"This is the biggest scam in medical history. Amit Salunke of Summit Facilities is the financial backbone of the Shrikant Shinde Foundation. The money was diverted to the foundation. A team of (Anti-Corruption Bureau) Jharkhand came to Maharashtra and arrested Amit Salunke on Thursday in a liquor scam there. He is a very close aide of Eknath Shinde and Shrikant Shinde," Raut had claimed.
Whatever happened in Jharkhand will be probed by that government, Shinde said on Saturday.
Talking to reporters here, Shinde targeted the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena (UBT) and said those stuck in the "Mithi river silt scam", the ones who indulged in "corruption" while building roads and the people involved in "khichdi scam" were lecturing him.
The alleged scams referred to by Shinde concern works carried out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which the undivided Shiv Sena had controlled for over two decades before it split in 2022.

"Those who reside in glass houses do not throw stones at others' homes. We are clean. People of Mumbai have seen them (Sena UBT) and they have looted Mumbai for 25 years. It is unfortunate that they are levelling charges against us," he said.
Raut on Friday accused the Maharashtra government of committing an "ambulance scam" of Rs 800 crore, claiming that the money involved was diverted to a foundation run by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde.
The contract to procure ambulances worth Rs 800 crore was awarded to Sumeet Facilities Limited. Its actual cost was Rs 100 crore, but the amount was inflated, Raut had claimed.
Summit Salunke, vice chairman of Sumeet Group Enterprises, termed Raut's allegations baseless. He said neither Amit Salunke, his family, nor Sumeet Facilities Limited has any political links.
"The PIL against the '108' Ambulance project was rightly dismissed by the Bombay High Court, which upheld the fairness of the tender process," Summit claimed. PTI

A government-run school for children with special needs should be started in Madurai, said a resolution of the Tamil Nadu Association for Rights of Differently abled and Caregivers. Namburajan, State vice-president, TARATDAC, said that the need for a school for children with special needs, administered by government itself was essential as most of the parents with such children could not afford the exorbitant fees demanded by private schools. In addition, technical education to parents and children with special needs should be given through government institutions, he added. It would not only provide them with qualifications but also empower the parents to earn money for themselves and their children, he noted. 'The ceiling of assistance given to the guardians or parents of children with special needs should be relaxed and they should be supported with monthly assistance and a tailoring machine,' Mr. Namburajan said. 'Madurai railway station, which is currently under renovation, is being used by thousands of people from various parts of the State and the country every day. Of them, many would hundreds would be differently abled people and elders,' he noted. To facilitate seamless movement for such people, the Railway Department should ensure that ramps were made at necessary facilities, and lifts were operated for those who could not use the stairs. 'Regardless of the needs, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the entire infrastructure should be differently abled friendly,' he emphasized. To enhance the livelihood of people with disabilities, the district administration should consider according 5% reservation to them in government managed commercial complexes, he said. A. Balamurugan, district secretary, TARATDAC, said that under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, the Union government provides only Rs.300 as its share. 'As the same amount is being given for more than 10 years, it should be revised and increased to at least ₹5,000,' he added. Akin to neighbouring States like Andhra Pradesh, and Union Territories like Puducherry, Tamil Nadu government should also increase minimum monthly assistance for differently abled people to ₹6,000, and ₹10,000 for people with severe disabilities and ₹15,000 for bed-ridden differently abled people, Mr. Balamurugan noted.

Railways targets to complete these 8 Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train stations by 2027
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The Ministry of Railways is working in full swing for the completion of India's first bullet train project. The 508-km-long bullet train project stretches from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor is being implemented by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL). The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is being developed at a total estimated cost of Rs 1,08,000 crore. Out of these, Cumulative Financial expenditure of Rs 78,839 crore has been incurred on the project till June 30, 2025. The Ministry of Railways is targeting to complete Gujarat portion of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train by 2027. In a written reply in Lok Sabha on July 23, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, 'The Gujarat portion of the corridor between Vapi and Sabarmati is planned to be completed by Dec, 2027.' The Minister was responding to a question raised by Lok Sabha MPs Mukeshkumar Chandrakaant Dalal and Devusinh Chauhan. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor will have 12 stations. These are: Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Billimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati. Thus, the national transporter will complete Vapi to Sabarmati section of the MAHSR corridor by December 2027. The Vapi-Sabarmati bullet train section will have eight stations – Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati. Additionally, the Railways has also targeted to complete the entire MAHSR project by 2029. 'The entire project (Maharashtra to Sabarmati section) is expected to be completed by Dec, 2029,' the minister said. Earlier this month, the first breakthrough was achieved in the 21 km long tunnel being constructed between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Shilphata in Maharashtra, marking the successful completion of a 27 km continuous tunnel section. Out of the total 21 km tunnel, 5 km is being constructed using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) between Shilphata and Ghansoli, while the remaining 16 km will be built using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). A day after the arrest of Eknath Khadse's son-in-law in a drugs case, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday claimed the former Maharashtra minister was being targeted for linking BJP leader Girish Mahajan with an alleged honey trap scandal. The former Maharashtra minister's home was attacked to shut his mouth, he said in an apparent reference to Khadse. Pranjal Khewalkar, the husband of Eknath Khadse's daughter Rohini Khadse, was arrested along with six others after the police raided a "drug party" at an apartment in Pune in the early hours of Sunday and claimed to have seized narcotics, hookah set ups and liquor from there. Rohini Khadse is the state head of the NCP (SP) women's wing. "The entire matter is suspicious," Raut said. "Khadse has been talking about honey traps for the last three days. He is talking about the involvement of (state cabinet minister) Girish Mahajan in this but there is no probe related to it. Now that Khadse is talking, his son-in-law has been arrested," the Rajya Sabha member said. Such incidents were occurring everywhere in Maharashtra, Raut said. He also accused the police of having become a servant and targeting those who speak against the government. Mahajan recently accused Khadse of trying to malign his image by raising baseless allegations in connection with an alleged honeytrap scandal. The fight between Khadse, a BJP veteran who quit the party to join the then undivided NCP in 2020, and Mahajan is not new. Both belong to the Jalgaon district. "We followed a principle that family members (of political rivals) were never dragged. Unfortunately, people from the BJP are now targeting family members, maligning them," Raut charged. He claimed that after the arrest of Khadse's son-in-law, Mahajan was just short of breaking into a dance. NCP leader and former minister Nawab Malik's son-in-law was arrested in a similar NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case and so was actor Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, Raut pointed out.
