Taylor Swift's First Re-Recorded Album Hits A Huge Landmark
Taylor Swift's dominance on the charts — both in the U.S. and across the pond — feels practically routine at this point. This week in the United Kingdom, the singer-songwriter continues to demonstrate her incredible staying power as several of her albums return to various rankings and, in some cases, even rise. This time around, one of her re-recordings hits a special milestone no other title in her discography has achieved on a specific tally.
When Swift first announced she would re-record and re-release her earliest albums years ago, she chose to start with Fearless, the project that launched her into the mainstream and won the star her first Grammy for Album of the Year. Originally released in 2008, the collection is now considered one of the most successful country-pop crossovers of all time, and it marked a major turning point in her career.
More than a decade later, Fearless (Taylor's Version) arrived to massive success. By then, Swift had transformed into a global icon who'd conquered pop, indie, and alternative sounds, so it wasn't surprising that her return to country found an enthusiastic audience. This week, that project rises again on the Official Country Artists Albums chart, moving from No. 7 to No. 6.
That slight improvement in position is a special movement for the re-recorded Fearless (Taylor's Version). The title has now spent 208 weeks on the Official Country Artists Albums chart — exactly four full years. Over that lengthy span, the set has rarely faltered. In fact, it's only fallen out of the top 10 once during its entire run.
Fearless (Taylor's Version) is now the first of Swift's releases to spend four years on the Official Country Artists Albums chart. It's a milestone she had never reached before with any other title, original or re-recorded. The new version of Fearless surpassed the original months ago, as that initial offering has thus far managed 185 total appearances on the list.
Her debut effort, Taylor Swift, is currently up to 163 turns on the same tally. While that record hasn't been re-released yet, Swift has promised fans that it will eventually be reimagined and shared under her updated vision.
Beyond its impressive longevity, Fearless (Taylor's Version) has also dominated the Official Country Artists Albums chart like few other titles have in the tally's history. When it arrived in April 2021, it debuted at No. 1, and that turned out to be only the beginning. Since then, the full-length has earned 53 stays in the top spot, meaning it has ruled for more than a cumulative year out of the four it has spent on the roster.

Tyler, The Creator Explains Urgency Behind ‘Don't Tap The Glass' LP in Note to Fans: ‘This Album Was Not Made For Sitting Still'
Early Monday morning (July 21), Tyler, The Creator released his ninth studio album, Don't Tap The Glass. Shortly following the drop, the high-motored lyricist explained the intentions behind his dance-laden effort and the urgency that fueled it. 'I asked some friends why they don't dance in public, and some said because of the fear of being filmed,' his Instagram post began. 'I thought damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost. It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time.' 'I just got back from a listening party for this album and man was it one of the greatest nites of my life. 30 people. No phones allowed. No cameras. Just speakers and a sweatbox. Everyone was dancing. Moving. Expressing. Sweating,' the Grammy-winning MC said. 'It was truly beautiful. I played the album front to back twice. It felt like that pent up energy finally got released and we craved the idea of letting more of it out.' He added: 'There was a freedom that filled the room. A ball of energy that might not translate to every speaker that plays this album but man did that room nail it.' He finally urged people to soak in the album in a way that allows them to move freely, express themselves, and, most importantly, dance. 'This album was not made for sitting still. Dancing. Driving. Running. Any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it. Only at full volume,' he wrote. Don't Tap The Glass arrives less than a year after Tyler's Billboard 200 chart-topper CHROMAKOPIA. He's currently embarking on a worldwide tour for the project and will surely dish out new records from his latest effort during his multi-country trek. Read Tyler's full post below.
