Grave warning for women lured to grim Dubai 'Porta-Potty' parties with £3k gifts

Daily Mirror2 days ago
WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. Dubai is famed for its luxury lifestyle, attracting hundreds of social media influencers and reality TV stars each year - but behind the glamour lies a disturbing reality that has raised serious concerns for the safety and wellbeing of women visiting the popular tourist destination
Dubai is renowned for its soaring skyscrapers, upscale malls, and the jet-set lifestyle often flaunted by influencers. But behind the city's glossy image is a deeply troubling undercurrent - a rising trend of exploitative gatherings known as "Porta-Potty" parties.
These events, allegedly orchestrated by wealthy men, target young models and social media influencers with promises of large sums of money, designer gifts, and luxury hotel stays. However, the reality behind the opulence is far more sinister, involving reports of extreme sexual humiliation, physical abuse, and serious legal risks for those involved.
Shockingly, the women involved in these parties could even find themselves prosecuted. Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, has warned that women involved in these parties - even against their will - could face charges of adultery or indecency, especially if married men are present.
"Sex outside marriage has been legalised in Dubai, but organisers have exploited this. Women think they're attending a private party - instead, they're thrown into horrific, dangerous situations with real legal risk," Stirling said.
Concern around the issue was recently reignited when an influencer shared on TikTok that a stranger she met at the gym had showered her with expensive gifts - raising questions about the true cost of such apparent generosity.
Jade, who goes by @outplayedbyjade online, is originally from France but travelled to Dubai as she documented her trip online. In her video, she explained how she had been leaving the gym when workers approached her with a gift from someone she had met on the treadmill.
"I didn't think much of it," she explained in the video. A worker handed her a bouquet of flowers and chocolate from the man she had struck up a conversation with.
Flattered, she texted the number he had left with the gift to thank him, after which she then received a call from a shop assistant at the luxury jewellery designer store Van Cleef & Arpels.
"I'm a very curious girl, so I make my way over to the shop," she explained. "This assistant pulls out a beautiful bracelet and a matching necklace." All together, the gifts were worth around £3,000.
And while Jade was over the moon with her gifts, fans were quick to warn the influencer that the man was a "professional" and to "be careful" amid reports of men recruiting women for "Porta-Parties" in Dubai.
One such victim is Maria Kovalchuk, a 20-year-old Ukrainian adult model, who was reportedly left for dead after attending one of these parties. Maria vanished after telling her mother she'd been invited to stay overnight with two men claiming to be modelling agents. She never made her flight to Thailand.
Ten days later, on March 19, she was found dumped at the roadside in Dubai, suffering from a shattered spine, broken limbs, and severe internal injuries. Maria has undergone multiple surgeries, and her family, now at her bedside, are desperate for answers. It's thought she is still recovering from her injuries.
Dubai Police confirmed that Maria is receiving medical care, but claimed she 'entered a restricted construction site alone and fell from a height'. A statement many find hard to accept, given the disturbing rumours swirling around her disappearance.
Russian lawyer Katya Gordon, who has followed the case closely, bluntly alleged: "Model Maria Kovalchuk was found dying on the side of the road in the UAE after a party. The scandal with the Porta Potty parties has been raging for over a year."
Gordon and others allege that Maria may have been forced to take part in a sex act involving human faeces - a central theme of these "Porta-Potty" events, where humiliation and abuse are part of the package.
These parties reportedly involve women being paid vast sums of money to perform grotesque acts involving bodily fluids, degradation and pain.
Viral videos have helped expose this shadowy world, but the abuse is largely hidden by Dubai's shiny reputation and strict censorship laws.
With the rise of "Porta-Potty" stories, experts have warned of red flags to watch out for when travelling to Dubai:

Beware of unverified agents offering large sums of money for vague modelling work.
Never agree to travel alone to private parties or accept all-expenses-paid trips without vetting the hosts.
Check in regularly with friends or family, and always share your location.
Avoid entering private hotel rooms, villas, or yachts with strangers, especially late at night.
Understand the legal risks: Dubai has strict laws, and foreign women can still be charged with public indecency, adultery or prostitution, even if coerced.
Maria's mother told Ukrainian media: "She has no documents, no phone, nothing. She's had three operations. She can't speak. We were told she went to a party, but the promoter claims he never saw her. We're terrified of what really happened."

