Matthew Berry Names His No. 1 Fantasy Football Player For 2025
Matthew Berry Names His No. 1 Fantasy Football Player For 2025 originally appeared on The Spun. This year's Pro Football Hall of Fame Game has finally arrived, which means the NFL regular season is just around the corner. That also means it's time for fantasy football owners to dust off their big boards. There'll be plenty of running backs selected in the first round of fantasy football drafts, such as Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. If we had to guess, a lot of winners last year had Barkley on their roster. The All-Pro had 2,005 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles. On the flip side, there are a few players that fantasy football owners will need to gamble on, like Christian McCaffrey and Ashton Jeanty. No one knows how McCaffrey will perform after dealing with bilateral Achilles tendonitis for a year. As for Jeanty, fans are just wondering how the Las Vegas Raiders will utilize him during his rookie season. If fans are hoping for a safe bet, they'll have to hope they land the No. 1 pick in their upcoming draft. As of July 31, fantasy football expert Matthew Berry has Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase as the top option on his big board. That's not a huge surprise considering how well he performed last season. Chase finished the 2024 season with 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was undoubtedly the best wide receiver in the NFL. Berry isn't the only person who has Chase ranked as the No. 1 fantasy player. ESPN also has the former Offensive Rookie of the Year in that spot. The Bengals gave Chase a four-year, $161 million contract extension this past offseason. They'd love to see him put up similar numbers this fall. We're pretty sure fantasy football owners would love to see Chase go for 1,700 yards as Berry Names His No. 1 Fantasy Football Player For 2025 first appeared on The Spun on Jul 31, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 31, 2025, where it first appeared.

August is around the corner, NFL training camps are in session, and the fantasy landscape for the 2025 season is taking shape. With proven mobility on the ground and an improved offensive line in place, Caleb Williams is firmly on the radar as a contender for Matthew Berry's 2025 'Ride or Die' pick. Matthew Berry sifts through pitches from Rotoworld football writers for his 2025 'Ride or Die' pick, making cases for and against Bucky Irving, Puka Nacua, Travis Hunter, and several others.

Matthew Berry's updated and expanded positional rankings for 2025 fantasy football season
With no concerns about Omarion Hampton's game ahead of his rookie year, Matthew Berry & Co. share why veteran Najee Harris looms as the only obstacle blocking Hampton from being a top-tier 'Ride or Die' candidate. Here are my updated and expanded 2025 positional rankings for PPR leagues. While these rankings are intended for full PPR leagues, a switch to half PPR or standard scoring would not result in very many significant changes. These rankings are also intended to be used primarily for managed re-draft leagues. If you're playing best ball, they can still serve as a good reference, but keep in mind that players with extremely high single-week and late-season upside move up significantly in those formats. As always, a lot will change during August, so these rankings are extremely fluid. I'll continue to adjust as news comes out and depth charts change, so definitely keep checking back in for the latest updates to both these rankings as well as my Top 200 overall. In the meantime, let me know who you think I'm either too low or too high on for this upcoming season! And don't forget I will be revealing my 'Ride or Die' player for this year on Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m. ET during the 2025 NFL Hall of Fame game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions on NBC and Peacock!
