THERE are certain criteria people seek out when looking for a day trip - and one of those things is a plethora of pubs.
And new data has revealed Brighton and Hove has the most pubs per person.

Brighton and Hove is known for its bustling seaside promenade, cobbled beach fronts, nightlife and, of course, having many pubs.
The data revealed that the coastal city has an impressive 147 pubs per 100,000 people.
In total, that's 205 pubs serving its 139,001 residents.
With so many to choose from, we've found some of the best.
The Station Inn
On Tripadvisor, The Station Inn is one of the top-rated boozers.
The Station Inn describes itself as being a "traditional British pub" where you can enjoy a drink, play a game of pool or watch a game of football on the big screen.
One visitor wrote: "The Station is everything you want in a local pub — warm, welcoming, and full of character. The staff are friendly, the beer selection is excellent, and the food hits the spot every time."
Another added: "Lovely atmosphere, fantastic staff, we love coming to the Station- we feel like part of the family."
On the menu you'll find juicy burgers, steak and ale pie, fish and chips and a selection of roast dinners on a Sunday.

This pub has one very unique thing about it, and that's while inside, guests can enjoy a lantern-lite drink in a cave.
For any people in a group who want to make sure they're seated in one of the cave booths, you can book these in advance.
There's an outside area too and the pub is right on the seafront, with a sea-facing terrace, wooden tables and strings of fairy lights.
Throughout the years are events like DJ sets, which run on most Saturdays.

The Roundhill is Brighton's very first vegan gastropub.
It has a plant-based menu with weekly specials and they do Sunday roast dinners too.
The pub scooped up the "Best Roast" in 2020 and has been nominated in multiple categories for the 2025 BRAVOs, including "Most Sustainable," "Plant Champions," and "Best Sunday Roast".
One visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: The Roundhill consistently serve an incredible Sunday roast. I can honestly say it's the best roast I've personally ever had, and my non-vegan partner would agree."

The Cricketers Inn is the definition of a classic pub, it's full of charm, history and is the oldest pubs in Brighton.
You'll find the bright white pub in the thick of Brighton's Lanes, this venue attracts a real mix of people and inside is what's described as a "warren of rooms."
As for the interior, think thick red carpets, velvet stools, black walls and dim lighting.
The pub has an internal courtyard too with larger tables, but when it's sunny, you'll want to make most of the good weather by taking a seat outside.
The Cricketers Inn is possibly the oldest pub in Brighton having been around since 1547.

He was seen on his Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire, being transported between transported between holes in a motorcade of 26 golf carts plus one curious vehicle. This thing appears to be an articulated, secret service golf buggy. Sort of a golf equivalent of the Beast. It has reportedly been dubbed "Golf Force One". His adult sons Eric and Don Jr were both with him on the course. 2. Some British fans came to see him at the golf course. And by some we mean three There was no sign of anti-Trump protesters outside the golf course this morning - three British Trump fans were out on the hill next to Turnberry. They wore Make America Great Again hats, waved small US flags and held a sign that read "Don't trust Starmer". Trump waved and blew a kiss towards the fans before he took his shot. Tom English, one of the group who had travelled from Blackburn, said: "I can't believe we're the only ones, to be fair. I thought there'd be more people." He threatened to have Beyonce prosecuted Trump posted a massively unhinged rant on Truth Social, during which he threatened to have Beyonce and Oprah Winfrey prosecuted over things that never happened. It comes down to a baseless, evidence-free nonsense conspiracy theory posted online by people who made it up out of thin air, which claims Beyonce charged Kamala Harris $11m for her endorsement, and Oprah claimed £3m for expenses. Trump wrote: "I'm looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election, and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for "expenses," to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV "anchor," Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others to be named for doing, absolutely NOTHING! These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records." Not a word of the above sentence (and yes, it is one sentence) is true. He went on: "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO. Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. He fumed about America not getting more credit for sending humanitarian aid to Gaza. "We gave $60 million two weeks ago and nobody even acknowledged it, for food," he said. "And it's terrible. You know, you really at least want to have somebody say thankyou. No other country gave anything. We gave $60 million two weeks ago for food for Gaza and nobody acknowledged it." An American woman was left astounded after her recent visit at the Yorkshire service station, describing it as "exquisite". Situated of the M1J33 near Rotherham, the service station boasts an array of popular chains such as Starbucks, Pret A Manger, Burger King, Chopstix, The Good Breakfast, KFC, Waitrose, and WHSmith. Not only does it offer top-notch facilities and a variety of dining options, but the service area - which opened its doors in January this year - also provides 458 parking spaces for various types of vehicles. Plus, it has resulted in the creation of around 230 new jobs. Iniki, an American woman who relocated from Florida - a state known for its large 'petrol stations' - hailed the Rotherham Welcome Break as "the nicest UK service station." In a recent TikTok post, Iniki said: "I think I finally understand when Brits say they have a favourite service station because this service station was exquisite. This is a brand new Welcome Break in Rotherham and I was thoroughly impressed." The woman, who is married to a British man, likened it to "kind of looks like a little town" and said it reminded her of Universal Studios. She described her experience as akin to "a walk in the park." The American was also impressed by the variety of dining choices, gaming section and children's play area. "So yeah, I never understood the hype about service stations until now," she added. One person remarked: "As someone who was born in Rotherham, it's strange hearing an American say it haha. Driven past this service station many times but never been in. Looks nice!". One declared it's "probably the best thing" in Rotherham. "Nicest place in Rotherham," chimed in another. Favignana is the largest of three main islands and from above is shaped like a butterfly. It's known for its blue and white fishing harbour and narrow streets. It's small, too, so there's no need to hire a car - you can cycle or walk around to see the towns or go to the beach. You don't have to eat at a restaurant either, there are plenty of markets and little takeaway shacks if you fancy something more causal. There are bars dotted around the island so whether you seek shade in the towns or full sun on the beach, you can always find somewhere to have a refreshing drink. When it comes to venturing there, Favignana is 10 miles from Sicily and is easily accessible by ferry. You can travel from Trapani to Favignana all year round and in the high season there are 25 crossings a day. The trip can take up to 1 hour and 10 minutes, with tickets starting at €10 (£8.68). Or you can hop from Marsala to Favignana which has five daily crossings and is generally quicker taking 30 minutes per trip. The ticket prices start at €13 (£11.29).