Riddle is 'impossible' if you can't find answer 'staring you in face'

This riddle may seem impossible to solve – but if you spot the clue hiding inside the question, you're bound to get it correct. So can you figure it out? Brainteasers are a brillian way to keep your mind active. Research has shown they can be beneficial for your mental fitness in a number of ways as they can require critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. They have the potential to improve cognitive abilities when completed regularly – but that isn't the only bonus. They're also highly entertaining and can help to ward off boredom. So if you're in need of a brain boost or a bit of fun today, why not give this tricky riddle a go? ‌ The question was posed during an episode of Lateral with Tom Scott, which is a comedy panel game podcast about strange questions that have even stranger answers. ‌ In a clip of the podcast shared on TikTok, host Tom Scott asked his panellists: "Massachusetts' New England merch only names Irish cities. Why is this ironic?" The statement left many people completely baffled – especially as the US state has nothing to do with Irish cities. Therefore, they wouldn't sell merch there. So to get the solution, you must look a little bit closer. Tom revealed the exact wording of the statement was very important. And if you need some extra help, try looking a bit closer at the words themselves rather than getting caught up in the meaning of sentence. Have you worked out the "impossible" riddle yet? Don't scroll any further if you haven't, as we're about to give you the answer. ‌ Answer The statement is a mnemonic, a phrase used to help you remember important information or how to spell tricky words. Think "Never Eat Shredded Wheat" to remember compass directions, "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain" to recall the colours of the rainbow or "My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets" for the solar system. "Massachusetts' New England Merch Only Names Irish Cities" is also a mnemonic – and it spells the word mnemonic! Even with that explanation, some were still confused. They took to the comments section to share their thoughts. One riddler said: "I can't handle the confusion." Another added: "I would actually hang up the call." And another confessed: "I love this podcast, I hated this question. Not because it's a bad question, I just had loading screen brain the whole time."

People call me a ‘bad mum' for letting my 7-year-old get a spray tan – they need to mind their own business

She's not the only mum to come under fire NO KIDDING People call me a 'bad mum' for letting my 7-year-old get a spray tan – they need to mind their own business Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MUM has clapped back at trolls who slammed her for letting her seven-year-old daughter get a spray tan. The fiery parent took to TikTok to share a sweet moment between her and her little girl, explaining that her daughter had asked for a spray tan and so she booked them both in for one. And while some viewers thought it was adorable, with comments like 'Mum goals!' and 'This is exactly what I want to do with my future daughter', others were less than impressed. One wrote: 'Sorry but you're a bad mum. Let the child be a child.' Another snapped: 'Kids grow so fast nowadays – uhm idk, maybe because you let them? She's 7, she doesn't need a spray tan.' Others chimed in: 'I didn't even know what a spray tan was at seven.', arguing 'She should be tanning by playing out in the sun' and that "It shouldn't even be a subject at that age.' But Noel wasn't having any of it. She clapped back, posting a follow-up video declaring: 'She's just a girlllll!!!' and reminding critics that her daughter's confidence matters more than their opinions. Her TikTok bio reads 'Mind your business' – a pretty clear message to anyone judging her parenting. She even shared a behind-the-scenes clip of her daughter giggling as she got her tan sprayed on. I used tanning nasal sprays twice but they've left me with permanent skin damage, they made me feel dizzy & nauseous too - says former Miss GB Still, the backlash kept coming, with more parents commenting things like 'Please stop' and 'Why are we normalising this?' But some were quick to defend her, pointing out that a spray tan is a safer alternative to sunbathing, which exposes skin to dangerous UV rays. One supporter wrote: 'Spray tan better than getting a sun tan and skin cancer – I say go for it!' Experts warn that there's no such thing as a 'safe' tan from the sun and any darkening of the skin is actually a sign of cell damage, which can even lead to skin cancer. So a spray tan seems like a safer option. But the row taps into a wider debate on whether kids are growing up too fast. According to a study by the Department for Education, 88% of parents believe children are being pressured to mature too early – pointing fingers at celebrity culture, adult-style clothing, and social media. This mum isn't the first to come under fire for letting her child embrace beauty trends. One mum admitted she lets her six and seven-year-olds wear make-up and false nails, calling it 'harmless fun'. And in the US, 10-year-old Naiya White, who started wearing make-up at age three, now calls herself a 'Sephora kid', with a nine-step skincare routine, 200+ beauty products, and over £1.5k spent on cosmetics. Her mum, a former Ulta make-up artist, insists it's all about encouraging self-expression and looking after your skin. As for this spray-tan-loving mum, she's made it clear, she's raising her daughter her way, and the haters can kindly scroll on.

