Speaking on the occasion, he said road safety vehicles were allotted to the district for better traffic management for road safety. He said police personnel will use the road safety vehicles for traffic management.
He said the three Royal Enfield Bullets, 30 TVS Apache vehicles were given to Guntur district for patrolling. He further said that they take steps to check traffic problems in Guntur, Tulluru, Tadepalli, Tenali, Mangalagiri and Ponnuru. He said the police personnel will conduct patrolling to check rash driving, bike races and traffic problems. Additional SPs GV Ramana Murthy, A Hanumanthu, traffic DSP Ramesh, Guntur West traffic circle inspector Singaiah, RIs Sri Hari Reddy, Sivarama Krishna were present.

Srinagar: Amid rumours of further bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir a day before the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, CM Omar Abdullah on Monday said "nothing will happen tomorrow". "I've heard every possible permutation & combination about what to expect in J&K tomorrow so let me stick my neck out and say nothing will happen tomorrow - fortunately nothing bad will happen but unfortunately nothing positive will happen either (sic)," Omar wrote on X, as the state remained abuzz that Jammu may become a separate state. "I'm still optimistic about something positive for J&K in this monsoon session of Parliament but not tomorrow (sic)," Omar said in a veiled reference to restoration of statehood, adding: "And no, I haven't had any meetings or conversations with people in Delhi. High court tells Punjab DGP to submit details of cops with pending FIRs
Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana high court has directed the Punjab DGP to file an affidavit on Punjab Police officials facing FIRs (first information reports) but still continuing in service. The DGP has been instructed to furnish the name and designation of such officers, their current place of posting, and full details of the FIRs. This includes the FIR number, date of registration, specific offences, and the police station where the case was lodged. The state police chief is also required to provide updates on the status of investigation or trial for each case, whether any disciplinary or departmental action has been initiated, the status of those proceedings, and crucially, the date of reinstatement for any officers who were previously dismissed but later rejoined the force. Justice N S Shekhawat has passed the orders while taking note of a bail petition filed by an accused facing charges under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act. During the hearing, the high court was informed that inspector Vijay Kumar, who was dismissed from service, was reinstated. The court was told that the officer was facing a criminal case under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, vigilance bureau police station, Patiala, yet he was retained in service and posted at police lines, Barnala. High court asks DGP Punjab to submit details of police officers with Pending FIRs
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the DGP, Punjab, to file his affidavit regarding all the officials/officers of Punjab Police against whom FIRs have been registered and are still continuing in service. The state police chief has also been asked to provide further details like the status of investigation/trial, whether any disciplinary/departmental action was taken against the officer, the status of disciplinary/departmental proceedings, and the date of reinstatement of such officers in Punjab Police. Justice N S Shekhawat passed these orders while taking note of a bail petition filed by an accused facing drugs and cases related to the Arms Act. During the hearing of the matter, the HC was informed that one Inspector Vijay Kumar, who was earlier dismissed from service, was reinstated. The court was apprised that the said officer was facing a criminal case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala, yet he was retained in service and posted at Police Line, Barnala. On this, while expanding the scope of the petition, the court directed the DGP Punjab to furnish details about the cops facing criminal charges. The matter has now been fixed for August 25 for further hearing.
