Professional Triathlon Organisation announces Series C funding boost
The successful completion of a Series C funding round, led by SURJ Sports Investment and supported by Cordillera, Verance Capital and Sir Michael Moritz, will support the PTO's continued growth in international markets as well as building long-term athlete and fan engagement.
PTO CEO Sam Renouf welcomed the news, with the hopes that further funding can also help propel their T100 Triathlon World Tour to greater heights.
'We're delighted to welcome SURJ and Verance Capital to the PTO investor family," he said.
"This is a major milestone not only for us as an organisation, but for the broader vision of triathlon's future.
"Our goal has always been to reimagine the sport for modern audiences and open up participation to athletes of all levels.
"With new partners like SURJ and Verance, we're better equipped than ever to scale our ambitions globally.
"The momentum from our record-breaking T100 Singapore event is just the beginning of what we hope to achieve in 2025 and beyond.'
The Series C investment comes at a time of growth for the PTO. In 2024, the organisation launched the T100 Tour and the event has rapidly expanded in the past 18 months.
With the wellbeing of professional athletes at its heart and widespread fan participation events, the T100 has attracted thousands of eyes to the endurance sport in less than two years and a new round of funding will be viewed as a critical opportunity to only further enhance it's position amongst elite sport.

Orioles pound 4 homers and 16 hits to beat AL-East leading Blue Jays 11-4
BALTIMORE (AP) — Ramón Laureano homered and drove in three runs, Adley Rutschman marked his return from the injured list with three hits and two RBIs, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays 11-4 Monday night. Cedric Mullins, Coby Mayo and Colton Cowser also homered for the last-place Orioles, who amassed 16 hits against the AL East leaders. The game took a scary turn in the ninth inning, when Toronto's George Springer was hit in the back of the helmet by a fastball thrown by Kade Strowd. After laying prone from several minutes, Springer got up very slowly and left the field. Bo Bichette had four straight hits for Toronto before grounding into a game-ending double play. He went 5 for 5 Sunday in Detroit, and the nine straight hits are a franchise record. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Nathan Lukes homered for the Blue Jays, who have yielded 21 runs in their last two games after winning eight of nine following the All-Star break. Chris Bassitt (11-5) gave up six runs and seven hits in 2 1/3 innings. Cobin Martin (1-0) got the win in relief of Baltimore starter Zach Eflin. It was Martin's second career victory, the first coming in 2019 with Houston. Baltimore went up 10-4 with a four-run fifth inning that featured a two-run homer by Laureano. Rutschman got the uprising started with the second of his two doubles. After languishing on the 10-day injured list since June 21 with left oblique strain, Rutschman returned to go 3 for 5 from the cleanup spot. Key moment Mullins made a spectacular leaping catch at the center field wall in the fourth inning to rob Lukes of a two-run drive that would have tied the game at 6. Billionaire Ong's HPL Looks to Cut Stakes in Singapore Retail Strip
By and Faris Mokhtar Save The property firm of embattled billionaire Ong Beng Seng is looking to reduce its stakes in two marquee assets along Singapore's Orchard Road shopping strip, according to people familiar with the matter. Hotel Properties Ltd. is in talks to sell majority stakes in the Forum shopping mall, as well as the voco Orchard hotel, according to the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private matters. The firm is seeking a deal that would value the two adjacent assets for at least S$2 billion ($1.6 billion), they said.
