As he chatted to Poppy, who was also in the audience, he said: 'It wasn't my decision to dump you.'
Remell decided to ditch Poppy in favour of Alima after The Sleepover, despite sharing a bed with her and kissing her.
Those watching at home were confused by his comment, with one person remarking: 'Remell has just said live on TV 'It wasn't my decision to dump you' so just told us that Love Island is just one big set up!'
A second said: 'What did remmell mean by 'it wasn't my decision to dump you' when speaking to poppy????????'
While a third added: 'What does Remmel mean it wasn't his decision to dump Poppy? Producers pushing the agenda? Did he let that slip?'

Others however were quick to clarify what he meant - that he didn't know she would go home if she wasn't picked.
Speaking about his time on the show, Remell said: 'Despite me having what seemed to be a good connection with Poppy, my heart was telling me that I had to see it through with Alima. The dynamic with Poppy was more what I'm used to on the outside. But building up slowly with Alima made me realise that that's important.
'I didn't necessarily have to share the bed and kiss outside of the Truth or Dare game, however, being true to myself I'm naturally very flirty. I still acted like how I would on the outside.
'There was never a conversation with Alima about being exclusive, we hadn't had that chat and hadn't spoken properly about boundaries either.'

He admitted that things with Alima didn't end on the best of terms, saying: 'Things were left a bit sour. The reality is, the woman that was opening my heart and turning me into a lover boy is never going to truly know how I feel about her.
'I was ready to tell her everything once I came back to the Villa, but because the conversation didn't end well, we didn't get to properly talk. We're both stubborn so it was hard to see eye to eye.'
