Boulder community mourns loss of Karen Diamond, after fatal antisemitic attack
, an 82-year-old beloved member of Boulder's Jewish community, Colorado, has died from injuries suffered during a brutal
antisemitic attack
earlier this month, officials confirmed Monday. Diamond was hospitalized with severe burns and trauma after being targeted in a firebombing on Boulder's Pearl Street Mall on June 1, where she and others were peacefully protesting to raise awareness for Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
According to prosecutors, the attacker, identified as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 46, allegedly threw two
Molotov cocktails
into the crowd while shouting
pro-Palestinian slogans
, including 'Free Palestine.' Court documents reveal Soliman had brought 16 more incendiary devices to the scene and disguised himself as a gardener to get close to the marchers. The attack left 13 people physically injured, with at least eight requiring hospitalization, and a total of 29 victims have now been identified by authorities.
Diamond succumbed to her injuries on June 25 after weeks in intensive care. Her death has led prosecutors to upgrade charges against Soliman to first-degree murder, in addition to existing attempted murder and federal
hate crime
charges. Although Colorado abolished the death penalty in 2020, federal prosecutors could still pursue capital charges due to the hate crime element.

New Delhi: A Vasant Vihar resident was duped of Rs 1.86 crore by scammers who used a fake advertisement featuring an Indian actor to promote a fraudulent investment scheme. According to the complainant, he was deceived after coming across a promotional video on Instagram. The video featured an actor purportedly endorsing an investment platform that promised high returns from short-term investments. Tempted by the offer, he registered on the website and was soon contacted via a social media application by individuals posing as investment advisors. They persuaded him to transfer funds under the guise of trading, ultimately cheating him. One of the scammers began providing instructions on when to buy and sell securities for profit. They also arranged video calls to further persuade the complainant, falsely presenting inflated profit margins and offering misleading investment strategies to encourage additional investments. Gaza City, July 1 (UNI) Amid increase in Hamas attacks, Gazans, present at the humanitarian aid distribution sites have testified that the Iran-backed terror group arbitrarily kills people in the area and masks it as Israeli military attacks, in its attempts to block humanitarian aid to the war-torn area. In addition, they accused the group of carrying out propaganda, and psychological manipulation against civilians at aid sites, COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) revealed today, as per Jerusalem Post. The audio recordings released by COGAT reveal that Hamas seeks to disrupt the distribution of food packages at the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites. Gazans present in the area said that Hamas arbitrarily fires at people present in the area obstructing all aid, masquerades the shootings as IDF attacks, and publishes "fabricated data about large numbers of casualties," through fake footages, revealed COGAT's findings. Furthermore, GHF workers said on Monday that Hamas had placed bounties on American security workers in the enclave, and that 12 local staff members of the organisation had been murdered by Hamas, and several were tortured. 'Hamas has placed bounties on both our American security personnel and Palestinian aid workers, offering cash rewards to anyone who injures or kills them,' the GHF statement said. The findings corroborate the IDF's own reports, where it revealed on Sunday that residents had testified to an officer from Gaza's District Coordination and Liaison about Hamas' attempts to obstruct the distribution of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
