Tesco axes Clubcard offer
Now, Tesco has axed the Clubcard offer on its own-brand soft drinks, much to the disappointment of customers.
Tesco's own-brand canned soft drinks come in various different flavours, including Orange Zero, Cream Soda, Ginger Beer, Lemon & Lime Zero and Diet Lemonade.

This works out to be 30p a can.
However, the Clubcard offer has now been canned, with shoppers having to pay 55p per soft drink.
Five ways to save money on your weekly food shop
Clubcard members have vented their frustration online, revealing just how angry they are with Tesco's decision to scrap the offer.
One person, posting on the Tesco website, said: "Very disappointed now Tesco stopped selling it (canned soft drink) in my local store, had to buy on line and now charging 55p a can no longer on the multi deal.
"I'm sure Tesco would have made their money on the sales? The product is 5* Tesco 1*."
Another added: "Really good drink nice flavour specially over ice.
"But I can't believe Tesco being stingy and stopping the offer tho all because hit warm and they are selling to many cans of drink."
@Tesco why have you stopped your Clubcard offer on mixed cans of your own brand soft drinks - 6 for £1.50? I have used this offer for months as I find the flavour is very good, especially the ginger beer which I think is as good as any other make — David Boyes (@DavidBoyes76) June 26, 2025

Tesco has been contacted for comment.
Tesco introduces new "VAR-style" checkouts
This isn't the only change at Tesco recently, with the supermarket also rolling out new "VAR-style" checkouts in stores across the UK back in May.
The new self-service checkout systems, rolled out in "some" Tesco stores, feature a camera that records customers scanning and packing their shopping.
Playback clips will then be shown to shoppers if they scan items incorrectly, with a message like: "It looks like that last item didn't scan".
A Tesco spokesperson said: "We are always looking at technology to make life easier for our customers.
"We have recently installed a new system at some stores which helps customers using self-service checkouts identify if an item has not been scanned properly, making the checkout process quicker and easier."

Shoppers took to social media, following the rollout, to share their thoughts on the new-look checkouts at Tesco, which were previously dubbed "VAR-style".
One customer, posting on X (formerly Twitter), commented: "Shouldn't have to do these sort of things today in society."
While another added: "Just bring back staffed tills - simple option."
Tesco isn't the only supermarket chain to introduce this new self-service checkout in stores, with Sainsbury's also rolling out a similar system back in May.

Wetherspoons boss gives pub pricing update and slams ‘no-sense' tax pressures on boozers

The pub chain is still "pushing ahead and investing in the future ," with plans to open 30 new pubs next year PRICE IS RIGHT Wetherspoons boss gives pub pricing update and slams 'no-sense' tax pressures on boozers SIR Tim Martin will not increase Wetherspoons' food and drink prices in the coming months, The Sun can reveal. The Spoons boss said he would be able to make the pledge after revealing sales are now higher than before the pandemic, despite slamming the government's "no-sense" tax policies. 1 The price promise came as Wetherspoons reported a 5.1% sales boost in 12 weeks to July 20 Credit: Jon Bond - The Sun Wetherspoon increased prices on some drinks and meal deals by up to 30p back in January. However, Sir Tim told The Sun: "We intent to hold prices at least for the summer and autumn." The price promise came as Wetherspoons reported a 5.1% sales boost in 12 weeks to July 20, driven by strong demand for draught beers like Guinness. The chain's shares jumped 3.6% as it announced sales volumes have now exceeded pre-pandemic levels. Demand for New Zealand vino and Italian prosecco has also helped drive its recovery. However, Sir Tim continues to slam the Labour government's unfair tax rules, saying they favour supermarkets and called for equal VAT and business rates for pubs. He said: "The pandemic obviously had a big effect on the hospitality industry and it's taken some to recover. "But we're affected by a difficult regulatory and taxation regions." Sir Tim said that two major taxes need to be adjusted to help keep hospitalty "competitive and attractive for foreign capital". He said: "Pubs must have tax equality with supermarkets. "It makes no sense to give supermarkets favourable tax treatment - pubs pay 20% VAT on food sales and supermarkets pay nothing. "Plus, we're forced to pay 28p of business rates per print versus 2p for supermarkets selling the same product." Despite these hurdles, Wetherspoon is "pushing ahead and investing in the future," with plans to open 30 new pubs next year and invest in gardens and staff spaces as the chain continues to thrive. While the exact locations haven't been revealed yet, these new sites add to several openings announced earlier this year, including one on the former grounds of The London Dungeon. The Sun Wharf on Tooley Street, London Bridge is due to open on September 2. The posh London neighbourhood of Fulham has also welcomed a new Spoons located in the old West London tube station. Fans will be treated to three more openings this year, including a branch in Warwickshire which will open on July 29. Two more sites are also due to open in Paddington and Beaconsfield. Alongside expanding its estate, the chain has also been selling some of its smaller, older pubs. The chain runs 794 pubs in the UK and Ireland. The Wetherspoon boss confirmed he remains "very keen" on the idea of opening pubs overseas through the company's rapidly growing franchise business. The pub giant already operates a few franchised pubs on university campuses and seven pubs within Haven Holiday parks. Sir Tim added that he is "open to anything," including launching pubs in airports and campsites.

