NBC Pushes ‘The Hunting Party' to Midseason, As It Sets Fall Premiere Dates for NBA, ‘One Chicago' Wednesdays and ‘Law & Order' Thursdays

Yahoo29-07-2025
NBC is bringing 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' back to the network this fall, pushing 'The Hunting Party' to midseason. That's among the scheduling tweaks revealed by the network as it unveils premiere dates for its full fall lineup. NBC previously unveiled its fall 2025 schedule back in May, but the 'L&O:OG' and 'Hunting Party' switcheroo are among several notable changes.
The second season of 'The Hunting Party' was originally scheduled to air following new episodes of 'Law & Order' and 'Law & Order: SVU' on Thursday nights. Instead, the sophomore season will now be held until after January.

NBC Orders Cheerleading Comedy 'Stumble' to Series
In its place, NBC will air a three-hour 'Law & Order' block on Thursdays beginning Sept. 25. Following 'Law & Order' and 'SVU,' the fifth season of 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' will be re-aired on the broadcaster at 10 p.m. ET. Season 5 of the show originally debuted on Peacock in April after airing its first four seasons on NBC.
According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, there is a chance 'The Hunting Party' will begin airing in February 2026 to take advantage of promotion around NBC's packed sports schedule that month. That includes the Super Bowl, the NBA All-Star game, and Olympics coverage. 'The Hunting Party' is also relocating from Canada to shoot in New York for its second season.
In keeping with the Dick Wolf of it all, NBC's 'One Chicago' lineup returns on Wednesday, Oct. 1 led off by 'Chicago Med' at 8 p.m., followed by 'Chicago Fire' and 'Chicago PD.'
One other change affects NBC's comedy lineup. Although the network originally left open time slots after returning comedies 'St. Denis Medical' and 'Happy's Place' on Mondays and Fridays respectively, both shows will now air back to back new episodes beginning on Monday, Nov. 3 and Friday, Nov. 7. NBC has two new comedies — cheerleading show 'Stumble' and 'The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins' starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe — still waiting in the wings. The shows could still potentially air following 'St. Denis Medical' or 'Happy's Place' come fall, but no plans are locked at the time of this publishing.
Looking elsewhere on the schedule, the NBA will make its highly-anticipated return to NBC officially on Oct. 21. The network will kick off coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET with the pregame show, followed by a double header starting at 7:30 p.m. The teams participating in those games will be announced shortly.
The medical drama 'Brilliant Minds' will return for its second season on Monday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. following a the season premiere episode of 'The Voice.' The new unscripted series 'On Brand with Jimmy Fallon' will launch on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 10 p.m. NBC will air two episodes of the marketing competition series per week, with an episode also airing on Fridays starting Oct 3. The 51st season of 'Saturday Night Live' begins on Oct. 4.
As previously announced, NBC will air a two-hour 'Wicked' special on Thursday, Nov. 6 starting at 8 p.m., two weeks ahead of the launch of the film 'Wicked: For Good.'

Meghan toasts to ‘beautiful day' as she launches new rose wine

The Duchess of Sussex has toasted to a 'beautiful day' to mark the launch of her latest rose wine. Meghan released her As Ever Napa Valley Rose 2024 – described as evoking the same 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish' as the 2023 rose – on Tuesday. It comes after the previous rose, launched last month, sold out within an hour. In a video posted on her Instagram, Meghan can be seen uncorking a bottle marked 'Bottle #1' in front of bouquets of pink and cream flowers – followed by close-up of the cork bearing the As Ever logo. Alongside the clip, she wrote: 'Here we go! First bottle off the line! 'Toasting to a beautiful day: Our Napa rose is live @aseverofficial.' As with the previous wine, the beverage is priced at more than £67 for a minimum three-bottle order – and only appeared to be available for US customers to buy, with shipping addresses limited to America. As Ever is Meghan's lifestyle brand which also sells cookie mix, herb tea, flower sprinkles and jams. A post on the company's Instagram show the corks branded with the As Ever logo, with a caption reading: 'C'est l'heure. 'Enjoy your last sips of summer with the newest vintage of our beloved Napa Valley rose.' The website describes the drink as 'thoughtfully curated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex' and that it has been 'made to be enjoyed with the ones you love'. The pale pink wine, which comes in a clear bottle with a white, gold-rimmed label, has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 13.5% – one percent lower than its predecessor. As with the 2023 rose, the newest wine is not available to buy in orders of less than three bottles. Three bottles cost 90 US dollars (around £67), six bottles cost 159 dollars (around £119) including a 12% discount, and 12 bottles are priced at 300 dollars (around £225) including a 17% discount. Meghan and the Duke of Sussex left the UK and moved to California five years ago for a new life after stepping down from the working monarchy. Napa Valley wine country is in northern California, around 50 miles from San Francisco.

Liam Neeson Hilariously Mocked Paramount Execs Into Greenlighting THE NAKED GUN Reboot — GeekTyrant

The Naked Gun reboot may be winning over fans now, but it almost didn't happen. According to director Akiva Schaffer, Paramount wasn't immediately sold on the idea, even with Liam Neeson attached as the lead. So, how did it get the greenlight? Simple. Neeson roasted the Paramount execs in a hilarious test scene that left no room for doubt. Schaffer told Filmmaker Magazine: '[Liam Neeson's casting] was not quite enough for the studio for whatever reason, and they asked us to do a proof of concept.' To prove their vision, Schaffer and his team went scrappy. They threw together a five-minute mock sequence on the Paramount lot in an old warehouse filled with lighting equipment, turning it into a gritty noir-style set reminiscent of Beverly Hills Cop II . The scene mashed up parts from different bits in the script, including an interrogation with Kevin Durand and comedy pulled from the sequence with Busta Rhymes. But the mic-drop moment came at the end, when Neeson locked eyes with the camera and delivered a fourth-wall-breaking takedown that sealed the deal. 'There's that noir lighting on his face, and he says, 'That goes for you, too. Yes, you, the Paramount greenlight committee. I see you there. What the f*ck are you waiting for? Why don't you get your pencil pushers to sign [on] the line? 'I'll tell you what. Make sure they have a line item for adult diapers and cocaine in case one of you ever wants to visit set,' or something like that. He basically talks shit to them and leaves. And it worked!' Apparently, that ballsy scene was exactly the kind of chaos the studio needed to see. I would love to see that video, so hopefully it gets released one day! The final film delivers exactly what that proof-of-concept promised… a wild, ridiculous ride that pays loving tribute to the 1988 classic. Neeson steps into the spotlight as the son of Leslie Nielsen's iconic Frank Drebin. The new Naked Gun lineup includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Busta Rhymes, and Cody Rhodes, bringing a mix of comedy, action, and hilarious absurdity. The Naked Gun is in theaters now and is absolutely worth seeing if you're into this franchise!
