Jacqui Felgate buys $4.35m luxury Mornington Peninsula retreat
Property documents confirm the couple purchased the over-7ha property earlier this year, finalising the sale in February after a month-long campaign.
The 3AW Drive presenter, former 7News anchor and now prominent digital commentator referred at the move on her Instagram page, telling followers she had 'finally bought' while posting a series of images tagged to the Peninsula, including a cosy shot of herself in front of a striking two-way fireplace.
The home, built with blackbutt and silvertop ash timber, wraps around the fireplace and showcases sweeping views through double-glazed windows.
A sundeck runs the length of the home, with the open-plan kitchen and dining zone finished in high-end stone, a Falcon range, and a butler's pantry.
The estate also has a separate wing with three bedrooms, another fireplace, and a designer bathroom with a luxurious bathtub.
The home's eco credentials are boosted with a solar and battery system, while the rich Mornington Peninsula soil profile makes it suitable for a vineyard or primary production.
An industry source familiar with the sale said the home offered 'exactly what high-end buyers are chasing right now, privacy, lifestyle, and a low-maintenance architectural design that blends into the landscape'.
'The market in that part of the Peninsula has held up well. Quality homes like this, especially with acreage and strong sustainability features, are still commanding attention,' the source said.
Records show the property was listed with $5.3m-$5.6m price hopes, before selling for $4.35m.
The listing agent declined to comment on the sale.
The new home offers a peaceful escape minutes from some of Victoria's best restaurants, wineries and walking trails.

Australia lifts biosecurity ban on US beef after decade-long review, aim to ease Trump tariffs
Australia has opened the door to more US beef imports by lifting biosecurity restrictions, as the government seeks ways to dampen the blow from Donald Trump's tariff regime. The federal government revealed the changes on Thursday while stressing that the decision follows a decade-long science-based review. 'The Albanese Labor government will never compromise on biosecurity,' Agriculture Minister Julie Collins said. 'Australia stands for open and fair trade - our cattle industry has significantly benefited from this. '(The department) is satisfied the strengthened control measures put in place by the US effectively manage biosecurity risks.' Although the US has been able to send beef to Australia since 2019, any beef raised in Canada or Mexico before being slaughtered and processed in the US was previously barred due to biosecurity concerns. One concern was that Mexico's livestock tracking system could inadvertently lead producers to import beef from parts of the continent where there were disease outbreaks. But the latest announcement will lift the ban on beef sourced from Canada or Mexico after the US introduced more robust movement controls in late 2024 and early 2025 allowing for improved identification and tracing throughout the supply chain. The change could be used as a bargaining chip as Australia continues to push for tariff exemptions from the US after the US president earlier this year demanded Canberra lift the beef import restrictions. Australia is the biggest exporter of beef to the US. According to Bendigo Bank's recent mid-year agriculture outlook, Aussie beef will continue to be on the menu in the US, where herd numbers are in decline due to drought and increased costs of agricultural inputs. Most Australian goods sent to the US currently face a 10 per cent tariff, while steel and aluminium products have been slapped with a 50 per cent tariff. Mr Trump has also threatened a tariff on pharmaceutical imports to the US, which is one of Australia's biggest exports to its ally. Although Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is yet to secure a face-to-face meeting with Mr Trump - after their first scheduled talks were scuppered by the conflict in the Middle East - Australia has largely avoided the brunt of the tariffs as most of its exports are only exposed to the baseline levy. But other aspects of the US-Australia relationship remain uncertain. The nuclear submarine deal between Australia, the US and the UK - under the AUKUS security alliance - could be in peril after the Pentagon launched a review to examine whether the agreement aligns with Mr Trump's 'US first' agenda. However, Mr Albanese has confirmed Australia made another scheduled payment as part of the deal to acquire US nuclear submarines, taking the total paid to $1.6 billion so far. 'It's about increasing ... their industrial capacity' to build the submarines, he told ABC television on Wednesday. Under the $368 billion program, Australia will buy at least three Virginia-class submarines from the US sometime in the early 2030s. A new class of nuclear submarines will be built in Adelaide to be delivered in the 2040s.

Strategic Bellarine Peninsula motel site well placed for expansion
A Bellarine Peninsula motel at the gateway to Drysdale has sparked the imagination of buyers keen to unlock the potential of the strategic site. The 1.61ha property is currently operating as Lakeview Hideaway, where 10 refurbished motel units provide an established income stream. But Whitford Troost, Newtown listing agent Ryan Troost said there was significant scope to add value, with a restaurant and storage facilities among ideas being tossed around by potential investors. He's calling for expressions of interest in the property, at 186 High St, Drysdale, by August 14. It's expected to fetch in the mid to high $4m range. Mr Troost said it offered the flexibility of an existing income stream, a four-bedroom house and excess land ripe for further expansion or development. The current owners have renovated the 10 motel units to create accessible accommodation for people of all abilities. Each has its own ensuite and kitchenette and access to a communal swimming pool, spa and covered barbecue area. 'There is an income now and I think there is certainly room to up the market for that motel business,' Mr Troost said. 'There has been some investment there but there is always some room for improvement to increase that. 'There is also a house on the property that someone could potentially use for accommodation. It's currently being used by the accommodation manager.' He said the additional land, which includes three substantial sheds, could pave the way for more motel units, subject to council approval. The site has two road frontages, with access also available off Hackwill Place. 'We have had a range of inquiries, some people are looking at putting a restaurant there or storage, as well as investors,' he said. 'It's currently a rural living zone, but there is another property to the south with the same zoning and, interestingly, that's a petrol station so there is a bit of a precedent for some future development.' The site is a short drive from the Drysdale town centre and walking distance to Lake Lorne and the Bellarine Rail Trail. It's also on the doorstep of the Curlewis Golf Club and Leura Park Estate winery. Mr Troost said the recent rezoning of land on opposite the motel for housing would only further fuel growth in the area.