Tesco knocks £96 off iPhone 15 for Clubcard members – now just £29.99 a month

ANYONE in the market for a new handset will want to check this one out. Tesco Mobile is offering the Apple iPhone 15 for just £29.99 a month, but only for Clubcard holders. I've been covering iPhone deals for a while now, and some of the best offers often come from the big supermarkets. Tesco's deal gets you the iPhone 15 for £29.99 a month, exclusively for Clubcard members. The plan includes 6GB of data, with the monthly SIM price dropped from £15 to £13.50, and the handset cost coming in at £16.49. It's a solid option if you want a high-quality iPhone but don't need the latest and greatest, and just want enough data to get through the month. Without a Clubcard, the price jumps to £31.49 a month, so you're saving £96 over the 36-month contract. Plus, Clubcard prices are frozen for the duration of your contract, which means no surprise hikes later on. If you're not already a member, signing up for a Clubcard is free, and with the perks it unlocks, it's a no-brainer. If you need more data, Tesco's also offering the iPhone 15 with 50GB for £34.99 a month with a Clubcard. Even non-member prices are decent, and with Tesco Mobile axing sneaky mid-contract price hikes, it's one of the more shopper-friendly networks out there. This is a great price for the iPhone 15, which is still one of the best models Apple has put out in recent years. You get a 6.1-inch display and Apple's slick Dynamic Island feature, which replaced the old notch and brings the UI up to date. There's also a powerful 48MP main camera that captures plenty of detail, perfect for family snaps and everyday moments. But so you're not caught off guard, if you're used to charging with a Lightning cable, the iPhone 15 has moved to USB-C, now the standard across most devices. Tesco is also one of the mobile providers with no roaming charges, so it's a good choice for those planning summer holidays abroad. And if this deal isn't quite right, other standout offers are doing the rounds this month. Right now, you can get £418 worth of free tech with the Samsung Galaxy S24, with deals starting at £24.99 a month. Or if you're happy with your phone, Smarty's SIM-only deals are hard to beat, like 200GB of data for just £12 a month with double data included. If you're still undecided, check out our full roundup of the across all the major networks.

Tesco shoppers have less than a week to earn 1,000 'bonus' Clubcard points

Clubcard users will need to act fast. Tesco shoppers can earn even more Clubcard points with one neat trick. However, they have less than one week left to ensure they don't miss out. ‌ Those who are signed up to the supermarket's popular loyalty scheme can earn points on their shopping, with a voucher worth £5 being made up of 500 Clubcard points. ‌ These vouchers can then be used to save money on any future shops both in store and online, or they can be doubled in value when redeemed against one of the retailer's Rewards Partners. ‌ However, Tesco is now offering its customers an extra 1,000 'bonus' points, worth £10 of vouchers, when they choose to spend their vouchers with one of their 'Days Out' partner companies. This means that families can earn the extra points and book a fun trip at a range of popular places such as Blackpool Pleasure Beach, The London Eye, Chessington World of Adventures, and more. It is worth noting that the incentive will only be available until Tuesday, July 29, with the extra 1,000 points being credited to the eligible Clubcard account by Sunday, October 19. ‌ To qualify for the extra £10 worth of points, members will need to exchange a minimum voucher worth £5 for a Days Out Clubcard Rewards Partner code either through the Tesco website or app. Shoppers don't even need to redeem their extra points on a day out, as one Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert has advised that bargain hunters don't need to book a day out to reap the benefits. ‌ In the latest edition of the MSE newsletter, a financial expert has explained that, once the extra 1,000 points are transferred to the Clubcard account on October 19, they can be used to get £10 off a food shop. They can also be used to get £20 off with any of the supermarket's Rewards Partners, just not the 'Days Out' partners. This means they can still be redeemed against the likes of Disney+, RAC, Virgin Atlantic and much more. ‌ As is the case with all Clubcard vouchers issued, they will be valid for two years from the date they were issued. However, shoppers looking to save them up can extend them when they make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard website, with the remaining balance being credited back as points. These will then be reissued as new vouchers when a new batch is issued after the two year expiry date, For example, a 50p purchase on a £10 voucher will then be reissued as £9.50. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Tesco's Clubcard scheme currently allows for its members to earn one point for every £1 spent in store and online, or for every £2 spent on fuel at one of its forecourt. A minimum of 150 points is needed to earn a voucher worth £1.50. First launched in 1995, the largest UK supermarket's point-based scheme is now said to be used by 20million households across the country. For more information on how to earn the extra 1,000 points with a Days Out Rewards Partner, shoppers can visit the Tesco website.
