College professor killed by masked gunman while visiting ex-wife's home in Greece sparking manhunt
Dad-of-two Przemysław Jeziorski, 43, was gunned down in an Athens neighborhood on July 4.
Jeziorski, who taught at the University of California Berkeley, was shot five times in the chest and neck, as reported by the Polish outlet TVP World.
He was killed in broad daylight near the home of his ex-wife.
Jeziorski was in the Greek capital for a custody hearing, according to the ABC affiliate KGO-TV.
A masked gunman is believed to have carried out the attack and cops are probing the shooter's movements.
Local media reports suggest a car was caught on surveillance footage waiting for the gunman.
Cops are probing if the attack was targeted.
Jeziorski, who was known as Przemek, had worked at Berkeley's Haas School of Business in varying capacities since 2012.
Heartbroken brother Lukasz said his sibling was a victim of a 'terrible crime.'
'He was a leading scholar in marketing science, industrial organization and data analytics,' Lukasz said in a post shared on WhyDonate - a GoFundMe equivalent.
'He loved teaching and sharing his passion for the intricacies of marketing analytics and marketing science with his students.'
He claimed his brother was murdered in cold blood.
In a Facebook post, Lukasz told how their family had been rocked by a tragedy - weeks before his brother's death.
Lukasz and Jeziorski's dad died on June 4.
"We barely started to get over it," he said.
Jeziorski was a highly-respected scholar having worked at Berkeley in different roles for 13 years.
He had been an associate professor of marketing at the college since 2018.
FAMILY'S DOUBLE TRAGEDY
Jeziorski also worked at colleges including Maryland's Johns Hopkins University and Duke University in North Carolina during his career, according to his LinkedIn.
He was a visiting scholar at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business between September and December 2021.
Outside of academia, Jeziorski worked as a Microsoft researcher between 2008 and 2010.
Jeziorski was the co-founder of the property service Keybee - a platform which helps Americans find short-term rentals.
Tributes have been paid to the college lecturer and scholar following his death.
Devastated pal, Olga Adamkiewicz, said she had known Jeziorski since he was a child.
In a Facebook post, she said he was "probably the most talented" in their friendship group.
"I'm not ready for us to leave I'm not ready to say goodbye to someone close under such dramatic circumstances," she said.
Zsolta Katona, Jeziorski's colleague, described his death as a "senseless tragedy."
She paid tribute to him, saying he was an "outstanding scholar."
"Przemek was an amazing person, a friend, a colleague," she told SFGate.
The shooter is yet to be arrested as investigations continue.

The father of teen double murder suspect Sarah Grace Patrick broke cover for the first time since her arrest during a visit to see his daughter at a Georgia jail, exclusive photos show. Doniel Patrick, 43, appeared anguished as he stood outside the Carroll County detention facility on Sunday, smoking and raking his hands through his hair, after visiting the 17-year-old who has been in custody since July 8. The teenager is charged with two counts of murder and two of aggravated assault over the deaths of mom Kristin, 41, and stepdad James Brock, 45, who were found with multiple gunshot wounds inside their home in Carrollton, 45 miles west of Atlanta, on February 20. Patrick, who shares Sarah Grace and her 12-year-old brother Donnie, with his late ex-wife Kristin, was joined at the jail with his girlfriend Katie and his young son for the visit that lasted about an hour. 'Sarah Grace maintains her innocence, we believe her,' Katie told 'We are all supporting her. It's a very difficult time,' she said, adding that Sarah is due to meet with her lawyers on Monday. 'After that, we will [speak] to the press, to make sure we advocate for Sarah Grace. 'For now, we are going to sit back for a second, just to make sure everything is in her benefit and not in her hinderance.' The high school graduate turned herself in to police escorted by her father last Tuesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities have not yet revealed a motive for the killings and say the investigation is ongoing and further arrests could be made. Bail was initially denied due to the serious nature of the charges. Doniel – known to many as DJ - has largely maintained his silence since his daughter's arrest, save for a couple of cryptic Facebook posts about being in her 'corner' and his intention to 'focus' on his kids. Most recently, he shared a quote which read: 'Don't ever judge anyone on how they handle a pain you've never felt.' On Friday afternoon, Patrick's public defender, Latoya Williams, filed a motion for a bond to be set so she can be released from prison on bail. In court documents seen by Williams states: 'The Defendant asserts her presumption of innocence and further states that she will not improperly leave the jurisdiction of this court or fail to appear when required, is not a threat or danger to any person or property in the community and poses no significant risk to re-offend or to intimidate witnesses or justice. 'Accordingly, the Defendant requests that a hearing on this motion be held on the next regularly scheduled calendar for bond hearings following the undersigned date and that bond be set in a reasonable amount.' A hearing for the bond motion has yet to be set and Williams has yet to respond to a request for comment about Patrick's case. The family's prison visit comes after cops searched Patrick and Katie's home - and at least one other where the teenager could have stayed - over the weekend as they continue to investigate the murders. A relative of Katie's angrily revealed that her door had been kicked in on Friday by cops who wanted to search the property where Katie had previously lived. Multiple family members said Patrick and Katie's home was also searched, with Dennis Nolan, Sarah's maternal grandfather, speculating they were looking for the missing gun used in the shootings. has reached out to Carroll County Sheriff Department for comment on the case. 