Formula 1 is more popular than ever before and all the new interest in the sport can only be a good thing for its future. But the downside is there's so much content that a lot of the good stuff - especially about the less successful teams - gets lost in the noise.
It's easy to find lots of coverage of the big issues of the day and everything that happens to the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. But we know there are millions of you who support some of the less successful teams and drivers, too, or who just have a general interest in what is going on up and down the grid.
That's why we've created the Pit Lane Chronicle newsletter.
Collated lovingly by correspondent Daniel Moxon, who works full-time as a reporters in the Formula 1 world, Pit Lane Chronicle is a weekly publication sent straight to your inbox with the latest news and interesting content around the teams who don't get as much of the spotlight. The best part is, it's completely free AND with no adverts.

Daniel covers F1 full-time and has, over the years, established a network of contacts and sources up and down the paddock. That will be incorporated into the newsletter in the form of exclusive interviews and nuggets of information when available.

On a weekly basis, the newsletter will cover the big news stories - and some of the smaller and more quirky ones - making it the place to go for a collated collection of content around Alpine, Aston Martin, Haas, Racing Bulls, Sauber and Williams. And, of course, from the 2026 season we've got the new Cadillac outfit joining their ranks.
I've always felt that teams outside F1's 'big four' don't get the coverage that they, and their fans, deserve. It's understandable in a way - we've all got to deliver for our audiences and there is generally more interest in the bigger names - but it means those who do support midfield or backmarker teams, or their drivers, are getting short-changed," Daniel explained.
"That's why I'm going to be devoting my time and effort to this newsletter. I want fans of the six teams who don't get as much coverage as the likes of Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull to be able to quickly and easily find good content about the drivers and teams they love."
We want to get our readers involved too! Pit Lane Chronicle will have interactive features such as a weekly poll (or two!) and the opportunity for fans to engage in conversation with us and also with each other. We're also looking to feature one supporter of one of the teams we're focusing on in each edition of the newsletter, and hear about their experiences.
Where and how do I sign up?
Pit Lane Chronicle is hosted on Substack, an independent platform with no ads, making for a cleaner reading experience than on many other websites. You can read on your computer or tablet, while there is also a handy app which you can download to your device so you can read each edition.

Red Bull decide to sack driver just days after Christian Horner exit

Just days after Red Bull axed Christian Horner, the Formula 1 giants have reportedly decided to sack one of their drivers. Last week, Red Bull announced that Horner had been 'relieved of his operational duties' having lead the team for over two decades. The dismissal of the team principal, husband of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, comes after months of tension within the team and a sharp decline in performance on the track. While Max Verstappen has won two races this season and sits third in the standings, he will relinquish his championship crown to either Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris of McLaren. The RB21 is proving incredibly difficult to drive, as evidenced by the woeful results of Verstappen's teammates, who have scored a combined seven points to the Dutchman's 165. Young Liam Lawson was picked by Horner to replace Sergio Perez for 2025 but was brutally axed after just two races, with the more experienced Yuki Tsunoda replacing him. The Japanese driver has not fared much better however, failing to finish higher than ninth and not scoring any points in the last five grand prix. And it seems patience has run out for the 25-year-old, with GPblog claiming that Red Bull have decided not to extend his contract, though he will be allowed to see out the rest of the season. It might not be the end of the road for Tsunoda however, as it is said his representatives recently held talks with Cadillac who are joining the grid in 2026, while he also continues to be linked to Aston Martin. If all this is true, Red Bull could have an entirely new driver line-up next year with four-time champion Verstappen in talks to join rivals Mercedes. More Trending Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar would be first in line to step up to the senior Red Bull team following his impressive start to life in F1, with Lawson also under consideration. This would open the door for 17-year-old Arvid Lindblad, a Red Bull junior and Formula 2 star, to be fast-tracked to Racing Bulls and become the fifth British driver on the grid after Norris, Sir Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Ollie Bearman. The F1 season continues with the Belgian Grand Prix on July 27. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Sebastian Vettel insists he's never returning to F1

Sebastian Vettel has definitively stated he will not return to Formula 1, nearly three years after his retirement. The four-time world champion, who retired at the end of the 2022 season, had previously been linked with a comeback. Vettel explained that F1 is "finished" for him, believing it is time for younger drivers to take over. He had a distinguished career, winning 53 races and securing 122 podium finishes across 16 seasons. However, Vettel did not rule out competing in other motorsport series, such as the World Endurance Championship and the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans event.

Virgin Media's Sky Sports bundles cut by £330 ahead of Premier League season

Virgin has slashed more than £300 off select TV, broadband and Sky Sports bundles to their 'lowest ever price' in its Summer of Sports sale, offering plenty of Premier League, EFL and Formula 1 action for less Virgin Media has slashed the price of several TV bundles offering Sky Sports access ahead of the new Premier League season. The provider has launched a new Summer of Sports sale, with discounts of up to £336 available until September 2. It comes in time for the return of the Premier League, with the 2025/26 season due to kick off on August 15. The most affordable option is Virgin's Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, which has been cut from £65.99 to £54.99 per month – a saving of £264. This comes with more than 200 TV channels, including eight Sky Sports channels, such as Main Event, Football and F1. It also provides 516Mbps fibre broadband for smooth, lag-free streaming and gaming. There's also the Biggest Combo bundle, which includes the same Sky Sports channels and 516Mbps broadband, but also packs in Sky Cinema and a free subscription to Netflix Standard with ads. All of this comes in at £64.99, down from £78.99 – a huge £336 saving. Virgin says these prices are the 'lowest ever' offered for its sports packages. But there's also a £120 price cut on Virgin's all-singing and dancing Mega Volt bundle, which provides more than 230 TV channels with Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and Netflix Standard with ads, plus a whopping 1,130Mbps broadband. This packed bundle comes with an O2 SIM card with unlimited data, minutes and texts, with a total monthly cost of £79.99, down from £84.99. Virgin also offers a discount TNT Sports package available as a paid add-on for £18, rather than the £30.99 rate when joining directly. All of Virgin's TV and broadband plans now run for 24 months, matching those offered by rivals like Sky. But one thing to remember is that Virgin plans to increase its prices every April, with the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports set to rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027. The Summer of Sport sale puts Virgin head-to-head with Sky's own discounted sports package, the £35 Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle. While this option doesn't include broadband, it does provide nine dedicated sports channels, 100 regular channels including Sky Atlantic, and free subscriptions to Netflix Standard with ads and Discovery+. However, boxing fans should note that many of the biggest fights are only available to stream via one-off pay-per-view payments. For example, the Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois fight on July 19 is available to order from DAZN for £24.99 or is currently thrown in for free with a DAZN Annual plan. But those opting for Virgin for their sports needs will still be able to enjoy a minimum of 215 Premier League matches every season from 2025/26, as Sky increases its coverage from 128 Premier League matches to at least 215. Sharing their experience with Virgin on Trustpilot, one happy customer said: '10 out of 10 for Virgin Media. We have been with Virgin for a year now and are very pleased with the service, it's been fantastic to have all the sports channels as we love football. I was able to get a great deal.' This less-impressed reviewer said: 'Sometimes my Virgin box freezes, turns off and resets, and it takes around seven minutes to reboot. This is annoying when watching football.' Another person said: 'I'm extremely happy with the product and service. The broadband speed is second to none and extremely reliable. The TV package is also superb – Ok, it doesn't have Sky Atlantic but with Netflix, Sky Cinema and all the Sports channels included, there's enough to watch."