Brit paedophile behind fake Disneyland wedding ‘took child bride, 9, and her mum on holiday' before grim ceremony

A CONVICTED Brit paedophile allegedly took a nine-year-old "child bride" and her mum on holiday a year before arranging a grim wedding ceremony. Jacky Jhaj, 39, attempted to marry the young Ukrainian girl in Disneyland last month before the "dangerous sexual predator" was arrested. 6 Convicted Brit paedophile Jacky Jhaj allegedly took his nine-year-old 'child bride' and her mum on holiday Credit: MET Police 6 Jhaj, 39, attempted to marry the young Ukrainian girl in Disneyland last month Credit: 6 His sick plan was foiled by Vitalijs - a former Russian special forces paratrooper Credit: Peter Allen Jhaj reportedly spent over £111,000 on the sick wedding plans as he hired more than 100 actors to play guests at the staged event. One of those recruited through a social media callout was told he would play the 'father' of the bride. Devastated Vitalijs, 54, said he had no idea what he had signed up for prior to turning up in Paris. The former Russian special forces paratrooper was one of the first to raise the alarm about the sickening marriage plot. Vitalijs says one major warning sign of Jhaj's true intentions came after he spoke to the bride-to-be's mum. She revealed the London-born predator had been in constant contact with the family for over a year. Jhaj had spoiled the mum with money and gifts and even paid for a family holiday, Vitalijs claimed. He told The Telegraph: "This Ukrainian woman [the mother] told me that she had known this Jacky for a year. "He paid her money and helped her family. "They went somewhere together to relax, the three of them. I think he won her over with gifts." Massive fireball explosion near O2 arena caused by convicted paedophile who blew up BBC lorry while filming NAKED Vitalijs, who only uses his first name for security reasons, also revealed he was offered £550 to play "the father of the bride". But he was lied to as he signed up to give away the girl's 41-year-old mother. He soon realised inside the theme park the "bride" was instead an underage girl as he immediately refused to be a part of the bizarre act. Vitalijs then hatched a plan to get the ceremony cancelled as he broke into the park without a pass on the morning of the planned event. Vitalijs approached the wedding stage and handed a note to Disney staff, who saw a "scared and confused" child in a big dress with four-inch heels taped to her feet. Staff managed to stop the wedding immediately and called the French cops. Several suspects were arrested within minutes - including Jhaj and the girl's mum. Jean-Baptiste Bladier, the Meaux prosecutor, confirmed the Ukrainian child had not suffered "any violence, neither physical nor sexual" and had "not been forced into playing the bride". The mum was later released without charge but Jhaj was held after being labelled the "mastermind" behind the operations. It was then revealed that he had rented the resort outside of its opening hours to host the fake wedding. His sick acts landed him charges of fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and identity theft. He was also placed under assisted witness status for corruption of a minor. After his arrest, the convicted paedophile told the examining magistrates in Meaux: "I'm just a simple actor who took part in a film shoot". His dark past was soon uncovered as in 2016 Jhaj was found guilty of sexual activity with two 15-year-olds in Britain. The investigation into the fake wedding continues. Who is Jacky Jhaj? CONVICTED paedophile Jacky Jhaj, 39, has been previously jailed in the UK for child sex offences. He was on the run from British authorities at the time of the sick wedding stunt, French prosecutors say. The disgraced director and actor, from Feltham, was jailed in 2016 for four years after being found guilty on four counts of sexual activity with two 15-year-olds. Before his arrest, he drove around the streets of Hounslow, offering girls alcohol and claiming to be a Hollywood film producer. But the convicted paedophile has pulled a string of bizarre stunts since being released from jail. In September 2024, Jhaj staged an explosion using an old BBC truck and Union Jack-draped vehicles packed with explosives, filming himself naked as the blaze spiralled out of control behind him. The incident was reported to be a film production stunt. But it triggered panic, with hundreds of calls flooding emergency services as locals feared a terrorist attack. Residents were not warned beforehand and only found out afterwards through a post on the Borough of Greenwich's official Facebook page. A year before the explosion, footage surfaced of Jhaj mixing with around 200 children and 100 young women at a film shoot in London's Leicester Square. The shoot, which shows some of the children touching Jhaj, took place on October 17, 2023, the BBC revealed at the time. The BBC reported that the organiser of the event - known as "Project BRT" - hired 90 children aged six to 14 from an agency called Jam 200 The production also booked around 100 young women between the ages of 16 to 24 from Uni-versal Extras. 6 A bracelet given to guests at the fake ceremony showed the name 'Jack' as the pretend husband on behalf of paedophile Jacky Credit: Instagram/bfmtv 6 Jhaj was charged with several offences by French police
