Donald Trump's take on Gaza crisis: Why he says it's not genocide & what the US is doing about starvation in the region
Trump stated that he wants civilians in Gaza to receive food and humanitarian support. Speaking before boarding Air Force One in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he said, 'We want the people fed — and we're the only country that's really doing that. We're putting up money to get the people fed… We want Israel to get them fed.' He added, 'We don't want people to starve, and there's some bad things happening.'
US sends envoy to Gaza for first-hand assessment
On August 1, Trump's U.S. envoy, Steve Witkoff, visited Gaza to understand the humanitarian crisis on the ground. The visit aimed to help develop a plan for distributing food and medical aid. It marked the first time a senior U.S. official had entered Gaza since the war began in October 2023.

Witkoff's trip followed his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a day earlier. The visit comes amid growing criticism directed at Israel over the humanitarian toll in Gaza. According to Gaza's health ministry, over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the conflict.
Israeli officials call for war to end
Meanwhile, over a dozen former senior Israeli defense officials have released a joint video urging an end to the war. These former chiefs of staff and high-ranking leaders argue that Israel has suffered more setbacks than gains, and that the war continues for political reasons.

They believe the conflict could have ended earlier and are now calling on Israel to agree to a permanent ceasefire. Their proposed resolution includes reaching a comprehensive deal that would secure the release of all remaining hostages held in Gaza.
UN flags civilian deaths at aid sites
The United Nations has raised concerns over the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's (GHF) operations, stating that its aid distribution points have put civilians at risk. According to the UN, more than 1,000 people have died while attempting to access aid at GHF sites since the group began working in Gaza in May. Most of those casualties, the report says, were shot by Israeli forces near those distribution zones.
As the Gaza crisis deepens, U.S. policy walks a tightrope between humanitarian aid and ongoing support for Israel's military actions.

'Har Har Mahadev' chants echo as PM Modi arrives for key NDA meet
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome on Tuesday at a meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He was greeted with thunderous applause and chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' following the success of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, as shown in a video shared by news agency ANI. Modi was felicitated by MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance on Tuesday for the success of Operation Sindoor during the NDA parliamentary party meeting held at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi. This key meeting comes amid an ongoing deadlock in Parliament, with opposition parties demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and calling for its withdrawal. The meeting witnessed thunderous applause and chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' in celebration of the success of both Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. Prominent NDA leaders—including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut—were in attendance, representing both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, opposition protests disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha, preventing discussion on the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Separately, leaders of the INDIA bloc are scheduled to meet at 10 AM on Tuesday in the office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, also located in the Parliament Library Building. Following the meeting, alliance MPs will stage a protest at 10:30 AM in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament. The demonstration, held under the slogan "Our vote, our right, our fight", will oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. The Lok Sabha will begin Tuesday's session with obituary references for former MPs Tilakdhari Prasad Singh, Ram Rati Bind, and Shibu Soren. As per the agenda issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is expected to move amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, as well as introduce the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, for discussion and passage in the House. India's reply to Trump shook America!
videoDetails India's reply to Trump shook America! Yashwant Bhaskar | Updated: Aug 05, 2025, 10:30 AM IST India's response to Trump's threat shook the entire America! When US President Donald Trump threatened to impose 'more tariffs' on India on Monday, India responded late night by naming America. Donald Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social, "India does not care how many people are being killed in Ukraine by Russia's war machine. Therefore, I am going to increase the tariff on India." In response, India has called Trump's threat 'unfair and irrational'. The Indian Foreign Ministry said that 'America still imports uranium hexafluoride for its nuclear industry, palladium for the electric vehicle industry, fertilizers and chemicals from Russia.'
