'Sticks, bats and iron bars used' in disorder in Derry by 'rival football fans;

There were ugly scenes surrounding the Brandywell on Friday night as police believe there was a 'pre-arranged' disorder by rival football fans.
The PSNI are investigating public disorder in the Lecky Road and Lone Moor area where fans were seen 'attacking each other' with 'sticks, bats, and iron bars' while further disorder was seen in the vicinity of the Brandywell.
Politician Padraig Delargy said of the incident: 'The sight of masked youths armed with an array of weapons, and fighting in the streets before turning on the PSNI was terrifying for local residents, including children, who witnessed this appalling violence.
'In what seems to have been be a pre-arranged attack connected to a football match at the Brandywell, the violence erupted when so-called football supporters from Dublin attacked local youths as well as cars and property belonging to residents."That is disgraceful and the violence that took place on our streets needs to be condemned."It threatened the safety and well-being of local residents and stands in stark contrast to the fantastic work that is going on in the area through the Féile and the redevelopment of Meenan Square.'
In a statement from the PSNI when contacted by the Irish Mirror, they said: "Shortly after 7pm on Friday evening, police were made aware of two large groups of rival football supporters in the area attacking each other near the Lecky Road flyover with sticks, bats and iron bars and causing damage to buildings and cars parked in the area."
The PSNI said a teenage boy and man in his 20s were taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries.
"Further disorder then occurred in the vicinity of the Brandywell stadium during and after a football match which was taking place. Officers were in attendance and worked along with stadium staff to bring the disorder under control. No arrests have been made at this time."
Superintendent William Calderwood said: 'We believe that the disorder we witnessed on Friday evening was pre-arranged and we will be reviewing all available footage to identify those involved."
The PSNI also urged anyone with footage or who can assist to contact officers at Strand Road on 101, quoting reference number 1637 25/07/25.

Twisted Mexican cartel decapitates pregnant teen and puts head in cooler

A pregnant 16-year-old girl was kidnapped, tortured, murdered and decapitated by a Mexican drug cartel, with her head left in a cooler to send a message. Noemí's head was found in Tabasco as gang violence continues to plague the region. It comes as questions still surround the kidnapping and murder of Irma Hernández Cruz in Veracruz. On Thursday, July 24, a white Styrofoam cooler was found on the Vía Corta Cunduacán–La Isla highway, near the Juárez Autonomous University of Tabasco. Inside, authorities found a human head wrapped in a black bag, along with a narco-message written by a local criminal group. It comes after a doctor was decapitated by lift in a hospital accident as colleague watched in horror. Days later, relatives identified the young victim: Noemí "N," 16. She had been missing for days before her discovery. RLocal media reports indicate that Noemí was pregnant at the time of the crime. The teenager was abducted in the La Libertad community, tortured, and ultimately decapitated. The rest of the body was found in a plastic drum floating in the Samaria River, also in Cunduacán. Investigations continue into her remains. Authorities have not commented or detailed any possible motives or progress in the investigation. The case raised alarms beyond Tabasco. Activists and groups of victims' families strongly criticized the authorities' inaction and complicity. Brayan LeBaron , a renowned anti-violence activist, wrote on social media: 'Children are not messengers of fear. In Tabasco, Noemí was beheaded; she was a 16-year-old girl. Her fate was to end up in a cooler, and her life was used to send a message that seeks to continue sowing terror. The worst thing is that our children are paying for this complicity with their lives. We cannot allow our children to end up being the messengers of fear.' Meanwhile, Ceci Flores , from the Madres Buscadoras collective of Sonora, spoke to the family's grief: "There is no greater pain than that felt when you lose a child, but it is multiplied when you know that their farewell was filled with suffering and fear and you weren't there to defend them." Noemí's and Irma Hernández Cruz, highlights concerns surrounding women's safety in Mexican communities facing gang violence amid extreme methods used by organised criminals to instill fear and maintain territorial control. Questions remain regarding how these women can be protected. Missing Irish man last seen over two weeks ago found alive in Paris

Robert Kincaid, a Belfast native who had last been seen over two weeks ago, has been found alive in Paris, his family have confirmed. It is understood that the 38-year-old was found by emergency services in the French capital on Friday and is currently receiving emergency medical treatment. Confirming the news to Belfast Live on Friday, Robert's brother Louis said: "Rab has been found by emergency services and is requiring ongoing emergency treatment. While he is not out of the woods yet, we are just glad he is alive. "As a family, we would ask for privacy in the time ahead as we deal with the situation." Robert had been missing since he missed his connecting flight at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on Thursday, July 17. He had travelled there from Benin in West Africa, where he had been working on an oil rig. Robert was initially due to travel home on July 30, but it has since been established that he left the oil rig early for reasons that remain unclear. Mr Kincaid, 38, from Tullycarnet in East Belfast, had been due to board a connecting flight to Dublin. He later told a friend he was in the airport bar after missing his flight, but his family were met with silence when they tried to contact him. Two FaceTime calls to his phone on the evening of July 17 were answered by unknown individuals, one man, then a woman and there had been no trace of him since. Robert's family travelled to Paris on Wednesday to work directly with the French authorities to locate their brother, travelling across the city and putting up missing persons posters.
