Karan Johar says his kids don't lack 'mother's love', admits they now ask 'how they came into this world'
Karan Johar recently debuted his podcast Live Your Best Life with Karan Johar on Audible. In episode 4, he interacted with fashion designer and actor Masaba Gupta on parenting and other things. Karan said that the twins, Yash and Roohi, are now 8 and have started to ask questions about their birth, which he needs to address soon. 'Those questions have started. And while I've been poetic so far about it with them, I've said, 'You've come from Dada's heart,' I will have to have a chat with my twins about how they came into this world.'
Karan added that while raising the kids as a single dad was 'not the easiest', it was worth it. 'Raising Roohi and Yash with mum (his mother, Hiroo Johar) is the single best decision I've made in my life. Best. But it was certainly not the easiest. For my kids, they couldn't be further from lacking 'a mother's love' – they have my mum and they have an endless shower of love and support of my found family - Putlu (Kajal Anand), Shweta (Bachchan), Gauri (Khan), Farah (Khan), and Neha (Dhupia).'
Karan Johar's last directorial venture was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which was released in 2023. The romantic drama starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the titular roles, alongside Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog. The film was a commercial success, grossing ₹355 crore worldwide.

Actress Ruchi Gujjar slaps producer Karan Singh at film premiere over ₹23 lakh 'fraud': ‘Started threatening'
Actress Ruchi Gujjar, who wore the viral PM Modi necklace at Cannes film festival this year, slapped and hit Karan Singh Chauhan, producer of Hindi crime thriller So Long Valley at film premiere, over alleged ₹ 23 lakh deal fraud. She said he began threatening her after she asked him to pay back the money which she reportedly paid for a project that didn't even commence. Ruchi filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him, implicating him in criminal breach of trust, and intimidation in a financial dispute, as per an India Today report. It was registered at Oshiwara police station on July 24, 2025. Karan had assured her a profit share and on-screen credit, she alleged, mentioning, 'He offered to add me as a co-producer and also sent documents related to the project.' She claimed to have paid Karan's K Studios multiple times between July 2023 and January 2024 through her company, SR Event and Entertainment. The project, however, never kicked-off. "Despite repeated contacts, he kept postponing them and lied," she said. Ruchi added the money was allegedly used for the production of So Long Valley instead of the TV project, saying, 'When I got the information that the film is releasing on July 27, I told him to return my money now, on which he started threatening me.' So Long Valley Director Man Singh said, 'Model Ruchi Gujjar and Karan Singh know each other very well. If she paid some amount to Karan for our movie, she should provide the evidence. It's a publicity stunt, nothing else.' Karan had contacted her in 2024 stating he was producing a Hindi television serial that would soon come on Sony TV, Singh noted, according to a PTI report. In a statement, he also said Ruchi sought a stay on the film's release, but the court permitted it to proceed as scheduled. Mumbai police has filed an FIR under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Karan.

Ruchi Gujjar slaps producer Karan Singh at film premiere, files police complaint alleging Rs 23 lakh fraud
An FIR was registered against Karan Singh, the producer of Hindi film So Long Valley, for allegedly cheating model Ruchi Gujjar of Rs 23 lakh, a Mumbai police official said on Saturday. Viral videos showed Ruchi purportedly slapping Karan during the movie premiere event held on Friday night. The film's co-producer Man Singh, however, accused the model of staging a 'publicity stunt.' In videos gone viral on social media, Ruchi is seen staging protest at the So Long Valley premiere in Mumbai, along with a few associates. They're heard shouting slogans. After losing her cool, the model is even seen smacking Karan with her sandal. An Oshiwara police station official confirmed that an FIR was registered against Karan Singh on Thursday under various sections for cheating on a complaint lodged by Ruchi Gujjar. The model alleged that Karan had taken money from her under the pretext of launching a movie project for a television channel, and promised her a share in the profit and on-screen credit, the official said. 'The complainant said the project never materialized and Singh didn't return her money,' he added. The police have registered a case under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). So Long Valley is a Hindi-language crime thriller film starring Tridha Choudhury and Vikram Kochhar. Meanwhile, the film's director and co-producer Man Singh said that Ruchi Gujjar was resorting to a 'publicity stunt'. In a statement, Man claimed that Ruchi tried to get a stay on the film's release, but the court allowed them to go ahead as per its schedule. 'Model Ruchi Gujjar and Karan Singh know each other very well. If she paid some amount to Karan for our movie, she should provide the evidence. It's a publicity stunt, nothing else,' he added. As per an India Today report, Ruchi Gujjar alleged in her complaint that she transferred several amounts worth a combined sum of Rs 24 lakh from her company, SR Event and Entertainment, into accounts linked to Karan Singh's K Studios. However, the project they planned never saw the light of day. 'Despite repeated contacts, he kept postponing them and lied,' the actor said in her complaint. She's also provided her call logs and details of the financial transactions as part of the supporting evidence to her complaint. Ruchi Gujjar is a Haryanvi model who grabbed eyeballs earlier this year when she wore a necklace consisting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face to the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival in France.
