed and decided to just enjoy the film for what it was.
"I was overjoyed by how true to the book the film stayed, only varying in a few unimportant places, the film dared to be as heart breaking and sad as the book and did not feel the need to justify the logistics of the time travel instead choosing to summarise it in the first scene sic].'

A third penned: "I recommend anyone looking for a unique love story to see this film. Paying homage to memorable classic such as; "Somewhere in Time" and "It's a Wonderful Life,"it will easily be something that should find a home in your living room shelves.
"It emits a cinematic glow that hasn't been seen in years while cleverly conveying an educational message; 'Never let go of the one you love, and cherish him/her always'."
The Time Traveler's Wife follows Chicago librarian Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana), who possessed the genetic ability allowing him to time travel.

However, he wasn't in control of his power, which proved a problem for his wife Clare Abshire (Rachel McAdams). Henry disappear and randomly appear at different points in Clare's life.
The movie took its cue from the beloved 2003 romantic novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger.

Band of Brothers and Sex And The City star Ron Livingston and Arliss Howard of Full Metal Jacket fame also featured in the film.
The Time Traveler's Wife went on to get the small screen treatment by HBO in 2022, penned by former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat.
The TV series, starring The Gentlemen's Theo James and Game of Thrones and The Good Fight's Rose Leslie, was sadly cancelled after one season.
Despite a passionate campaign to save the show, The Time Traveler's Wife didn't get a renewal.
There's been a subsequent stage musical adapted from the book.

And Just Like That fans rejoice as Carrie and Aidan make a shocking decision about their relationship: 'It's about time!'

Fans rejoiced after Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw broke up for the third time in the latest episode of And Just Like That. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) have navigated a tumultuous long-distance relationship in season three, but it all came to an end in Thursday's episode nine, titled 'Present Tense.' After arguing about Aidan being jealous of Carrie's relationship with her handsome British downstairs neighbor, writer Duncan Reeves (Jonathan Cake), Aidan admits he has trust issues due to Carrie cheating on him in the past. This eventually leads a frustrated Carrie to lash out as she asks Aidan: 'Can you stop f*****g blaming me?' They later both conclude their relationship won't work out again, sharing a tearful hug before parting ways. The pair previously dated twice in seasons 3 and 4 of Sex and the City, with both attempts ultimately ending in breakups. The tense episode also had a humorous moment when Parker's real-life friend Andy Cohen made a quick cameo as he reprised his role of shoe salesman Daniel from Sex and The City. Aidan grills Duncan about why he chooses to smoke from a pipe, before Carrie quickly makes an excuse to leave. Carrie later tells pal Seema (Sarita Choudhury) that she believes Aidan is 'threatened.' 'By Duncan?' Seema questions. 'By me,' Carrie replies. 'I cheated on him with John. It was awful,' she said, referring to her late husband John Preston, a.k.a. Mr. Big, who died from a heart attack in the first season of the Sex and the City reboot. 'He had trouble trusting me after that, and frankly he had reason not to,' she added. 'I cheated on him with cigarettes as well,' she joked. Seema then informed her that Aidan had been questioning her about Duncan in the previous episode. She advises Carrie to talk to him about the situation, but Carrie refuses. Later on Aidan interrupts Carrie and Duncan's book edition session, as he shows up unannounced. He asks her if he should get dinner started, but Carrie declines saying she and Duncan are busy working. When he asks her when she'll be done, she tells him she is unsure and to start without her. However, he tells her he will wait for her. When Carrie finally returns she finds that Aidan is still awake. She thanks him for 'being so understanding' and tries to cuddle up to him in bed. I have moved mountains and apartments. I have agreed to arrangements that even you yourself couldn't live up to! I was 100% in.' 'Was or are? Because you just said I was 100% in. So, is it was or are you still 100% in?' he questions. 'Was,' Carrie slowly replies. 'I can't give you any more than I have, and it wasn't enough. And there's all the family stuff. I'm sorry, but there is.' 'I need a hundred,' Aidan says. 'So do I,' Carrie responds. A teary-eyed Aidan tells her, 'I'm sad. I really thought we were gonna make it this time.' True story of socialite Claus von Bulow accused of trying to murder his heiress wife as scandal becomes TV series

Apple is working on a limited series about late socialite Claus von Bulow, who was famously accused of trying to murder his wife Sunny in the early '80s. According to Deadline, the prestige streamer already has British playwright Jack Thorne attached to the project. Thorne was most recently behind Netflix 's psychological crime drama Adolescence, which won universal acclaim from critics and became one of the most-watched Netflix shows of all time. The Danish-born Bulow was found guilty of the attempted murder of his heiress wife in a 1982 trial before being acquitted in 1985 following a second trial. The second trial was televised, making it the first major criminal trial in the United States to be broadcast live on television. He was accused of using insulin injections to try to kill the heiress so that he could get his hands on her $100million fortune, which she had inherited from her Pittsburgh utilities magnate father George Crawford, who died when she was just three. Mrs Bulow was first found unresponsive in one of the many bathrooms at their Rhode Island home while celebrating Christmas with her family in 1979. She slipped into a coma and was rushed to hospital, where she was miraculously revived. Doctors determined that the coma was the result of low blood sugar and diagnosed her as hypoglycemic. The following Christmas she was found unconscious again, but this time she had suffered severe enough brain injury to fall into a persistent vegetative state. The socialite ended up in a coma that lasted for the rest of her life, up until her death in 2008. In a sensational trial, her husband was accused of trying to murder her - being first found guilty, then dramatically cleared. Mrs Bulow's children from her first marriage to Prince Alfred von Auersperg hired private investigators to find out if Mr Bulow was behind what happened to their mother. He was charged in 1982, but released on $1million bail. Mr Bulow was found guilty in 1982 and sentenced to 30 years in jail. Just three years later, the verdict was thrown out and a retrial took place. Mr Bulow hired celebrity attorney Alan Dershowitz, who would later defend O.J. Simpson and Jeffrey Epstein, to get his conviction overturned. Celebrities took the stand to speak in Mr Bulow's defense, including writer Truman Capote, and a media firestorm ensued. According to Dershowitz, one prosecutor on the case said, 'This case has everything. It has money, sex, drugs; it has Newport, New York and Europe; it has nobility; it has maids, butlers, a gardener.' After being freed, Mrs Bulow's children had Mr Bulow removed from their mother's will and left him without a penny. Only the couple's biological daughter, Cosima, stood by him and he denounced any entitlements in favor of her being able to equally share assets with her half siblings. Mr Bulow was able to divorce Mrs Bulow in 1988, while she was still comatose. Their Manhattan apartment and Newport mansion were turned over to the von Auersperg children from her previous marriage. Dershowitz went on to write a book about the trial which was turned into 1990 film Reversal Of Fortune, starring Jeremy Irons as Mr Bulow and Glenn Close as his wife. The film was enormous hit, earning rave reviews from critics and winning Irons the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1991. After his acquittal, Mr Bulow moved to London and became a fixture on the social scene. He died in his London home in 2019 at age 92.
