Ukrainian drone triggers fire in apartment building west of Moscow, official says
A Ukrainian drone struck a multi-storey apartment building outside Moscow early on Tuesday, triggering a fire and injuring two people, TASS news agency quoted a local official as saying.
Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, said the drone started a fire on the 17th floor of the building in the town of Krasnogorsk, west of the capital.
The injured people were receiving treatment at a hospital.
Vorobyov said two other drones were shot down west of Moscow.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said earlier that Russian air defences had intercepted two Ukrainian drones heading for the city overnight.
Sobyanin, writing on the Telegram messaging app, said specialists were examining the debris of at least one drone downed after midnight.
The mayor said a third drone targeting the capital had been repelled earlier in the evening.
Russia's defence ministry reported that air defence units had destroyed nine drones in a 90-minute period before midnight, including nine over the border regions of Kursk and Bryansk.
Ukraine has launched drone attacks on a wide range of targets in recent months, some a long distance from the Ukrainian border.

SAPM to visit Russia from 5th

Azerbaijan arrests journalists at Russian state outlet
BAKU/MOSCOW: Authorities in Azerbaijan arrested two journalists from the local branch of a Russian state news agency on Monday in a move likely to further stoke tensions with Moscow following arrests in Russia of ethnic Azerbaijanis suspected of serious crimes. In a statement, Azerbaijan's interior ministry said it had launched an investigation into the outlet, Sputnik Azerbaijan, after raiding its offices earlier on Monday. Russia's RIA state news agency said two staff members - the head of the editorial board and the chief editor - had been detained. Azerbaijan's interior ministry published video showing officers leading two men to police vans in handcuffs. Tensions between Russia and Azerbaijan, a former Soviet republic in the South Caucasus, have risen in recent days after investigators in Yekaterinburg, a Russian industrial city, arrested six people following a slew of raids in connection with historic unsolved crimes, including serial killings. They said they had detained six people, all of whom had Russian passports, but they also said two suspects had died. Azerbaijan's foreign ministry identified the people as ethnic Azerbaijanis. One of the suspects died of heart failure, Russian investigators said in a statement, and medical tests would reveal the cause of death of another suspect. The bodies of the suspects are expected to arrive in Baku by plane on Monday evening for expert examination. Baku has accused the Russian police of carrying out extrajudicial killings 'on ethnic grounds', an allegation Moscow has rejected. Moscow claims troops capture village in East-Central Ukraine
Russian forces have taken control of the first village in the east-central Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, Russian state media and war bloggers said on Monday, after Russia took 950 square kms of territory in two months. There was no immediate confirmation from Ukrainian sources or from the Russian Defence Ministry. As Moscow and Kyiv talk of possible peace, the war has intensified with Russian forces carving out a 200 square kilometre (77.22 square miles) chunk of Ukraine's Sumy region and entering the Dnipropetrovsk region last month. The authoritative Ukrainian Deep State map shows that Russia now controls 113,588 square kms of Ukrainian territory, up 943 square km over the two months to June 28. Russia's state RIA news agency quoted a pro-Russian official, Vladimir Rogov, as saying that Russian forces had taken control of the village of Dachnoye just inside the Dnipropetrovsk region.
