Raducanu in talks with coach
Emma Raducanu said she will hold showdown talks with coach Mark Petchey about their future working arrangement.
But she claims she will head next month to New York – the scene of her greatest triumph – brimming with confidence she CAN match the world's best.
Raducanu, 22, ate a KitKat chocolate bar in the locker room after her two-hour two-set slugfest with world No1 Aryna Sabalenka on Friday night.
For those who had doubted whether the Brit would ever replicate the magical form she showed when lifting the US Open four years ago, this was a demonstration of her abilities.
Though she fell short, and was unable to capitalise on two clutch moments in set two, she earned widespread respect for slugging it out with the three-time Grand Slam champion on Centre Court.
Petchey, who joined her team on a part-time basis in March, has had a transformative impact on her form and demeanour but there is no guarantee that coaching gig will continue.
The former tennis player earns a decent living as a respected TV analyst but has to decide now whether to give that all up to sit in Raducanu's box.
Raducanu said: 'It's very difficult. He obviously also has his commentating commitments.
'He agreed to help me until the end of Wimbledon and then we kind of see from there.
'Because he gave up some work to work with me here, which I really appreciate and I'm grateful for.
'That's a conversation that we need to have after a few days and the dust settles a little bit.'

Princess of Wales's parents attend day eight of Wimbledon

The Princess of Wales's parents, Sir Lenny Henry and Michael McIntyre were among the notable names to attend the eighth day of Wimbledon. Carole and Michael Middleton were seen in the Royal Box of the tennis championships on Monday. Kate, who attended the finals weekend of last year's championships, is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Last year, the Princess of Wales presented the Wimbledon men's final trophy to Carlos Alcaraz, in her second public engagement since she announced her cancer diagnosis. Comedians Sir Lenny and McIntyre were also seen on day eight of the championships. Cricketer Sir James Anderson shook hands with Wimbledon veteran Roger Federer in the Royal Box, with Federer's old tennis rival Novak Djokovic in action on day eight. Katie Boulter was also on Centre Court to watch her fiance Alex De Minaur in action against the Serb, as King Frederik X of Denmark and cricketer Joe Root watched on from the Royal Box. Broadcaster Gabby Logan was another famous face spotted at the grounds of the tournament on Monday. Last week, a number of celebrities were spotted at SW19 including Sir David Beckham, Sir Gareth Southgate and Gary Lineker – who were all seen in the Royal Box. US music stars Olivia Rodrigo and Dave Grohl were also among the top celebrity names spotted at Wimbledon, along with adventurer Bear Grylls and actor Rory Kinnear. Paralympic champions packed the Royal Box on day seven of the championships on Sunday. Wheelchair tennis duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid occupied prime front-row positions. Wheelchair racers Hannah Cockroft and Sammi Kinghorn, canoeists Emma Wiggs and Charlotte Henshaw, archer Jodie Grinham and fencer Dimitri Coutya were among the other star names. Cricket great Brian Lara, triple Olympic swimming champion Tom Dean and former footballer and presenter Chris Kamara were also in the premium seats. British singles hopes at Wimbledon rest on Cameron Norrie after his gruelling five-set win followed Sonay Kartal's defeat on Sunday. He next faces defending champion Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday.

Cameron Norrie up for the challenge as he aims to dethrone Carlos Alcaraz

Cameron Norrie knows Wimbledon just got real after booking a quarter-final date with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. British number three Norrie beat Nicolas Jarry in a five-set marathon on Sunday to progress to the last eight for the second time. The 29-year-old reached the semi-final in 2022, which was the last time Spanish superstar Alcaraz lost a match in SW19. Since then Norrie has dropped from eight in the world to a low of 91 while Alcaraz, 22, has won two Wimbledons, two French Opens and a US Open. The second seed has not looked entirely convincing so far this fortnight, however, dropping four sets including the first in his win over Andrey Rublev on Sunday evening. Norrie, meanwhile, is on the verge of returning to the top 50 and is playing some of his best tennis since that run here three years ago. But the Johannesburg-born left-hander will still go into Tuesday's showdown as a huge underdog. 'I think it only gets tougher from now,' he said. 'I've played a lot of tough matches already. Now it only gets tougher. What a match! Huge congratulations to Cameron Norrie for reaching the quarter-finals, we're all cheering you on. It's been brilliant to see so much British talent on court at Wimbledon this year, you have all done us proud. — Keir Starmer (@Keir_Starmer) July 6, 2025 'There's still lots of matches to be played and lots of matches to be won. 'I'm going to play point-for-point as always, and I'm really happy with how I pulled up after the (Jarry) match. 'My body feels good, and I'm in a good place. I've been hitting the ball well. I'm happy to be sure, but (still) a long way away.' Alcaraz is taking nothing for granted, insisting facing Norrie on home soil is 'almost a nightmare'. Norrie has beaten the world number two twice, including their last meeting in the final in Rio two years ago. 'First of all, facing Cam is always really, really difficult,' said Alcaraz. 'We had really difficult battles already. 'Yeah, for me facing him is almost a nightmare to be honest. Really tough from the baseline. I'm not surprised he's in the quarter-finals playing great tennis because I've seen him practice. 'He's playing at home, as well, so he's going to use the crowd on his side. I have to be really strong mentally and focused to play good tennis if I want to beat him.' Norrie is now the last home player left in either draw after Sonay Kartal's defeat by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova earlier on Sunday. 'I would have liked to have seen some more guys go deeper,' he added. 'Obviously we had a lot of wins in the first couple of rounds. 'But I'm not really caring too much if I'm the last Brit standing or if they're all here. 'It would be nice to have a few more to kind of deflect and have lots of people to cheer for, and I think in years to come that's going to be the case. 'I'm just taking care of my business and really enjoying my tennis at the moment.'

It turns out she's not the first Hollywood star to have fallen for the Bulgarian. Before finding love with Eiza, it was Romanian actress Madalina Ghenea who was cheering him on from courtside, with the pair daring at the start of 2023. Article continues below Ghenea is a supermodel and actress, and is best known for starring as Sophia Loren in the series House of Gucci, while she also appeared alongside Ed Westwick in Deep Fear. Not all of Dimitrov's love interests have come from the world of movies, mind. In 2015, he started seeing former Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger, with the pair going public with their relationship in 2016. ‌ Sherzinger has had a couple of sporting love interests beyond the tennis star, of course. She's currently seeing ex-rugby international Thom Evans, having previously had a long-term relationship with Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton. She parted ways with Dimitrov in 2019. Dimitrov himself has also had a couple of relaitionships with sports stars. ‌ In 2012, he started dating Maria Sharapova, who at the time was a superstar of the women's game. Article continues below Sharapova was the highest-paid sportswoman in the world at the time, but the relationship would last three years before the couple would break up due to their "split paths". Another rumoured relationship was between Dimitrov and Serena Williams, with some suggesting the pair were dating back in 2012. They never confirmed their relationship, but Dimitrov has confirmed they still speak regularly.