'He says about what they've showed him, and then he breaks down, and says 'I gotta get off the phone, Momma'. 'He's just distraught.' Investigators claim they have compiled a 'mountain' of digital and physical evidence which led to Patrick's arrest, including footage of her apparently tearful eulogy at her mother and stepfather's funeral, which exclusively revealed last week. Asked what evidence her son had been shown, Arnett replied: 'He said they showed pictures of Kristin and James dead, like wherever they took them to a crime scene place or something like that, and he told me about where they were shot. He revealed he had already spoken to Patrick over the phone and said he and an assistant pastor were going to go and see her in jail as soon as it could be arranged. Anybody thinks that, [is wrong] that girl is hurting and my job's to love.' His debut album Down To The Wire was released in 1986, according to his website. Throughout his career, he wrote songs for artists like Meredith Brooks and Kid Rock. Kaye was an award-winning music supervisor who worked on Idol for at least 15 seasons, according to IMDB. She was awarded multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on the show. At the 7th Annual Guild Of Music Supervisors Awards in Hollywood in February 2017, Kaye spoke about her undersung career path. "It's one of those parts of the business that people don't even know it exists," Kaye said on the red carpet. "It's a very important part of films and TV. Pretty much everything in the entertainment industry has music in it and people just think that it's there." A 'jealous' ex-girlfriend stabbed a father-of-six in the heart on Christmas Day after seeing his Tinder profile, a court has heard. Kirsty Carless, 33, was 'fuelled by cocaine and alcohol ' when she took a taxi from her home in Cannock, Staffordshire, to her ex Louis Price's parents's house in Norton Canes and plunged a kitchen knife into his chest, Stafford Crown Court was told. She made the trip at 3am on December 25, 2024, after a friend had showed her Mr Price's dating app profile, despite being on police bail after allegedly strangling him on November 11, 2024. Carless, who appeared in the dock wearing a white shirt with her hair in a ponytail, denies murdering Mr Price, 31, and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. She also denies one count of intentional strangling and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the claim she strangled Mr Price the month before the alleged stabbing. In his opening speech on Tuesday, prosecution counsel Jonas Hankin KC said Mr Price had been considered by police to be 'at very high risk of domestic abuse' before his death. He said the pair had been in a 'dysfunctional, abusive and highly volatile relationship which began in 2021' and was 'characterised by a cycle of separation and reconciliation'. In text messages sent to Mr Price the day before his death, Carless said 'I hate u... I wish you was dead'. The court heard Carless had been at the pub drinking double vodka and Cokes with a male friend on December 24 who she later had sex with three times at his home. At around 1.30am on Christmas Day, a female friend sent her a screenshot of Mr Price's Tinder profile. 'When she received this Tinder profile, things changed,' Mr Hankin said. 'The prosecution say the defendant's actions were motivated by anger and jealousy, fuelled by cocaine and alcohol abuse. 'Her behaviour simply reflects her volatile, aggressive personality.' While she had been due to stay at the male friend's home, she instead called a taxi back to her flat before calling Mr Price 45 times between 2.15am and 2.44am. The only pause in her 'barrage' of phone calls was to phone another cab to take her to Mr Price's parents house where he had been staying in a caravan in the garden. Impatient for the taxi to arrive, she called the cab company two more times to check where it was, Mr Hankin said. Members of Mr Price's family sobbed in the public gallery as CCTV was played showing the moment Carless arrived at the house just after 3am and 'stalked' him around the garden as he held his chest. She had initially gone upstairs to the property's spare bedroom where she had expected to find Mr Price with another woman, Mr Hankin said. He told the jury, of seven men and five women: 'The defendant stabbed Louis Price, her ex-partner, in the heart with a kitchen knife more than a foot long. 'The blade penetrated 12cm into his chest, cutting through skin, muscle, rib cartilage, lung tissue and the heart. 'He died rapidly on the floor of the conservatory in his parents' home.' He added: 'The defendant is charged with murder. The prosecution say that she intended to kill Mr Price and in order to prove the offence of murder, we have to prove she intended to at least cause really serious harm. 'We say, what else can she have intended, when she drove this knife into the chest of her ex-partner? 'The evidence will show that the defendant had taken that knife with her to the scene for the specific purpose of stabbing her ex-partner.' Mr Hankin said the taxi driver reported that around 30 seconds after Carless let herself into the property with a key, he heard a 'very loud and prolonged' scream from a man and that he 'sounded scared'. Less than two minutes after arriving at the scene, Carless was 'anxious and sweating' as she got back into the taxi and demanded the driver take her to her parents' home, where she allegedly admitted what she had done and 999 was called. 'The evidence shows, the prosecution say, that Kirsty Carless was manipulative, emotionally volatile and jealous,' Mr Hankin said. 'Her harmful use of alcohol and cocaine worsened her behaviour and the effects of intoxication intensified the negative traits of her personality.' The trial continues.
