Beer maker Molson Coors forecasts downbeat annual profit on aluminum tariff impact
(Reuters) -Molson Coors forecast a bigger drop in its annual profit on Tuesday, hit by tariff impacts on costs of aluminum it uses for its beverage cans amid macroeconomic uncertainty in the U.S. President Donald Trump's fluctuating trade tariff policies have pressured consumer spending in the U.S. and caused customers to pare back on discretionary spending such as alcohol. The annual forecast change comes as a result of "the anticipated ongoing macroeconomic impacts on the industry, our lower-than-expected U.S. share performance, and higher-than-expected indirect tariff impacts on the pricing of aluminum," CEO Gavin Hattersley said in a statement. The company, which produces its beer locally at breweries in Colorado faces a 50% tariff on aluminum metal shipped into the U.S. since June, when Trump doubled it from 25%. Shares of the company were down about 1% in premarket trading. The company expects annual adjusted earnings per share to fall 7% to 10%, compared to its prior forecast of a low single-digit rise. It expects net sales for the year to decline 3% to 4%, compared with previous expectations of a decline in the low single-digits. The Blue Moon witbier maker in January had bought an 8.5% stake in an $88-million deal that gives it exclusive rights to market British company Fevertree Drinks' cocktail mixers and tonic water in the U.S., in a bid to capture the domestic demand for non-alcoholic drinks. Both companies had agreed to equally split the costs of the 10% tariff to be imposed on UK imports to the U.S. in June. The company's net sales fell 1.6% to $3.2 billion in the second quarter ended June 30, but came ahead of analysts' estimate of $3.1 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. It posted underlying earnings per share of $2.05, beating estimates of $1.83 cents per share. The company said the quarter benefited from pricing growth and favorable timing of U.S. shipments despite soft macroeconomic conditions. 擷取數據時發生錯誤 登入存取你的投資組合 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤

Jacobs tops quarterly estimates on strong demand for professional services
(Reuters) -Engineering services firm Jacobs Solutions beat Wall Street estimates for third-quarter profit and revenue on Tuesday, boosted by steady demand in its Infrastructure and Advanced Facilities (I&AF) as well as PA Consulting segments. Sustained demand for its professional services shielded the Dallas, Texas-based company from macroeconomic uncertainty amid an inflationary market and the ongoing global tariff war. "This strong performance was fueled by higher revenue growth rates in both segments as well as disciplined cost control," CFO Venk Nathamuni said. "We saw continued momentum in PA Consulting's business, with revenue increasing 15% year-on-year in the third quarter as a result of both higher public and private sector spending," CEO Bob Pragada said. The larger I&AF segment, which focuses on the engineering, design and delivery of infrastructure projects, posted a 4% rise in revenue from a year ago, driven by demand from life sciences, data center, utilities and transportation end markets. The company also narrowed its annual profit forecast to range between $6.00 and 6.10 per share, compared with its prior view of $5.85 to $6.20 per share. Jacobs reported adjusted profit of $1.62 per share in the third quarter, above analysts' average estimate of $1.55, according to data compiled by LSEG. Revenue for the quarter ended June 27 rose 5% to $3.03 billion, compared with estimates of $2.23 billion. Aluminum can maker Ball Corp lifts annual profit forecast buoyed by strong global demand
(Reuters) -Ball Corp raised its annual profit forecast on Tuesday, after beating second-quarter results, fueled by resilient demand for its aluminum cans in key markets of North America and Europe, sending its shares up 2% in premarket trading. Ball witnessed a 4.1% rise in global aluminum packaging shipments during the quarter, up from a 2.6% rise in the prior three months. This was driven by demand from packaged food firms, as consumers opted for canned foods and beverages amid sticky inflation, prompting them to cook more at home. The company, serving clients like PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and Constellation Brands, increased beverage packaging sales in North and Central America to $1.61 billion, from $1.47 billion last year. The manufacturer of aluminum cups, bottles and aerosol cans now expects comparable 2025 earnings to grow between 12% and 15%, up from a prior range of 11% to 14% growth. However, tariffs on steel and aluminum have pushed up input costs for companies such as Ball. "We continue to view the direct impact from announced tariffs as manageable and are actively working with our customers to mitigate the effects of volatility in aluminum premium prices," the company said on Tuesday. Ball CEO Daniel Fisher said the company was tightly managing its costs as it expects potential geopolitical uncertainties and market volatility in the second half of the year. Excluding items, it earned a profit of 90 cents per share in the quarter, beating expectations of 87 cents per share, according to data compiled by LSEG. Its revenue jumped 7.8% to $3.34 billion, above estimates of $3.12 billion.
