Emergency crews respond to crash on Horseshoe Valley Road
Emergency crews responded to a crash on Horseshoe Valley Road in Springwater Township Saturday afternoon where a pickup truck appeared to have driven offroad.
Photos supplied to CTV News by a nearby resident show a white pickup truck that appeared to have crashed into a tree.
Other photos show other damaged vehicles that may have been involved in the incident and emergency crews tending to the scene.

Tyne Valley soapbox derby brings community together for a weekend of fun
Nine-year-old Luke Bridges won a division at the Tyne Valley soapbox derby on Saturday. But winning and losing wasn't all that important to him. Bridges has been taking part of the soapbox derby for nearly half his life, this year being his fourth year racing. "I get to bring home the gold," he said. "But it doesn't matter if you win or lose, just have a good time." The soapbox derby has been going on in Tyne Valley for 12 years. Pam MacKinnon, a volunteer at the derby, says the event raises money for various things in the community, including the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival. "It's 100 per cent volunteer," MacKinnon said. "It's pretty awesome that everybody can just show up and offer a hand and see all the excitement from the kids." The derby is set up in four divisions, A through D. Bridges won the D event. A fifth category, All-American Cars, sends the champion to Ohio next year for the world championship. Community impact MacKinnon said this event is good for the entire community. "It's just an awesome way to get together," MacKinnon said. "It requires a huge amount of volunteers, but being from Tyne Valley and part of a lot of volunteering here, we have a phenomenal base of volunteers in this community." There were roughly 55 participants ages seven to 20. No experience was required. For the division using the big cars, there are prizes for the top drivers.

Road near Temiskaming Shores reopens after multi-vehicle crash
The image of a road reopened sign is shown. (File photo) Lakeshore Road South has reopened after being shutdown by Ontario Provincial Police following a multi-vehicle collision. Police announced the incident, which occurred between Sunnyside Road and Dutton Street in the Temiskaming Shores area, on social media at about 12:40 p.m. and the roadway reopened shortly after 2:30 p.m. The Temiskaming OPP detachment had advised drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while their investigation was ongoing. No further details about any injuries or the cause of the crash were released by authorities. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Pato O'Ward takes Toronto race for 9th career IndyCar victory
Pato O'Ward has won the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto. It's the seven-year IndyCar Series veteran's first win on the course around Toronto's Exhibition Place, and his ninth IndyCar victory. Rinus Veekay finished second and Kyffin Simpson placed third. Colton Herta was the defending champion at Toronto and held pole position for today's race but finished fourth. Toronto's Devlin DeFrancesco, the only Canadian on the grid, had his race derailed after his car was lightly damaged in an accident in the 37th lap but he managed to finish the race eight laps back of O'Ward. This year the race was expanded to 90 laps around the 11-turn, 2.874-kilometre street course at Toronto's fairgrounds.
