Kushalnagar municipality begins legacy waste treatment
The municipality waste processing facility in Bhuvanagiri village under Kudige gram panchayat is witnessing substantial progress in various projects under the
Swachh Bharat Mission
, including essential legacy waste treatment operations. Following the completion of tender procedures, the project received approval with a budget of Rs 3.50 crore. The facility, which was overwhelmed with waste for 15 years, posed health risks through infectious diseases, causing significant concerns for nearby residents.
Madikeri constituency MLA Manthar Gowda brought this matter to govt attention, initiating waste treatment under the Swachh Bharat scheme. The project receives funding from municipal resources alongside central and state govt contributions.
Besides, four new waste processing units will be established at Rs 75 lakh, with auxiliary equipment costing Rs 33 lakh. The facility will employ technology to segregate waste into wet, dry, plastic and other categories.
Health officer Uday Kumar said additional development works at the waste processing facility has also started.

The NPPA has fixed its price at Rs 11,966 per vial. The price of a combination drug containing clarithromycin, esomeprazole and amoxicillin which is used to treat peptic ulcer disease - a sore on the lining of the stomach - manufactured by Torrent Pharmaceuticals has been fixed at Rs 162.5 per tablet. The price of a combipack of ceftriaxone, disodium edetate and sulbactam powder used to treat life-threatening infections has been fixed at Rs 626 per vial. NPPA, a government regulatory agency, is responsible for controlling and revising the prices of pharmaceutical products in India. In February, the regulatory body issued an order stating that drug manufacturers must issue a price list to the dealers, state drug controllers and the government, indicating reference to such price fixation or revision as covered by the order or gazette notification issued by the government from time to time. "The order to display the price list is to allow citizens to cross-check whether the pharmacies are selling at the price fixed by NPPA or not," said an official. KGMU to get new diagnostic centre, accommodation block
1 2 Lucknow: To improve patient care and convenience, King George's Medical University (KGMU) will soon establish a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre & patient relative accommodation (PRA) block to offer round-the-clock access to all essential diagnostic tests under one roof. The new facility will be located near the existing trauma centre. The announcement was made on Monday during the launch of several new healthcare services at KGMU by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath . KGMU vice-chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand expressed gratitude to the CM for approving this initiative, which is a part of a broader set of 941 health-related projects across the state. She said that the diagnostic centre and accommodation block would reduce the hassle faced by patients and their attendants, who had to move to various departments for different investigations. The block will include a 20-bed paediatric trauma wing and a mass casualty wing. It will also strengthen and support the services of existing trauma block, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment. Prof Nityanand also outlined the details of the newly constructed multi-storey building at Lari Cardiology Centre, the launch of the Superspecialty Centre for Orthopaedics, and the expansion of the guest house. I will arrange help through various schemes and sources," he added. Medical education minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said that patients not only from UP but also from neighbouring states and even Nepal come to KGMU.
