Nominee: Jasmine Jasudavicius def. Jessica Andrade at UFC 315
Jasmine Jasudavicius passed the sternest test of her career with flying colors against former champion Jessica Andrade.
Jasudavicius (14-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) submitted Jessica Andrade (26-14 MMA, 17-12 UFC) less than three minutes into the opening round of the women's flyweight bout. Jasudavicius picked Andrade up and slammed her down, before quickly transitioning to her back to cinch in the rear-naked choke finish.
Nominee: Benoit Saint Denis def. Kyle Prepolec at UFC 315
Benoit Saint Denis performed like a heavy favorite against short notice replacement Kyle Prepolec in their lightweight bout.
Saint Denis (14-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) ran through the returning Prepolec (18-9 MMA, 0-3 UFC) for an arm-triangle choke at the 2:35 mark of Round 2. After controlling the action throughout, Saint Denis sunk in the finishing technique to snap a two-fight losing skid.
Nominee: Luana Santos def. Tainara Lisboa at UFC Fight Night 256
Luana Santos was a force to be reckoned with in her return to the women's bantamweight division, and Tainara Lisboa felt the wrath.
Santos (9-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) dominated Tainara Lisboa (7-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) with superior grappling, eventually locking in and finishing the first Americana in women's UFC history with just one second remaining in the second round.
Nominee: Jordan Leavitt def. Kurt Holobaugh at UFC on ESPN 68
Jordan Leavitt returned to the octagon from a long layoff and scored one of the most impressive wins of his career against Kurt Holobaugh.
Leavitt (12-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) landed a takedown just seconds into the lightweight contest, and that was the beginning of the end. Holobaugh (21-10 MMA, 2-7 UFC) tried to scramble, but Leavitt transitioned into an anaconda choke and put his foe to sleep in just 99 seconds.
The winner: Ramiz Brahimaj def. Billy Ray Goff at UFC on ESPN 68
Ramiz Brahimaj scored one of the most vicious submissions in recent memory at UFC on ESPN 68 when he put Billy Ray Goff to sleep.
Brahimaj (12-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) applied a tight standing guillotine choke on Goff (9-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in the opening round of their welterweight bout on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and squeezed until he dropped his opponent's lifeless body to the canvas with shades of Jon Jones' finish of Lyoto Machida back in December 2011.
With the win, Brahimaj maintained his 100 percent career finish rate and now has back-to-back wins in the octagon. He said he thinks this is the start of his best days at 170 pounds.
"I feel like I'm home," Brahimaj said in his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier. "I've battled through a lot. I was going to hang up these gloves two years ago due to injuries. I know it's God pushing me toward this journey, so I'm here."

UFC analyst: 'Washed' Michael Chandler winnable fight for Conor McGregor at White House
Michael Bisping thinks Conor McGregor's return fight should sill be against Michael Chandler. Chandler (23-10 MMA, 2-5 UFC) spent over a year waiting for McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) to return, and the pair were eventually booked to fight at UFC 303 last June. However, McGregor withdrew due to a broken pinky toe and has not been scheduled for a fight since. With the UFC working on an event at the White House next July, McGregor has re-entered the drug testing pool. If he does indeed end up coming back, Bisping sees Chandler as the perfect opponent for him to get his first win since 2020. "He doesn't need to fight, and fair play to the guy," Bisping said of McGregor on his YouTube channel. "I do respect the fact that he still wants to fight because, as he said, and as I know, there's no other feeling like it. Will he still be the same Conor McGregor? I very much doubt it. 2016 is nine years ago. That's crazy. Things move on, simple as that. "McGregor's getting a little bit older, but if he wants to come back and he wants to fight on the White House, great. Fair play. Who would he fight? Well, of course, there is the match with Michael Chandler, and it would just be mental if that fight with Michael Chandler actually ended up materializing after Michael Chandler sat on the sidelines for what feels like a goddamn eternity." Chandler, 39, has lost five of his past six fights. Although he's fought top-level competition in the octagon, it's his most recent performance against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 which has Bisping concerned. "Him vs. Chandler, yes an interesting fight, 100 percent – certainly a fight that I would favor Conor McGregor to win," Bisping said. "I think it would be a perfect opponent to come back to and face after so much time away, because the version of Michael Chandler that we saw against Paddy Pimblett was washed. He was done. He was over the hill. He looked terrible."

UFC BMF champ Max Holloway says injury likely to sideline him for rest of 2025
Max Holloway doesn't expect to see the octagon again this year after spoiling Dustin Poirier's retirement fight at UFC 318 in July. Reigning UFC BMF champion Holloway (27-8 MMA, 23-8 UFC) revealed Friday that a lingering hand injury stemming from his unanimous decision win over Poirier in New Orleans is causing more problems than expected, and it likely will prevent him from fighting again in the next few months. "My right hand still hurts," Holloway said on his YouTube channel. "If you have hopes of me fighting before the end of the year, probably not going to happen." Holloway, 33, said he wouldn't specify the exact nature of the injury at this time. He needs additional testing done on it to determine recovery methods and a timeline, then he can determine where he fits in the red-hot lightweight division based on when he's cleared to compete. "I see a specialist some time this week," Holloway said. "Things are not looking too up of me fighting one more time this year."

UFC icon Dustin Poirier confirms new career post-retirement
Dustin Poirier has announced his next career chapter after hanging up the gloves in the UFC. Poirier, 36, enjoyed his last dance in the Octagon at UFC 318 in July, in a thrilling fight against fellow legend Max Holloway, going out in defeat as the Hawaiian pipped him to a decision victory. Holloway got one over on Poirier at the third time of asking, retiring the American in his home state of Louisiana in the pay-per-view's main event. However, 'The Diamond' won't be staying far away from the cage after confirming he'll be swapping the trunks for the suit and tie. Poirier will venture into the media world as an MMA analyst and commentator, joining the likes of Daniel Cormier, Michael Bisping and Dominik Cruz in the contingent of UFC legends turned broadcasters. He confirmed the career switch on X, writing: 'Looking forward to getting back on the ESPN desk, going to start focusing on that now.' Poirier is deemed by many as the best UFC fighter never to win an undisputed title. After beating Holloway to win the interim lightweight title, he was submitted by regular champion Khabib Nurmagomedov while trying to unify the belts. Poirier holds eight wins over six former MMA world champions, four of whom held UFC titles. Those fighters are Holloway, Conor McGregor, Eddie Alvarez, Anthony Pettis, Michael Chandler and Gaethje. Poirier submitted Holloway in their first fight and also beat Pettis and Chandler via submission, while he knocked out McGregor in one of their three clashes and also stopped Alvarez and Gaethje. Poirier lost his first fight with McGregor at featherweight in 2014, before avenging that result with a knockout of the Irishman in 2021, six months before McGregor suffered a broken leg in their trilogy bout. The 'Diamond', who was accompanied by Louisiana rapper Lil Wayne during his ring walk on Saturday, retires with a professional record of 30-10 (1 No Contest). Often named as one of the UFC's best boxers, Poirier secured 15 of his wins via KO/TKO, while he earned eight by submission.
